Not only is this "story" so embarrassingly rushed, it's also never made any sense that Jill lacked family when she had Liz, Snapper and Greg all her life. Just because some idiot HW decided to erase the blood ties between them b/c he thought it'd make for better story (and btw, Jack Smith, it doesn't), that doesn't erase Jill's childhood or the first ten years of Y&R's history. What was the point of Jill apologizing to her Mother & making up with her brother? Nothing. Liz DIED for a plot point that didn't even last a week! It would be one thing if her motivations were different but the fact that she is connected to almost EVERY character on the show through blood, extended family or business makes the whole thing ridiculous. And even though Jill & Lauren weren't close they've known each other for DECADES to just trash Jill's existing ties to prop an idiotic plot point. Amen. If Maria REALLY were about fixing things wrong with Y&R she could very easily have Jill Foster Abbott create her OWN company. But given Y&R's ever increasing misogyny it will NEVER happen. Nope.
