This was posted at SOC with the SID spoilers:

The show is looking to cast a Latino female as the new Mayor

What role did Agnes Nixon play years ago at one of the anniversary episodes? Wasn't she the mayor?

Rosa Santos? lol Silvana Arias from Passions can play the role. She was one of the few good things about the soap

or better yet go older and get Priscilla Garita. She NEEDS to come back to Daytime

Too Bad the former Carmen Santos from GL is over on OLTL playing a horrible Carlotta!! She would be great as the Mayor and she could be a Santos

She's the first person who crossed my mind when I thought "Latina Mayor" but figured they'd probably want to go younger. If the character is in fact Sonya Reyes, then yes, she'd be perfect. I believe in sharing the wealth, there are tons of actors out there who need work, but it would be interesting to see her recur on both soaps at once. ^_^
