RHOC:

After watching the premiere, I can see why the show decided to cast another housewife Lydia. Not sure if she will have an intro at the start, or be a friend of housewife as of yet.

RHONY:

I admit that I was intrigued when Bravo fired Jill and Kelly but kept Luann on the show. I was wondering why this was done and after watching season 5, I understood why. Before, Luann could stir the pot but because Jill and Kelly were so toxic.. the viewer could kind of forget about Luann's toxic ways. However, in season 5, Carole totally would knock her.. Ramona would annoy her, and heather would nicely call out Luann's pot stirring tendencies. I think Luann tried to allign with aviva, but I think even she saw how nuts the girl was and distanced herself in a way.

I wonder if the pushing back of filming season 6 is more then just waiting till summer and that the show is looking to cast some new women? I haven't heard if Carole and/or Heather are returning and it is possible that maybe they didnt agree to come back.. We shall see

RHONJ:

I think Bravo didn't change up the cast due to the high ratings of the franchise. I think that this show needs to mix it up every season like all the other franchises. Heck, even Miami seems to have tweaked their cast for their upcoming season 3.

With only 5 and a rather predictable but still entertaining dynamic I am glad they added a sixth. But I question the choice of who. I actually prefer totally new women to enter these shows.

Oh I guess bravo announced officially all current cities have been renewed for another season. Including those currently airing/wrapped. No surprise there though.

IDA. LuAnn was by far the most toxic housewife in season 4. She was downright awful and worst than Kelly or Jill at that point. Nothing she said or did last season compared to how vile she was the year before. That vileness wasn't ignored by the viewers and she did receive hate for it in spite of having Kelly and Jill around. LuAnn last season was rahwr tame and quite frankly boring

I do agree, but I think the reason she was rather tame and kind of boring was because her sidekicks Kelly and Jill were not there. So she couldn't be at her most toxic and evil because no one was there to encourage and back it up. Anytime she did (i.e. telling Aviva about Ramona & Sonya wishing her hubby Reid didn't come though she also said the same thing) usually was twarted by someone (usually Heather).]

So it was actually refreshing to see Luann not being so vile and anytime she was creeping back to that, she was usually stopped in her tracks.

Yes, Season 5 was kind of boring.. but at least it wasn't the toxic train wreck of season 4.

That NJ is the worst Photoshopping I've ever seen. It looks like a little girl who cut out magazine photos and glued them into one space.

Kathy looks like a zombiefied Bethenny Frankel.

LOL Cheap I was going to ask you if you had a pic of Mama Dee from the promo sipping wine. I was going to have "Change is comin" under my screen name.

FINALLY - There are some confirmations from Bravo on NYC Season 6.

Ramona, Heather, and Carole have been asked back and have signed a contract! They will be attending Bravo's UpFronts tonight.

No word on whether the other three are holding out for more money, or if they haven't been asked back (LuAnn, Aviva, and Sonja).

According to my guide Andy has NKOTB as his guests tonight... all of them. There's still time to do that since I don't think their Upfronts are today... could be though

Tabatha C. will be on tomorrow night.

    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
    • Luna parachutes herself into Llanview at the end of September 15th 1991.
    • That lengthy flashback does make me wonder if she threw out a lot, but I agree it may have been too easy an urban legend. Would these have been her very first episodes? I imagine you could feel the big difference when Bobbie arrived, alongside the Quartermaines filing in, the return of Heather, and Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan heating up. It does remind me that there must have been some dud moments in the 60-minute format we just don't see because little of the period is available in full.  I wonder how much longer the Dantes lasted under Marland.  David Hamilton is so disgusting. I appreciate the show making him disgust as some shows when they have stories about older men or women manipulating teens aren't as honest.  I can't see this Rick being friends with him. Chris Robinson's Rick, on the other hand, I could believe.
