Members Rakesh
So Stephanie just sent Beth flying into the pool? JG/Donna ruined the sadness. I laughed like hell when she started to scream.
Members bellcurve
I think if Brad should have given anyone the Alzheimer's story, he should have given it to Sue Flannery. Stephanie is a character that has run her course and we could have actually CARED about Stephanie because we see her day in and day out.
Members bellcurve
She walked away as LinusBeth looked at the security blanket floating in the pool. This show is pathetic. And Brad's just lazy, complacent, and arrogant. No wonder why daytime is in the sh*tter.
Members Rakesh
Brad is indeed a lazy hack! Someone should give him a good beat down.
Members wingwalker
Gosh the show just starts the Alzheimer's story and Beth drowns in a pool already. Lazy Brad. Lazy But some possible "good" news (at least IMO), looks like Drew Tyler Bell has been taken off contract. I noticed a few weeks ago in the end credits, he's no longer listed with the contract actors and is now credited as recurring actor in the weeks he appears. Members Rakesh
Today was supposed to be a very sad day, but... My mother and I laughed out really loud at Jennifer Gareis's Donna performing CPR. KKL's Brooke should have been the one who found Beth. JG suck at drama. On the other hand, she's pure gold at comedy.
Members P.J.
Just...ugh. I waited all last week for Beth's accident, and they almost spent more time on Beth drowning than the confrontation with Steph that triggered it. And between Jen Garesis and Julie Pinson, it was "bad wailing for dead day player parents" day on CBS.
Members BoldBeauty
Oh great, now Stephanie is gonna be called a killer by the Logans. Just makes me wanna skip this week. It was an accident. I wish Stephanie had been no where near Beth now considering she will get hated for something she never intended to happen.
Members Juliajms
I think so too. There have been times when Donna and Pam were the only duo worth watching.
Members ReddFoxx
I laughed hard at the scene where Donna found Beth, it looked like something out of a cheap monster movie. That was poor acting and directing all at once.
Members DaytimeFan
The real comedic gold, from my perspective, was Robyn Riker. She didn't play Beth as if she had Alzheimers, she played Beth as if Beth was loony bin nutjob. Jennifer Gareis' screaming was funny, her compressions were a joke...but then I remembered, she's pregnant, so she has to be careful to induce any sort of stress on herself. Members wingwalker
Yeah, I really wish they hadn't put Donna at the center or this. Brooke hardly got any lines today, she should be more involved. JG sucks at the dramatic stuff and could care less about Donna. I thought the same thing that Beth seemed more like a loon from the nuthouse instead of someone with Alzheimer's. At least the show isn't a complete bore anymore. Before this story started, show was getting really boring.
Members P.J.
Did I miss something? I could have sworn Brooke showed up at the guest house, pointedly asked Steph if she was leaving...then it cut to commercial and resumed with Steph coming to say goodbye to Eric. WTF? I thought there was going to be some showdown between them, and nada.
Members bellcurve
Consider the written material and you can see why she played it that way. I'm not a huge fan of Robin Riker, but she was given absolutely NOTHING to work with.
Members DaytimeFan
You're absolutely right. Though I think Riker is a very limited, crap actress, she had nothing to work with. Absolutely nothing. Honestly, Alzheimers is hard to write...but of all people, Brad Bell should have known either how to do it or at least known that he wasn't capable of delivering respectful material. After all, it's the disease that killed his father.
