I think they were saying if Ashley had not consented at the last minute it would have been. When a man throws a chair in a window to have sex with a woman, I don't think he's going to take no for an answer.

I'll bite. I don't think it was rape, nor was it meant to be "He almost raped her until she consented." I think it was something the writers/directors/Rauch thought was hot and edgy, nevermind the way it might look to someone else on-screen, that Tucker looked as if he would force himself onto Ashley until she acquiesced.
