You know what? I was OK with Jody this episode. Yes, he has Coke-Face, but I thought he was pretty reasonable with Larsa in the car. She's the one who nobody wants to film with, except her mother. Is Lisa a fair-weather friend? Absolutely. But so is Larsa. Neither of them should be relied on for excessive loyalty.

But yes, definitely, given Miami's longtime reputation, this is all going to get muy escandaloso.

So where am I standing with the ladies?

 

ALEXIA. lol. I loved that Alexia's life continues to be a telenovela. It's going to be interesting to see where this stuff with Todd goes. Moreso because she was crying a mess this episode, and I know they are still together. Meanwhile, ADRIANA WAS RIGHT!!!  And she was giving great comedy relief to the ladies due to her situation.

 

GUERDY. I love that she decided to continue on despite how she felt last season and the cancer. And mmmm at Russell. I look forward to seeing her bounce back given what she has shown so far. Meanwhile, this petty feud with Julia...Team Guerdy. Because it seem like it was just a technical accident and lord, given my own technology I can relate. She even tried to turn the other cheek with Julia and it's Julia trying to make it an issue. And of course, if there is one thing Guerdy is going to give...it's reactions. Her and Adriana during Lisa vs Larsa at the end was a hoot.

 

JULIA. *PorshaWilliams*WRONG ROAD, WRONG ROAD, WRROOONG ROOOAD*PorshaWilliams* I don't know what she was thinking. Or if she can think for herself now that she has gotten closer to Alexia and Marysol, but her starting a petty feud was not it. Even online, she is being dragged. And the fact she's running with it. Let me smh. I am happy about the boys. I am also happy that again...ADRIANA WAS RIGHT.  

 

LARSA. Ooooo so we are getting stuff with Marcus. I admit that I still stay surprised at how much mileage that Larsa is getting out of this REAL breakup. I do get where she's coming from. But Lisa cannot control who her man hangs with, only who she is. Now if Larsa and Marcus were sworn enemies, she might have more to work with. But I think that was what she was trying to say to Lisa. BUT she could have said that BEFORE. I was surprised to see her mother. I was also surprised to see a softer side of her this episode. And her vs Lisa gave their Season 5 fights. They both got great digs in.

 

LISA. Now...what was Jody doing in the bedroom?  And lord, she is soooo extra with the clothes changes for someone one's party. lol. Never change! lol. I felt she gave a lot from her trying to navigate post-Lenny life to her having the event to her story with her father. I'm probably going to get triggered with that so you all have been warned. I'm already feeling it. The Marcus stuff...she really should have given Larsa more of a heads-up. And her fight with Larsa, as I said, was great. She even got a great dig in on Marysol. lol.

 

FOH

 

ADRIANA. Dark haired Adriana is the best Adriana. lol. And she is ALWAYS right. Alexia. Julia. What will she say next? What's the tea? hehe. And that date of hers....MMMMMMMMmmm. And so willing to be on screen. And I was hollering at her reactions during Lisa vs Larsa.

 

KIKI. Now Kiki...HAHAHAHAHA!!! Not you breaking up with a guy and STILL being able to use his yacht. But that's the glamour we like in our housewives. And I loved her looking fabulous and hanging with Guerdy. And I liked her comforting poor Larsa.

 

MARYSOL. I SEE YOU, GIRL!!! We were not even five minutes in, and she was immediately getting the tea on Alexia and Lisa. And she was moving subtly, but she was definitely moving the stories along. I am not used to her being pro-active in this reboot, but I loved it. Shades of her earlier persona of businesswoman. And it was minor, but I loved that she was bringing Steven round with her.

 

And now...let me get to Episode 2 on this semi-holiday day.

What you are missing is Dr. Nicole. She anchored the show and Team Newbies. That's why not giving Kiki a mojito was a big mistake, because she could have balanced out the cast. 5 is just too small. Even with the FOHs.

But make no mistake, I am really enjoying my Miami fix. Coke scandals. Alexia giving us Telenovela realness with that Todd tea. "Big apartment -- rented. Fancy car -- rented."  Marysol is cute with her hubby. Guerdy & Russell. And Adriana is back to brunette and looks FANTASTIC. Once Alexia gets wind of Marysol's true feelings regarding Todd, it's going to get spicy.

RHOM

 

MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.

 

But this was more to my liking. It took me most of the episode to realize that it was only Larsa and Lisa in Milan while the other ladies stayed home. That was pretty ballsy of Production. But it shows how strong the drama is with this show that it can have a 'subplot' shipped off to another country while more drama goes on back home.

 

I liked that there were things going on, but basically these were just individual scenes with little light parties. And light shade. Looking at you, Alexia, for not inviting Guerdy and Adriana to that dinner. Speaking of...

 

ALEXIA. I cannot believe that she didn't invite Adriana or Guerdy to see their mutual friend because she felt they would make it all about them when she took the dinner and made it all about HER. I was rolling my eyes as I hollered. Cuz she was spilling that tea! lol. Meanwhile, I love that Production is piggybacking to the Alexia/Marysol tension from the reunion cliffhanger. I am anticipating an explosion between the two of them that has been a long time coming. 

 

GUERDY. I was surprised that she was showing us EVERYTHING with her recovery. And it's been fascinating for me to watch. And I enjoyed her kiki at the beginning with Adriana and Kiki. 

 

JULIA. GIRL, STOP. She stayed playing by having Guerdy's name in her mouth and running with that false narrative. Is Alexia really worth all this? And for all of that, she gave shades of the Julia I loved during the dinner by comforting Alexia. But next week...it looks like the episode where the alleged drink throw happened so we will see how it goes for her. Her lunging was not a good look.

 

LISA. QUEEN. lol. I mean MILAN!!!  First of all, the transition between Miami and Milan!!! Second of all, the scenery!!!! And then that fashion show (and Lisa looking boss bitca in that leather dress and that hair) was chef's kiss!!! And I love that the feud between her and Larsa has enough legs that it came travel to a whole other country. Cuz omg! Them on the same plane! Them in the same car! Larsa doing selfies during Lisa's walk to which Lisa blew her a kiss unbothered! Then a celebrity popping in to resolve things...while being TeamLisa btw...that was hilarious. 

 

LARSA. Lord, she stayed coming for Jody, didn't she? lol. But she gave as good as she got in this feud so far. I found her interacting with her son and just being in that influencer world fascinating. But I didn't like how she kept starting stuff with Lisa. And then to resolve it FINALLY only for her to go to the well again next week...le sigh. 

 

Honorable mention this week: Marysol. She is REALLY moving the stories this season and doing it so effortlessly. I'm finding myself watching her more than I have since the ole Miami days.

I think you are right. And...yeah, I'm even picking on how short my thoughts are because it's only (for now) 5 Housewives. I hope they are not waiting for Stephanie to drop the taglines though. lol.

Yes and as always, it's the best show on Bravo!

The biggest surprise for me this far is that for once I'm taking Larsa's side. It took Jody morphing into a creep for me to appreciate the brilliance of Larsa. She is immature and her delivery is harsh but she is right this time.

Alexia always has such a fascinating life but I'm over Todd and disappointed she'd stay with him after the way he left her. Frankie is the heart of the show and to know he'd move out in front of him is unforgivable. If it were Peter or someone else that would be one thing but he had to know that would confuse Frankie and cause him stress. I get that Alexia depends on men to survive but she can find another man. 

Another thing that has my eye is Julia vs Guerdy. I've never been a big Guerdy fan. I felt like in previous seasons she tried too hard and struggled to find a solid place in the ground. Last season she overcame that and now I do think she fits in perfectly with the cast. Julia, on the other hand, has been one of my favorites since she first appeared. This season I can't stand Julia. I hate a housewife who makes up a story but this one is so poorly done and clearly made up that I hope EVERYONE drops her. This needs to be her last season.

Beyond that, I'm loving everything. Everybody is wonderful and I can't wait for the future episodes. I'm glad Miami is back because Atlanta was not doing it for me. I feel like we're about to have a good run with Miami, OC and then Salt Lake. I hope Peacock ends up showing London but I have a Hayu subscription and a VPN so I'll be watching that either way!

I co-sign everything you've mentioned. We're in for a good run with Miami, OC, and then Salt Lake City. Beverly Hills and Atlanta have been major disappointments, so it's nice to be enjoying a HW franchise again.

Miami has this lush, splashy, telenovela saturation of colour that none of the other franchises can touch. It really feels like you're there with the rest of the housewives.

Alexia's "Fake apartment...fake car" monologue was fabulous.

Housewives back in the day would sometimes only feature one, or two, housewives on a vacation without the other women. 

 I think I recall on RHOBH, Camille in season 1 would be in Hawaii with all of her friends.. and she was so fascinating that it worked.

I remember on RHOC in season 4... Tamra would go on trips with her hubby to see family, Gretchen went to a college reunion in Texas solo, and Vicki/Jeana would go on trips to Mexico with the kids.... and it was a lot of fun.

So if Miami wants to feature Lisa/Larsa having a girls trip to Milan.... I say I'm all for it.   Isn't there a rumor that they had a falling out during the season?  If so, it's nice to see the fun times before the drama hits the fan LOL

 

Poor Julia.... she is such a newbie when it comes to reading and/or stirring the pot.  As Cynthia once said on Atlanta 'You gotta make sure the reads hit the people that need the reads... not all over the place.'.... Julia is aiming at the wrong person.

They sure did and it was great and gave excellent content over several episodes.

Dorinda got to meet with her great friend, Trinny Woodall, and had an entire scene with her. That never would have happened with a whole cast trip.

The idea of a 'whole cast' is part of a problem. The fact that it's thought of as a 'cast' is also a problem because it reduces the organic interaction within the group.

I mean in the CURRENT crop of HW shows. It's part of the reason that it really stood out for me. Partly because it was soooo well done that it took half of the episode for it to clip that they were the only ones there. That's a strength to the franchise. And another reason why RHOM is the best because it is giving OLD Housewives like you mentioned. And a whole other country just felt like a classy flex. Which I loved. 

 

Most of the current HW shows could try it and it would flop.

You know what? I honestly don't know. lol. Another thing that RHOM is good at is that I know very little of the season (same for SLC recently filmed season and OC's recently filmed season) so I didn't know they fell out though I can see why with Larsa gunning for Lisa's man and we know how Lisa is about her man. 

 

I think the only thing I know about this season actually is Nicole making cameos and the rumor about Julia and the glass throw...which I believe we will get the truth of next week.
