Another great episode.

 

The tension in the scenes involving Gizelle, her ex, and their children is so uncomfortable. Like, Gizelle, what are you thinking?! The kids sense something is really off. And they're right.

 

Loving Karen v. T'Challa. That makes me laugh every time. I also like that at the Sip and See, Karen was *not* going to let things spiral and ensured that Candiace v. Monique didn't escalate. That was the right thing to do.

 

Meanwhile, you have Gizelle coming across like like an ugly villain while Charisse is this irrelevant sow sitting on that couch as her excess weight crushes together in her midsection. That rumour is just so ugly and damaging, I think Gizelle should be off the show for opening her ugly mouth about it.

 

It's a pity to see Wendy and Karen not get along, but I hope they see their similarities.

Agreed, and I actually wanted to clarify lol.... the current cast isn't that unlikable (except Kelly Dodd who I can't stand), but there's no star power here. Shannon and Kelly are the biggest draws??  Otherwise you have blah Emily, blah Gina, blah Braunwyn.  Ho-hum.....

 

However, in the days of Alexis, Gretchen... oy, those were toxic years IMO.

They may have been toxic, but they were extremely watchable. There is nothing in me that wants to watch Emily or Gina who somehow are on their THIRD SEASON WHILE ADDING NOTHING, or Braunwyn. And Kelly Dodd has completely lost me during Covid. So that leaves Shannon and some new girl I don't care about. 12 episodes is perfect.

So basically the RHOD (and even Potomac) formula. We have been discussing it for ages. The foreign HW shows definitely prove that it's a sound idea. And perhaps OC will get some of their identity back. I would maybe add on one more episode and then 2 part (ONLY) reunion for a 15 season maybe?

So much good. I looked at the clock at one point and realized I only had 15 MINUTES. Time flies when you are having fun. And this FLEW.

 

I am actually going to start with the promo for next week. Interesting. Someone already mentioned would it not be funny if while the focal point was supposed to be Monique vs Candiace if it turned into Gizelle vs Candiace. Perhaps a possibility which would be hilarious.

 

Oh...and Twitter already revealed that the restaurant shut down, opened up for a minute, and is now permanentely closed. I felt sorry for Gizelle's kids.

 

I didn't have much to say about Sunday's episode. It was just that good for me. And I hollered at Karen and the singing tellegram. Hollered.

 

See, other housewives. Light fun with the drama. Not so hard, no?

 

KAREN. She continues to bring all kinds of fun (her vs T'Challa) and wisdom...how for the most part she has stayed out of the Candiace gang-ups. Been there, done that, made a movie, got new money. LOL!!! My own worry about her is that this tension between her and Wendy is building and I like Wendy so far. I thought they made up so I am sadden to see so much drama online. Hope it settles.

 

GIZELLE. STOP TRYING TO KILL THE DYNAMIC BY FORCING PEACE BETWEEN ASHLEY AND CANDIACE!!! If it happens at all, it will be because the two girls want it to. Not because you want it to. And we know no friendship with her and Monique will last as long as she gives shady THs. Shades of this past season's Kenya/Porsha?

 

ROBYN. Hehe at Candiace telling her to STFU and then going on to treat her like lint. I don't know. Juan seems sincere this time around. Is this for storyline for real or maybe he just saw how he was coming around on film?

 

ASHLEY. *cough*mustbetter*cough* Yes, she is still stirring that pot (with baby on her breast), but maybe it is the fact that I watched the Season 2 reunion that day, but Ashley has definitely softened this season. Old Ashley would be right all up in there, poking the bears...and walrus. But this Ashley is much more about her baby and I loved that she followed Candiace to at least try to mend things.

 

MONIQUE. Queen. Knows what she is doing. Nuff said.

 

CANDIACE. I give her this...she is at least TRYING to not fly off the handle. And I felt she had good points. She wanted to apologize to the Ashley private. Nothing wrong with that. What is wrong is the group thinking they need to keep picking at her for it. At a baby shower no less. I could care so much less about the mike talk given how producers like to manipulate. That said...I am curious to see where the producers are going. It seem like they were Team Candiace and want to get rid of Monique. But Monique is coming up roses, especially in light of her IG LIVE talk. So if someone is going to be taken down...will it be Candiace? Or do the producers have someone else in mind *cough*Gizelle*cough*

 

WENDY. HER FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ARE EVERYTHING in these fights. And I love her intro with her family. And her husband...between him and Chris...I could use some more chocolate in my diet. js.  I am going to need her and Karen to get along.

I thought adding Tamra back was because the start of filming was going slowly..and than Covid hit..and I'm wondering if some good material was filmed in Quarantine.

Meanwhile, while RHOC is going for a shorter season, D'Andra is saying that Season 5 will be LONGER, apparently due to LeeAnne saying somewhere there would be ten. Since she's not on the show this season...things to make you go hmmm.

 

Oh...filming extended to September. And I think they dropped the Jennifer girl to Friend.

 

ETA: I wanted a bit more clarification so apparently Jennifer is still a HW after all. And while they are extending the filming, RHOD is almost done filming their season. Recently did a themed bday party for Dr. Moon.

Sigh. So next week is the finale. That was it? 

 

This has been a truly heinous season. Absolutely nothing happened and but for Denise Richards and Garcelle Beauvais coming in, kicking ass, and being real with these broads, they really would have not had a single storyline. 

 

Dorit has redeemed herself as she refused to join the gang up on Denise. She questioned Brandi so logically that all Brandi could do is explode in an expletive laced rant with a bloated kewpie doll face. Dorit really, really made an effort this season to give everyone a fair shake. Meanwhile...

 

Kyle professing to Brandi's truthfulness is...problematic...thanks to the passage of time. Let's turn back to 2014:

 

 

We then turn to Rinna, going down hard as Garcelle called her ass out, publicly, at that dinner, about how obviously envious she is of Erika and the roles she used to play 18 years ago:

 

 

But why focus on that, or Denise and Garcelle openly discussing that their 20+ year friendships with Rinna were effectively over, when we can focus on the fact that the 'candid' scene Rinna had with her daughter about Garcelle was...how do we say...less than candid. Note the two hats in the same scene:

 

 

All I know is the addition of these two is the only good thing to be said about this season:

 

 

A major reckoning is required at RHOBH because the show is absolutely on life support. They need to clean to focus on the future and leave the problematic past behind. That means embracing Denise, Sutton, and Garcelle. Rewarding Dorit's latent altruism by keeping her on board. Firing the utterly worthless Kyle, the heinous goblin Rinna, the FemBot they call Erika, and that other one.

Why, YES, WE CAN. So much better than that episode of BH was.

 

But to be fair, we knew it was coming once Lipsa starting coming for Garcelle's kids. Add on that new dancing video today and she has poked the bear waaaaay too much and I need Garcelle to gather her ALL...THE...WAY...TOGETHER.
