Rita MacLaughlin Walter was tested for the role of Sally (Tom's girlfriend) on ATWT but lost to Kathleen Cody.

After her role of Carol was dropped on ATWT she was considered for Tara on AMC.

I know Kathleen Cody was on DS but I always think of her in that Disney movie SuperDad (1973) with Kurt Russell (who she also dated in real life). Sleazy Bob Crane played her dad, and Barbara Rush was her mom. The film title song "These Are the Best Times" was sung by Bobby Goldsboro. A lot of people have said they went out and got that song for their wedding.

I never thought she was suited to DS. Disney seems more in her lane.

Granted, I haven't seen much of her ATWT work, but I think she would've made for a fine Tara recast. In the stuff that I have seen with her, she always comes across as warm and sincere.

Denise Pence ,who plays Katie on "Guiding Light," was offered a new role on "As the World Turns" when the Dobsons - who went from headwriters of GL to ATWT- invited her to make the switch with them. Pence said. "No, thank you," because she wanted to stay with "Guiding Light." We hope her loyalty doesn't backfire She is a super actress as well as a special person.

I never knew that. I wonder if Denise ever regretted her choice as it was downhill fast for Katie.
