What would be 'in character' for her? We don't know this character any more. The last time we saw her she was a teen working for her mother, I believe. Now that she's back, rather than making a tool for Carly's mind(less) games, she could have been developed into a Tracy clone/staunch ally. She could have started as an intern at ELQ and learned the company from the inside.

It sure beats hooch-for-hire. THAT, for me, feels out of character given who and what her family is and that Lois would never have raised her daughter to accept that sort of thing... no matter how long she's been away. We saw enough of BL with Lois before she left to know that of her future plans, hooking for Carly would never have made it to the list. Even now, given her fierce independence, working for Carly doesn't seem to fit.

So the best thing to combat out of character interaction is with even more out of character stuff? We know that she's not a business person. She doesnt even want to go to school and she hated the idea of living at the Quartermaine mansion and having Edward try to extert his influence and control over her future. At her core, she's always been about her music and thats something that still remains a part of her. Her music is the entire reason why she came to town and just a couple of days ago, she was singing bc thats her passion. I see her doing something creatively oriented. If its not singing, its producing, writing or something related where she can express herself. Running an international company is incredibly out of character for her since she has NEVER shown any interest or desire to do such. It would be one thing if they brought her back after all these years with a slight interest in ELQ and the boardroom, bc afterall its been years since we've seen her and she very well could have developed one, but they did not. In fact everything about her screams the opposite.

Music was very much a part of her father's life, to. When did it stop him from asserting himself as a Q and wanting his share of the family business??? If anything, it's MORE of a tribute to the Q legacy and more realistic than having Brook Lynn become a famous recording artist. Then what does the show do with her?

She sings at the drop of a hat? Every wedding? Every Cheese ball first date? She does the Jack Wagner thing on Bold, who's character writes a song to sing to each new woman in his life? She opens a club and books other new acts?

There's no where to take her with that, in a way that makes sense for this show.

I did mention that she could open her own record company, but that's something she could do as part of the ELQ storyline after convincing Tracy she could make something like that work. It wouldn't require the show to commit to keeping the 'singer/songwriter' stuff going - driving fans mad. Some of her time could be spent at the record company. Some of her time could be spent learning more about the company.

Finally got what that cymbal banging monkey signifies with Franco, and also the Route 66 song. But what the heck does Franco have to do with Elizabeth? The number 66 is at the end of her hospital tag. um ok. Is he going to target her and her baby because of Jason, or is she just a random target??? And I hope we get some Jason/Liz interactions out of this.

Also what about Franco's connection to Ronnie? That was brought up last time. And we saw him today arresting Jason. I bet Ronnie is really working with Franco and had to make up the best excuse to get him back into Pentonville. Ronnie has been pissed about the idea of Jason being out from the day it started. And how convenient that Franco managed to get that picture sent to Jason's cell? I bet Ronnie had something to do with it. That picture looked like it was one of Jake when he was younger, but with that monkey face tacked onto him.

Not a very popular opinion, but I love Liz/Nik together.

Another slack-jawed, blank-eyed performance from Julie Marie Berman on Friday!

God, I love Claire Walsh. How ironic on a show penned by a misogynist that two women in particular -- Claire and Olivia -- stand out as sexy, intelligent divas by dint of the actresses who portray them. I just. LOVE. Them.

So do I. I hate it when people call them Brendabots because I don't see that at all.

Coleman and Claire might be cool -- Lucky & Claire has me more intrigued, though. And I still think Olivia & Johnny have the best physical chemistry on the show.

I agree. And I hate that Guza HAD to go there with the whole, "I only want to date you because you look like my ex" thing that's coming up. It just makes me think they will really make her desperate and insecure to hold onto Sonny and there is no need to trash the character that way. If you don't wanna write for her, leave her with a shred of dignity before she leaves, gets killed off, or recurs for other court cases.

And again, Dahlia Salem has really upped her game since she was on Another World. She has better dialogue and story in her supporting role than when she was a young female lead on that show, but she handles "the tough, snappy DA" role very well. I was initially excited because it was a Friend of Jill's from another show(who likely pushed for her to Teschner) that people could talk crap about, but she has clearly come in and made this small role into something great and dynamic, beyond the writing. Is there any wonder why Guza gave her some sort of backstory?

And Olivia needs to stay, but only if Lisa Lo is allowed to have the hooker red hair she used to have as Jocelyn on The City so the Brooklyn Brenda comparisons can stop. :)

I meant that former and latter. Olivia would be awesome with Coleman. Can you imagine the two of them running Jake's together? Lisa Lo would look hot in a wife-beater tee and tight jeans, serving drinks to all the lonely hearts in Port Charles.

Claire not so much. Lucky and Claire would be interesting. You are right about that.

Who's head and body did you photoshop Claire's face on? LMAO!

If the bitch name's her child Shirley, I'm going to kill someone. Lauren Spencer has waited years to be born

Is Sam making her own clothes now? It looked like she sewed up a towel today and put it on. And why wasnt her hair combed? This is the worst that she's looked

    • Leo felt like a real person in the scene, for once. I also don't have the same animosity regarding Gwen and am excited to see how she'll fit in and be written with the new writers, even if her return was a part of RC's plans.
    • JC wrote negatively about ES and brought up the beef w/ MTS. I don't recall her saying anything negative about any other producer or cast member.
    • I’m up to September 4, 1996. Roger paper mache’d and painted a creepy human head of himself, put it in his bed at the loony bin, and escaped! LOL - that was campy. But sadly he got caught and thrown back in. Then he escaped again, and so the merry go round goes. Ok now another mysterious person showed up, without showing his face, to mentor Zachary and help him repair the lighthouse. Is this another angel? His voice sounds like the deeper one that was speaking to Phillip on the docks a month or two ago.  Zachary is becoming a pesky little fly, showing up everywhere and getting into everyone’s business haha. Ugh, my girl Bridget is now getting way too desperate over Hart. Out of nowhere, she’s fallen back in love with him and now she’s working to split up Dinah/Hart, but in a very desperate way. She needs to find her confidence and backbone ASAP. We’re starting to see more of Bill, finally. He’s being a typical teenager, beefing with Matt, now that he learned about his past with Amanda in Malibu. Michelle is being nice to Bill now that J pissed her off. Bill is a lifeguard now and it was very nice/cute of J to pretend like he’s drowning so Bill could rescue him and prove himself for the job. This new J is much better and more likable than Pilgrim’s version. Griffin survived the assassination attempt, but is still in the hospital and someone is framing Vivian as the shooter by putting the gun in her car. Ok. Beth has now decided to officially divorce Phillip since he won’t come home and quit his vendetta against the A. Spaulding in question. Beth being off camera (and me not knowing her) really makes this fall flat unfortunately. When writing Phillip’s return, I wonder if they tried to get the actress back but couldn’t? Rick and Abby are just realizing they both are interested in each other and it’s very sweet. They just had their first picnic date in the park and Rick was very sweet to her. I’m nervous for how Abby will react to Rick being the father of one of Blake’s baby though - she doesn’t handle stress well haha. I do commend O’Leary and Budig for learning and using so much sign language throughout the year with Abby. The Vanessa storyline - what a sucker punch. Be patient, but here are my running thoughts throughout this wild ride, and imagine me saying “Vanessa, what are you doing?” after each episode: Oh noooo. Vanessa just had a secret MRI and oh my gosh, the results aren’t great. How sad this is to hear the news she will end up in a vegetative state within the next few weeks/months for years and not remember her family due to some incurable disease in the brain. This is devastating. Maeve is doing such a great job and I love how Nola is there first to console her. Great scenes between Vanessa and Nola throughout. Now she’s contemplating suicide and Zachary is talking her out of it.  So very sad. Ugh, now she’s starting to go blind and won’t tell Matt anything. This is all so quick! She’s being so stubborn not telling anyone or asking for help. Now she just wrecked her car (twice!), and is stranded unconscious in a ditch, but alas here is Zachary to help again. Now she wants to pretend like she died in the car fire!  Vanessa, what is wrong with you haha. Is she always this bullheaded and not willing to show weakness to her loved ones? Roger happened to stumble across the wreck too and hear Vanessa and Zachary talking, so I’m curious how he’ll use that against her or if he’ll be the one to spill the beans somehow.  Ugh, now her entire family has shown up to the wreck site devastated, agonizing over it and attempting/risking their lives to get into the fiery wreck to save her, all while Vanessa is watching on the sidelines. That’s a bit cruel, Vanessa!  Wait, now Aug 30 and everyone in Springfield is being told she died and they identified the body, which is heartbreaking, but Vanessa is still with Zachary… so did she really die and is an angel now or WTF is going on? Ok now Roger just saw the news in a newspaper and said to himself that Vanessa is actually alive, phew. And now she’s shown up at the airport dressed as a nun while Zachary confronts Roger, who is pretending to be a pilot while evading the loony bin wards/police.  Now Zachary magically convinced Roger to give up his gun and turn himself in, and just as he’s being taken out of the airport, with Dinah and Frank right there, he sees Vanessa amongst a gaggle of nuns, surprising everyone by saying that, but she is able to get on the plane unseen and now everyone thinks Roger is scum and even crazier than before. So Vanessa, what are you doing?? @P.J., I know you’re a huge Vanessa fan, what did you think of this storyline - and others, how did you and the audience feel about this storyline? How did Maeve feel about this storyline?
    • Leslie has become much less like Sheila Carter now. The real Sheila Carter always carried this somewhat threatening and unpredictable vibe about herself, even when she wasn't having one of her meltdowns. Like you knew not to play with her or cross her. NuTed is still a NO for me I'm sorry to say. I can't believe how much in love and invested I was with OG Ted just to feel absolutely nothing for him now.
    • When Eva took the helmet and gloves from Leslie's closet, I don't think Eva's motivation was to protect Leslie. Remember that Leslie warned Eva that if Leslie were found guilty and jailed, then Eva could also be considered guilty as "accessory after the fact", because Eva kept her suspicions quiet for a long time and let Leslie get away with it. At this point, I think Eva would be sort of relieved if Leslie were caught, but at the same time, Eva would be terrified that Leslie would testify against her.  So I think Eva's motivation for hiding the helmet was for Eva's own self-preservation. That being said, Eva may have led Leslie to believe that Eva is protecting Leslie.  But after Leslie discovered it was missing and realized that Eva took it, Eva said something to Leslie that indicated that Eva feels that she is now holding some of the cards.
    • I saw that earlieir. RIP to her
    • We don't know whether Maurice Johnson chose to leave, if he was let go, etc. We don't know the circumstances concerning the Ted recast. But it's two very different situations of a recast, so the comparison between the two is actually not as valid as one may think. There are plenty other comparisons that would be more fair. Keith D. Robinson wasn't there on the day after Johnson exited; sure, there was a one-day gap, but it wasn't the next day. And, at that, Johnson was even in the opening credits the day prior to Robinson's debut. Obviously, any recast that has a significant period of time between one actor's exit and another's entrance is going to be different if it's a same-week/next week/next few days replacement.
    • Yeah I’m one of the few, and trust me I hate Leo, but I didn’t mind his scenes at all today especially his ones with Jack. Another beat, while I know most of us hate it, that needed to be played regarding John’s death.
    • Again, as explained multiple times, they didn't have an overnight set crew post-COVID, so it was easier to keep up certain sets permanently, and those were the community lots. And the fact we got the return of the O.G. Newman Ranch set (albeit updated), the Abbott remodel and yes, even Billy's new home set, is an amazing accomplishment. And we've seen other sets updated over time, from Crimson Lights to Sharon's cottage and the return of the tack house (with some structural updates). Comparing 2020/2021 versus now is a major upgrade in sets and set uses. Whereas, DAYS is pretty much still in the same predicament it's been in for years, and it's dire. Using community sets is easy; no offence, but you're the one complaining about wanting more community sets on Beyond the Gates, whereas The Young and the Restless has plenty: Crimson Lights, the original Genoa City Athletic Club (which returned, replacing the Grand Phoenix, which everyone bitched and complained about wanting the GCAC back instead), Society, the Jazz Lounge (via the GCAC) and even Chancellor Park. What does DAYS have? A smaller Horton Town Square, the Brady Pub and what... the poorly-lit bar? And not a single home set on Y&R is repeated; meanwhile, Marlena and Abe have the same "penthouse" set (which is a living room with a fireplace and a hallway that leads nowhere). Kayla and Marlena appear to have the same office set, and it's then re-used in altered form for Jada's office at the Salem PD. The Kiriakis mansion is reduced to a dated shoebox; I'm honestly surprised we somehow got a remodeled DiMera mansion (and were taken out of their own dated shoebox set). You've got people living in the Salem Inn (in repeated hotel rooms, with potential slight differences). The comparison between DAYS versus Y&R is comical. Not to mention, judging from recent episodes, Y&R now has a JIB, whereas it took DAYS about a year into their run on Peacock to [finally] get their cameras/production value updated. And while it's miles better than it was before, it's still not one hundred percent. It's very obvious which soap has a budget, and DAYS is not it. And I've been watching DAYS lately... we get maybe three or four sets. That's about it. So that, compared to what you call "six or seven" for Y&R... it shows. Not to mention, the quality of the sets is not even a comparison, either. Both the new Newman Ranch and the Abbott remodel look ten times more quality in comparison to the DiMera mansion remodel.
    • My only memory is that she shaded Ed Scott for contributing to her rift with Melody. I can't recall her naming anyone else. Who else did she name? I wish in those memoirs the actors would talk more about their storylines, actors they worked with etc.
