Hey, I'm trying on find information on an actress that was this show in either the 60s or 70s, Iris Braun. She was my friend's grandmother. Unfortunately he doesn't know anything about the role she had. If anyone knows anything about who she played or has pictures that would be amazing.

@Darn I know that her character's name was Nancy Vallin. I have her in the Secret Storm cast list in the Cancelled Soaps Cast List Thread. I put up info (years, something about the character) , but I haven't found out any more than the character's name.

@vetsoapfan may know something about it, I think he helped with some of the info

Her husband, Dolph Sweet was on Gimme A Break. I have a list of his roles on soaps if you want. Just let me know

I just did a quick Google search and I haven't found any specific years she was on the show, but I did see a magazine from July 1972 that listed her among TSS cast members.

Man, you guys are awesome! Seriously in awe...

@All My Shadows Thank you! Even knowing that one year is going to make my friend and his family very happy. Apparently she followed her time at SS with a stint on Broadway.

@slick jones Thank you! Yeah my friend was telling me about his step grandfather Dolph (I forgot the affectionate name they had for him)!

I was a big-time soap watcher way back then, but unfortunately, neither the actress' name nor the character ring any bells. I can say that she must not have been a major player, or lasted very long, because I would have remembered her, or been able to find some references of her in my soap-history books.

Thanks for trying, I was able to pull another detail from my friend, she was only on the show for a year.

Also he's biased but said she looked like a young Elizabeth Taylor.

I have several soap-history books, and she's not listed in any of them. Googling her name produces no results, either. I found an obituary for a woman with the same name, who died recently and was in her 90s, so the age might fit, but they referred to her deceased husband and it was not Dolph Sweet.

@vetsoapfan I found that obituary as well and I don't think that's her (the commenters don't match the names any of his family members that I know). Thank you again. I'm visiting him sometime this year and will try to get a picture of her around the time she was on the show.

Based on reading the history of television show...it seemed like Sudan was the more fascinating of the three Ames children...and certainly evolved over the years..yet the show wrote her out in the last few years...and kept Amy...who seemed kind of boring/dull.

Jada Rowland, an original cast member, was very sweet as Amy Ames, and her charisma continued to make the character appealing, to me at least. even when the writing was not great. Of course Susan, depending on who was playing her at the time, was a wonderful character who should not have been eliminated. fans did not approve of the Ameses being axed.

Starting at the 11:54 for mark are promos of The Edge Of Night, Search For Tomorrow and at 12:44 a promo of Secret Storm that I don't think I have seen before.

    • Sami's Three Stooges stole the show today

I enjoyed their individual scenes with other characters before they all came together at the Pub to commiserate over their relationships with Sami. I thought that was broken down pretty well. I just wish it had gone on a little longer. And I actually found it kinda funny too lol it seemed more mature than what we're used to. That's the kind of humor that should be on a soap. But I'm not really sure about all this talk of Dante Vitali and Sami's engagement though, especially since it doesn't look like Ali Sweeney is coming back anytime soon. What's the point of it all if we're (probably) not going to see it? It also looked like today was the first round of Brady vs. Xander as well lol I enjoyed their fight, and I'm interested in seeing this storyline play out. Even though I'm sure that Sarah will ultimately go back to Xander in the end, I'd like to see what happens along the way, and how they and everyone around them are affected by this. Btw, Theo and Jada? Idk. I still think he had the most chemistry with Arianna. And he was a bit of a dick too. It also seemed a little out of character for Jada for her to be so OK with him being such a dick  And though Alex and Stephanie were very boring again and need much better conflict than this book stuff, I am interested in the mystery of who's targeting Alex.  And yeah, I know this is a nitpick, but why is the Square still open after the gala? Isn't it supposed to be really late at night?
    • In fairness, Hillary and Bob Woods were thick as thieves again at least by the end of OLTL. But both she and I believe Mark Derwin not so subtly dissed Kale Browne in the oral history, lol.

    • Frat Boy Jr.'s reaction to seeing Luna was just awful acting. It was so bad that I started laughing.

Does anyone have screenshots of it?
    • Geez, I hadn't heard that Doctors story. HBS really did go through it.
    • No offense to the actors involved, but dear God in heaven: I don't know HOW viewers managed to get through that storyline with Maggie, Frank, Cal and baby Jill without running into oncoming traffic.  Then, to make matters worse, they dragged poor Diana into the mess!  I don't care WHO gets that damn baby!  Just wrap it up and move ON already!
    • Poor HBS.  To have to put up with Stephen Burleigh, who stuck his knee between her legs while rehearsing a love scene on THE DOCTORS, then told the director that's what he did with his wife; Kincaid, who had more hair on his chest and upper lip than Koko the Gorilla; Kale Browne, who taped his lines all over the OLTL studio floor, because he couldn't ever be bothered to [!@#$%^&*] memorize them; and Robert S. Woods, who apparently thought it was still 1979 and that he was still smolderingly sexy, so why should Bo Buchanan be stuck being in a happy marriage with Nora?  After all that, no wonder she jumped at the chance to play a lesbian on VENICE, lol.
    • @Maxim Thank you for the mini-review and clip from several pages ago. I appreciate you using the Bo/Alex clip as them meeting again by this point was a real surprise to me. The scene has some layers, getting a glimpse of Alex genuinely wanting the best for Bo rather than gloating. I was disappointed it ended with Tina dragging her out of the room for some much less interesting sparring (I did enjoy Alex pointing out just how quickly Tina got over Cord).
