Kelly is vicious. But if Shannon can't get the better of Vicki, what makes DrunkenLips think she will?

Shouldn't Kelly be thanking Vicki for getting Controlling Michael off her back and happy to sign the divorce papers and alimony settlement? She's been itching to get out of that marriage for years.

Not looking forward to seeing more of Vicki's BF Steve Lodge. He puts me to sleep whenever he hovers in the background.

P.S.: The Page Six article is an interview with Steve Lodge where he brags about being close friends with Michael Dodd and introducing him to his new GF. So technically Vicki didn't set up that love match.

P.P.S.: OC is currently filming. I think somebody wants to drum up hype for the new season after last year's disastrous mess -- and to keep her orange.

ATL

I enjoyed this episode.

My takeaway from the episode is that Marlo, bless her, is unhinged and unwell. Her quickness to anger, and her apparent inability to shake that anger off, becoming totally fixated on her rage, does not demonstrate a healthy outlook.

Nene was the most likeable she's been all season and her conversation with Porsha was mature and flattering to Nene's maturation.

I'm glad they acknowledged how awful that villa was - it was like Bravo was punking them.

All I have to say is that Porsha can NEVER bring up Kenya putting a scepter in her face again. Scepter-gate should be dead and buried after tonight.

I do have to give the show props now as it is FINALLY getting good.

This is why I feel like RHOA needs to be cut down to 12-15 episodes max. This show can no longer be 20+ episodes.

She deserved that karate-kick! Porsha leaned over somebody lying on a deck-chair and tried to straddle/stomp Cynthia in the stomach!

Then charged for a second try!

She dragged Kenya across the studio floor way back then... but Kenya was hated by the viewers at the time so Bravo let it go. Then she got violent with Cynthia -- Cynthia who literally wouldn't raise a hand to a fly. Both times, Carlos King carried Porsha away like she was a little fragile sparrow who injured her wing! She also beat her assistant's ass in an alleyway. Both she and Phaedra should have been fired after last year's debacle, but I guess it pays to be sucking somebody's d*ck at Bravo! Allegedly.

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned and told her Mark got into a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. If this is the case, perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

I've never seen a trainwreck like this in my entire life. 5 pencils and 3 dolls?!!!!!!!!!!! (this little moment starts close to the 7th minute) WOW. THIS IS HAPPENING IN AMERICA?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.

    • This is 100% correct.  It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe.  The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date.  Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona.  It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.

New episode from late 1973 or early 1974!
    • Coronation Street had a very good story where one of the characters befriended a man who she later learned had been involved in her husband's death - when told right it can be very powerful (not like AMC trying to make it a romance). ATWT almost had a big fire in mid-1994, so this seemed to be a "thing" with P&G at the time. I guess it fits the disaster backstage atmosphere.
    •   @jmgaw did not refer to Luke and Laura. Throughout 78 GH's ratings continued to rise as AW's fell. That turnaround was getting a lot of attention in the soap press with Scotty/Laura, Rick/Leslie/Monica etc . So the 90 min decision was a reaction to that. I guess the thinking was that 60 min expansion had worked so starting AW a half hour before might keep viewers from switching to GH at 3pm. I don't think anybody really thought it would work. The most sensible solution would have been to expand The Doctors and hope for a GH like turnaround, but for reasons unknown TD never went to an hour.
