I simply adore this "look." Very sleek and classy. Too bad DALLAS never thought to have a character this glamorous on their show.

Yeah, Larry objected to the Dynastyification/feminization of Dallas which he attributed to Angelica. It was very obvious what they were going for. And so unneeded, really. Dallas sure as hell did not need an Alexis clone... it had J. m'er effing R.! Alexis was the female him... it's like a snake devouring itself. Dallas wasn't really the place for exoticals like Angelica anyway, she would have been more at home on Falcon Crest, or Dynasty/The Colbys (a la Bianca Jagger).

I still remember this. For several years the tabloids used to report a 2-3 page spread on what was going t happen in the seasons finales of Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest & Knots Landing. And, they always got it right. That's because they had leakers on the sets like they do now. So, Richard & Ester Shapiro wrote a fake script and had that leaked to every single tabloid, and they printed what that entire script entailed. The Star had most of it right like the others until it got to the last 20 minutes. That whole part was fake, so when the episode aired every Dynasty fan was in shock. They even had to take still photos of the wedding scene themselves and print them on and in their magazines.

This is very true. He always thought that Dallas was a male soap opera and that the women got their stories from the men. So after he got Phil Capice out of there (He wrote in his book that he offered PC 1 million dollars to leave Dallas) and was instrumental in not only bringing Patrick back but Leonard Katzmann as well. And, he felt that the Wes Parmelee/Jock Ewing story was great. That got changed because 2 weeks before Parmalee was supposed to be revealed as the returned Jock Ewing, the National Enquirer ran an article putting Jim's pic and Steve Forrest' pic side by side on their cover and revealing that Forrest was going to play Jock. The Dallas fans hit the roof and slammed Lorimar with calls and letters demanding that it be changed. It was, thus how haphazard the BBQ episode was.

But, if you go to Ultimate Dallas, there is debate going on till this day that Parmalee was in fact Jock, and that Jock left the family to stop the pain he was causing them.

Josh: What do you think Larry?..you think I'm hot enough to be your TV son? I mean..I kinda look like you, except for the part of being able to grow hair.

Larry: Listen sonny...it doesn't matter if your hot or you can grow that long, greasy hair..I am going to steal this show away from you in the first two episodes and your going to spend your evenings whining on Twitter about it!

New-Dallas-Teaser-Poster-No-Shirts-Required.jpg

JR: I gotta hand it to ya, Bob. Your idea to keep the peace by turning South Fork in to a nudist colony was a stroke of genius!

Bobby: Yes, I knew selling it or making it a conservancy was tearing the Ewings apart, now we can all live in peace and harmony. No more schemes and secrets - there is nothing to hide anymore!

Elena: Sorry, but I'd like to see you and JR hide something. No way do I want to see your withered old junk jiggling around. Please keep your clothes on.

Rebecca: Yeah, and Sue Ellen, at your age you might want to at least wear a bra to keep those dried up udders from hanging down.

Ann: Who are you talking to - Sue Ellen Ewing or Sue Ellen Mishke? Cause I already like to wear a bra as a top.

Rebecca: Well, both of you really. You're like, all old. Ewwww.

JR: These damn kids have no respect for our generation! Hey, where'd Cliff go?

Cliff: I'm down here on the floor! I keep tripping over my tallywacker. I've fallen and I can't get up!

PATRICK: "Smell my finger. We need to make you learn a new facial expression for the next scene. After that, you will at least have 2 to choose from"

You know, i understand the tension about the ratings. But since it's gotten renewed for a second season, and its the middle of this season, I'm not worried at all. It will pick back up towards the season finale.

Even before this week the ratings are very inconsistant and we don't know where they'll settle at. I hope they don't view the early renewal as a sign the show doesn't need work. It actually needs HUGE work. They need a much stronger cast and a new Headwriter. Elena has to go, Rebecca needs to be retooling and I'd go as far as to write Christopher out. Next season I'd have a good two or three new males AND females. Try again with the next generation. Bobby & Betsy, Lucas, James Beaumont (even if he needs to be recast) and give Lucy something to do.

The show I do see getting better, but I still feel this is often as lame as those reunion movies in terms of storyline. Only thing is that this show has such a poor attention to detail since nobody involved knows the original show. It's no longer in Braddock County, we have a Cattle Baron's Ball instead of Oil although Oil is a major part of the storyline. Miss Ellie was horribly mis-represented. Lucy and Ray are presented like a couple (and wasted) when they're RELATED. You retcon the past to have Elena around when Pam was there for no logical reason.

People gush about how brilliant the show is, but I'm sure the ratings would hold better if that were the case. This is like watching Pacific Palisades.

Despite popular belief, the ratings trend for this show isn't good at all.

TNT did renew it, which shows they're willing to wait it out before outright canceling. But if things aren't more consistent next season, I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled the plug. This show must cost a fortune for them to produce on a cable budget.

Week #5 had the lowest ratings yet (yes it was the 4th of July as well), and the show had a 1.0 in 18-49, so it likely ranked in the 20's for this week, but we won't know until the final report is out.

Here's last week's cable ratings rankings, as you can see, a lot of original programming from USA is rating higher than TNT's Dallas.

Rizzoli & Isles is TNT's highest rated original program, not Dallas which was ranked #15 last week. Keep in mind that Dallas started at #1 in its first week in the cable rankings and then fell completely out of the top 10.

True Blood is also rating higher, and HBO has less of an audience/reach than TNT.

One thing I will say is that from all I heard when I appeared as an extra, what I saw and what I've read on the net, I don't think the show is as expensive as many people thought. Some of the "expensive" wardrobe came from Ross Dress for Less lol. Also, the lack of extras in many scenes, small cast and the discounts from shooting in Texas must help them. I'd say it's a very modest production. They also don't have any big name actors so you don't have to worry about salary.

Yeah I do not see how this is a expensive cable drama at all. The ratings have to stabilize of course but I should point out that TNT has three dramas that regularly get a worse 18 to 49 rating then Dallas has ever got so far (even on the 4th) .

    • Running in late and a bit out of order cuz yesterday was a mess but since I'm here...   So far I am liking that there are a lot of hotties and bubbles on display. lol.   A lot of plot is moving and/or being touched on. Right down to ANOTHER of Vanessa's many men. He was cute and bubbled, too.    So far, I'm not feeling SilkPress vs NuTed.
    • I am really struggling with all this Dante Doesn't Like Gio stuff. Would Gio be engaged in this many conversations about how angry Dante is with him? It's overboard and forced beyond belief. I get it. The writers want to create friction between Gio and Dante before the paternity reveal. I just think it should be much more natural and organic. GH has had MANY MONTHS to create this drama, and instead woke up and said "We gotta go at this hard, because we're out of time."
    • These episodes Mitch S. is uploading. Numerous male actors performed their scenes without a shirt. While John Conboy started the trend, it seems that "Search" picked up where Conboy left off. On another note, Louan Gideon seems to be on everyday in the episodes Mitch S. is uploading. It must have been a letdown when she had no storyline in the final months of "Search" after Jacquline Shultz became David Forsythe's new leading lady. Even Marcia McCabe had a storyline those final months. But Louan had nothing to do once Hogan was paired up with Patti.
    • Sarah was an adopted/foster child.  The age difference between Michelle Joyner and Jackie Schultz would’ve been an issue. But I disagree with all the Women to Watch victims being sacrificed (and Suzi later).    Joe Lambie (Lloyd) was way too young to have fathered the OG Steve and Michael Kendall. We never got to see all four sons on the show at once.  That recast Steve was a joke, although I think we know why Steve Lundquist’s Speedo was cast…

She was 63. Ms. Blythe was born in England in 1947. She met Richard Monette — former Stratford artistic director — in England as they performed in the erotic revue Oh! Calcutta! in 1970. Said Stratford general director Antoni Cimolino, "Richard was wise enough to ensure it was a life-long friendship." In 1972, she emigrated to Canada and spent three seasons at Ontario's Shaw Festival before Monette brought her to Stratford. Ms. Blythe, known as one of the more beautiful actresses of her generation, first joined the festival company in 1976 to play leading roles in The Way of the World, The Merchant of Venice and Antony and Cleopatra. In 1978, she appeared in the Festival's first production of Titus Andronicus. More recently, she was Maria to William Hutt's Feste in Stratford's 2001 production of Twelfth Night. She last appeared on the Stratford stage in 2006 when she played Mistress Quickly in Henry VI Part 1, directed by Monette, and that same year she staged her one-woman show Fanny Kemble at the Studio Theatre. Most recently she appeared as Judge Evelyn Rowe in the 2010 television movie "The Ties that Bind." Blythe said she identified with Kemble because they both were British-born actresses who had spent most of their careers in North America. Other Stratford roles included Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest; the title role in Miss Julie; Rosaline in Love's Labour's Lost; Desdemona in Othello; Margery Pinchwife in The Country Wife; Elmire in Tartuffe; Gertrude in Hamlet; Liz Essendine in Present Laughter; and Goneril in King Lear opposite Christopher Plummer. She repeated the latter part in her sole Broadway appearance. Ms. Blythe is survived by her husband, Jean Beaudin; her father, Richard Blythe; her brother, Ben Blythe, sister-in-law Andrea Schlieker and their two children Lily and Phinn. The two actors offer insight on working with director Jonathan Munby, favorite roles and those who have inspired their careers. Michael Hayden: Most recent role? Father and husband. Before that Denton in the Roundabout Underground production of Language of Trees. Favorite Role? That's a hard one. Billy in Carousel, Hal in Henry IV. Pre-performance ritual? At some point in the day drill my lines. Warm up my voice. Pray. Beyond that, I keep it pretty loose. Each part is different. Some need quiet, some need loud music. I look for ways to be ready, but not comfortable. Ready to take the first step. Or if not ready, than at least willing.    This is you second production with STC, why did you want to return? That's easy. Michael Kahn and his staff produce great work. Doing Sweet Bird of Youth with Michael was a pure joy from beginning to end. I had loved Michael as an acting teacher at Juilliard and I loved him as a director. Also, there are very few places where one can do great classical roles. The Shakespeare Theatre is one of them and I hope to keep coming back. Why were you interested in playing Teodoro? I have never done a Lope de Vega play, though I had seen some of his other works while studying in Spain. This was a play I knew nothing about. I was drawn to it because it was funny, sexy, incredibly human in the see saw passions of the characters, and, of course, the language. I think the translation is brilliant and I hope we do it justice. As for Teodoro, we need to get to know each other better before I can talk much about him.   This is your first production with Jonathan Munby. What intrigued you about his work? In all honesty, I knew nothing of his work before I was called about this project. But after speaking with him for only a few minutes, I was certain that I wanted to work with him. He was able to articulate his vision for the play with such clarity. He has a long list of great work in England, my second home, and I'm grateful that he was willing to take a risk with me without having seen any of my work. We are lucky to have him. Most influential person in your theatre career? I stand on a lot of shoulders when I do my work, but I suppose the most influential person in my career, as well as my life, is Elizabeth, my wife. Any work of art, at least to me, is a work of the heart. She has mine and therefore has a presence in all I do. Michelle Hurd: Most recent role? I most recently played Laurel in Gossip Girl. It was fun for me as I often play cops and lawyers and doctors and this time I had the opportunity to play a mean fashionista ... and wear cute outfits and heels. Favorite role? This is always a hard question. I sure enjoyed the entire experience of playing Jessie Brewster in The Violet Hour. It was great working with Richard Greenberg and actors Mario Cantone and Hamish Linklater—great, generous guys. But I feel very at home on a set or onstage so it's hard to narrow it down. Pre-performance rituals? I'm old school. I like to do some kind of relaxation exercise and a vocal warm up. This is your first production with STC, why were you interested in working here? I have always heard wonderful things about STC.  It is a highly respected place and the space is beautiful. I want to work with talented, motivated, interesting people that inspire and I've found them here at STC and in Jonathan. Why were you interested in playing Diana? What's not of interest with Diana? She's an incredibly complex, exciting character. There is a lot on her shoulders in the construction of the play—that responsibility is scary and a welcome challenge. I've always been attracted to high text and period plays, but seldom have the opportunity to exercise that. I'm looking forward to it. This is your first production with Jonathan Munby. What intrigued you about his work? The man himself. He is one of the major reasons that I wanted to do this play. As soon as I met him, I felt an instant collaborative energy, respect and a desire to do better. That makes for a fulfilling process. Who was the most influential person in your theatre career? My parents. They met onstage in a play. I grew up watching my Dad on Broadway, in films. My sisters act, dance, even choreograph stage combat. Truly, theater is like the sixth member of our family. The arts have always been part of our lives, our livelihoods. I know nothing else. I even met my husband onstage. Circular, isn't it?     12/23/2008   https://newsroom.nmsu.edu/headlines-by-college/-star-trek--actress-michelle-hurd-to-be-honored-at-2025-las-cruces-international-film-festival/s/db653a05-d965-4bfd-864d-9cd45e775f95     INQUISITIVE REPORTER                                                                              FRANCISCO DE CUN           Also Credited As   Tru Cisco   GENERAL HOSPITAL        Reporter    April 2025 and BURIED IN THE BACKYARD    Donald Schultz - Todd's Dad JAY SHETTY      Various     2021 THE FORBIDDEN LOVE     Playboy     2023 SPOILED BY MY VAMPIRE UNCLE   James Davenport    2025 movies UNDER      Detective Richards NO COUNTRY CLUB FOR OLD MEN    Oliver Rivera    2017 HAND DRAWN     Adult Frank     2018 DANCE AND DEAL      Sean    2018 HANK      Leo     2019 CARNAL     Marco/Miguel   2019 ESCAPE HALLOWEEN      Husband    2019 WHEN WOMEN RULE THE WORLD    Michael Bray    2020 GRANDPA'S LONG MARCH      Businessman    2020 A DRINK TO PUERTO RICO    Francisco     2021 SAVING PARADISE  Wall Street Executive    2021 PICKPOCKET     Syndicate eader    2021 MY ESCORT BEST FRIEND    Francisco the Bouncer   2021 FUTURE DICTATOR   Professor; General Magnus   2022 VIDE NOIR    Jazz Club Skygazer     2022 RED SCORPION    Sam Jones     2022 THE LIZARD AND THE CROW      Crow    2022 INNER DEMONS     Dario    2023 DERANGED   Colonel Gillis    2023 THE RISK RULE    Diner    2024 IRRESISTIBLE LOVE WITH MY BROTHER-IN-LAW      Thomas O'Halloran    2025 Upcoming SKINNY DIPPING   Sr. Thompson    TBA    Post Production THE SERENADE CHARADE       TBA      Completed HIDDEN LIVES      Cafe Manager     TBA    Post Production A PRIVATE INVESTIGATION    Nolan Tripp     TBA    In Production ROSABELLE, BELIEVE      Erik    TBA    Completed MARK MY LOVE      Robert      TBA    Post Production Music Videos LATRICE ROYALE: HERE'S TO LIFE     Drummer    2016 PRICE: AMISTAD     Prosecutor    2021 THEATER BEIRUT       2017      Torch      REASONS TO BE PRETTY    2017   Greg A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE    2024  Stanley Kowalski      Band Member -- RUN RUN RUN    Drummer (Alternative Rock Band)     Tony Shalhoub     pg.     401    Also credited as Tony Diaz         10/9/1953 - Present SEARCH FOR TOMORROW    Customs Guard     October 1985 House Jameson    pg. 65 THE GUIDING LIGHT     Unknown Role    1958
    • She acted like she wanted to f him. I’m like girl he gay and married to your best friends son. Sit your hot coochie down!
    • I view the Duprees as being very insecure and paranoid about losing their status so they proclaim 'I'm a Dupree' just as much for themselves as their enemies.  I swear Nicole is the Marilyn Munster of the Duprees. And the lack of in-law interactions on the show has always baffled me.  When my parents were alive and we would visit family... my mom had close ties with both of her sister in laws (i.e. she and two other women were all married to brothers) and my dad got along well with his brother in law (Both of them were married to sisters).    So I'm glad that we're starting to get some in law interactions because those relationships are just as valuable as the ones amongst the actual family members.  Jacob/Smitty/Bill/Ted should all have some history/interactions with one another... though I admit I wish there was a hetero Dupree male because than we could have a daughter/sister in law that might not gel/get along with the other Dupree women and is closer to the Dupree men/male in laws.
    • Last I saw she was teaching acting (?) at a college, but that was probably ten-twenty years ago.  She and Michael Levin had immense chemistry. This is one time where all the stuff about what was in character didn't matter to me - pairing them up just seemed like a no-brainer to me. The Joe pairing sapped Siobhan's spirit, and while I liked Rose/Jack, it was clear someone at the show did not.
