July 8, 201015 yr Member Caleb looks more like he'd be related to Erica and Mark (especially at their early '80s swarthiest) than the Cooneys. ETA: So they've made no mention of his parents/exact relationship to Palmer at all? Edited July 8, 201015 yr by SFK
July 8, 201015 yr Member To be fair we don't know too much about Pete Cooney's past except for the stuff with Adam's sister. But yeah... I will give them credit though for them already having Caleb interact and get to know the town--something that in the past AMC has had a ton of trouble with when a new character comes on--they act with 2 other characters for 6 months and never even meet anyone else. I actually thought today's episode was decent except for a poor script (so I guess it COULDA been decent). Like I liked that Annie spoke about her past and they had that connection. But the transition to that, was so abrupt--theyw ere fighting and suddenly she's "cold" cuz the place reminds her of her past and INSTANTLY JR is sympathetic. There were other little bits that just had clunky dialogue I thought. Bonus points for the gratuitous emphasis on JR's nipples and Ryan's package I suppose though. So what if David paid off the SEC to stay out of jail? Why are they making this out to be a deal breaker for he nad Greenlee? I agree in theory, after everything he's done that she's not cared about, but he did make a BIG point to her that he was doing this sacrifice (jail) for her, which I assume partly lead to them sleeping together again. July 8, 201015 yr Member Love that Frankie invited Madison to stay with him and Randi! Very interesting development, I'm looking forward to Randi's reaction, and also seeing how things work out as things progress with them living with each other. Maybe there is still hope for Frankie/Madison. Also very nice to see Frankie and Randi's apartment. This is the first time we've seen it since the LA move. Also about Madison...still am finding myself liking her with Ryan also! What a sweet scene between them in the park. I loved the scene when they were talking to each other on the phone, and they were like 3 feet away from each other, LOL. It was cute, and very natural. Annie and JR....wow, not to many fans of those two here, LOL. I loved their scenes at the cottage, I was hoping it would spill into tomorrows episode. But I savored what we got, and wasn't disappointed once. I loved Annie talking about her childhood, and also being on the run with Emma. It seems the writer's are trying to redeem her a bit by finally having her start to show her regrets for putting Emma through so much last year, and also all the horrible things she has done in the past. Her being so honored to give JR bone marrow is nice also, I'm glad she let that out to. JR was so understanding of her, I loved it. These two are so great together, I can't get enough. Loved the Caleb/Erica/David/Greenlee scenes, to. I really like how things are developing with Caleb, and him being introduced to everyone in PV. 2 more nicknames, David is 'Doc', and Greenlee is 'Bambi', LOL I love it. We got another short scene between the two of them. I loved this one better than the last. I'm glad Bianca gave Madison her job back. I will admit that I see chemistry between these two also, LOL. I just like Madison with everyone basically....even David. She has chemistry with everyone she comes across, and that is a really good thing. It's unclear if AMC will go there with Madison/Bianca, but I wouldn't mind it if they did. I am just so unsure about what I want for Madison now, LOL. I agree with you on most points, except that would prefer Madison with Ryan over Bianca or Frankie because she makes him watchable again, imo. I'm also loving Annie & JR. It was great how she realized she was opening up more to him than she had to any man in a long time and they both admitted their connection goes beyond the sexual. Caleb's nicknames are entertaining and so far his introduction to Pine Valley is one of the smoothest I've ever seen. I just hope he doesn't lose his edge once he's fully integrated. I like Madison w/ Ryan, although I like her moving in w/ the young Hubbards I just can't believe Frankie would be so stupid, the bitch caused you your son, Randi miscarried b/c of her...but lets see if Randi reacts the way I want her to. LMAO she really does look like Bambi. Hopefully Randi has a meltdown and it leads to her finally leaving the show! So Caleb and Dixie are cousins? Who are Caleb's parents? This makes no sense since it was previously established that Palmer's only sibling was his sister, Bess. I actually thought today's episode was decent except for a poor script (so I guess it COULDA been decent). Like I liked that Annie spoke about her past and they had that connection. What bothers me is that we knew of Palmer's 1 sister and he never mentioned any other sibling. Yup, it was another poor script by Joanna Cohen.

July 8, 201015 yr Member Hopefully Randi has a meltdown and it leads to her finally leaving the show! Oh joy. Let's give Vasi another reason to "act." I'm having visions of her past tweets: "Feisty Randi Morgan is BACK!" Sit. Down.

July 12, 201015 yr Member "Bambi" is not a very original nickname for Greenlee. Laura's nurse during the Gillian's-transplanted-heart storyline in 00-01 used to call her that when she would try to get past her to Leo and Laura's place. BTW...loving the show right now. Good balance. Interested in almost all stories. So many places to go and avenues to explore (Frankie/Madison, Caleb's immediate connections, Jesse/Mayor dust-up..) There are still some kinks in the armor (Rylee Endgame, rushed dialogue, poorly integrated outdoor scenes, under-use of Brot/Natalia/Frankie), but overall, this show is better than it has been in almost ten years.
