Shannon had interaction with Gretchen on WWHL during s10, and Shannon was cold towards her b/c of what TamRat told her. I'm sure she'd continue to act the same way towards her. If I am not mistaken, they've exchanged words over Twitter b/c of Tamra. I know that her (Shannon) and Lizzie had a Twitter spat last year b/c Lizzie expressed her dislike for the women ganging up on Vicki and Kelly. Shannon popped up on her timeline (mind you, Lizzie did not tweet her) and told Lizzie to mind her business and that she wasn't on the show anymore. Sickening b/c it was Lizzie who backed Shannon in s9 and began to open everyone's eyes to Tamra's shenanigans, which vindicated Shannon. Goes to show that Shannon has loyalty to nobody and will blow with the wind.

This is why I wanted Lizzie/Gretchen back b/c I wanted them to eviscerate Shannon's lame a**, who'd willingly take bullets for Tamra. It would be then that ShanLoon would wake up and realize Trailer Sue is no one's friend.

You left out Stacey...which says it all about her worth, doesn't it?

If Dawn is back that leaves room for explosive drama with Leanne. That said, Ampika drove so much story for the show and it was a better show because she was a part of it. She'd be taking a lot of the glamour and fierceness of Cheshire with her. I love Lauren but without Ampika what will she be doing? Ester was a total dud and a pig so I don't foresee myself to watching the show on a committed basis.

Without Dawn and Ampika, this show is a borefest. Even if Magali were to return (and there's no indication she plans to), she needs an alpha female like Dawn and Ampika to play off of. The others, bless their hearts, just do not have the X factor to carry the show.

Jill Zarin had a big event for thyroid cancer (which she has been doing for some years now). The sad news is that Bobby's thyroid cancer has mutated into an anaplastic thyroid cancer, for which there is no treatment. Anyway, lots of HWs showed up this weekend in support of Jill, including Ramona, Luann and Tinsley. It's pics like this which show how well Jill still fits into the RH firmament.

She sure has! Personally I don't think MacDonald is interesting enough for it, but she did try to jump on the Brandi Glanville train that very last season she was on the show. BH even showed Brandi interviewing her for her podcast.

ok so I believe (but it's not been officially confirmed) that from left to right, it goes:

Cindy (ex-NY, looks like a completely different person), Marysol (ex-Miami, looks 80), Giselle (Potomac, best she's ever looked), Stephanie Hollman (Dallas, recently donated a kidney to someone! wow! I'm so impressed, I'm not going to comment on her clogs), Luann, Ramona, Tinsley, Jill Zarin, Pettifleur (ex-Melbourne, overdressed), Adriana de Moura (ex-Miami, looks incredible), Kathy Walkile (ex-NJ), Heather MacDonald (wannabe), Kelly (ex-NY).

I think Cynthia and Nene went too! Cynthia, Jill and Luann are apparently close.

Hope they raised lots of funds for thyroid cancer research!

l-r: Cindy, Marysol, Giselle, Stephanie, Luann, Ramona, Tinsley, JILL, Pettifleur, Adriana, Kathy, Heather, Kelly.

    • There is no dispute that Jill Farren Phelps had a successful career in daytime based on longevity, but that does not preclude discussion and dislike of her decisions at various shows. Sure there may have been some misogyny involved BITD(we don't know as I don't recall JFP ever mentioning that) but the head of CBS Daytime at that point was a woman and there were other women involved BTS. I think that so long as an EP could deliver, or at least talk a good game they would be respected.
    • It surprises/disappoints me too that GL's ratings during '89-'93 don't reflect the quality of the show. But when I call it great soap, I'm not defining that by ratings either.  I'm probably in the minority, but I think Reilly takes something intangible with him when he goes. There's a sense of humor that just disappears in '93.
    • Ok, I know nothing about Another World except their catchy intro song from long ago, but this makes me want to catch!  That crazy mother keeping her son's girlfriend or wife hostage, wow!
    • And maybe Hotel could have been placed at 9pm Tues instead of Paper Dolls. Not that I thing it was a surefire thing but at least viewers were familiar with the show and it might have done better than PD. ABC's line up was pretty threadbare at that point. And with a big guest star to launch the season - Elizabeth Taylor- the numbers would have been there initially.
    • Any fan of RuPaul would dispute calling any of these examples “drag”. A costume?, A disguise?, A lame attempt at humor? -- yes -- Drag? -- nope
    • No asterisk. I meant that the circumstances during the first year were in her favor.
    • Maybe I am misunderstanding you? Are you suggesting that her success at GL should have an asterisk next to it because she was smart enough to exploit a weakness in the marketplace to gain ratings?  Note: Try not to take this personally—I’m not accusing anyone of being consciously misogynistic. I’m simply proposing that the origins of certain ideas about Ms. Phelps—such as claims that she was unprepared or a poor manager of her writing staff—may be rooted in misogyny. Perhaps, with the benefit of hindsight, it's worth reconsidering those opinions. At the very least, imagine being one of the few women in the room while a male network executive tries to decide what women want to watch during the day. That context has certainly led me to reassess many of my own long-held views.
    • Through 78 and 79 under Marland and Pat Falken smith GH was still heavily hospital based with a mix of storylines. The Doctors would have been fine had they followed that template. Once GH went with Ice Princess all bets were off.Who knows how much TD would have copied that direction? And OLTL, DOOL went in that direction quite heavily while other shows dabbled in far out stories. The thing is that TD was well set up for an expansion.

    • Aaron Spelling still had clout with ABC in Fall 1984, as I think they knew he was going to pull out all the stops for Dynasty to get to #1, which he did. That's probably why ABC kept Hotel as Dynasty lead out. Fall 1985 with the sale to Capital Cities and Brandon Stoddard arrival, Aaron Spelling would lose his clout with ABC.
