Sonja is a barely functioning alcoholic who was just coasting on Ramona's friendship and her social connections (as frayed as they are). She has absolutely no common sense or a good eye for business and what's worse is that she refused to even consider any of Ramona's good advice.

She should have been smart and realized a long time ago that her best chance of success was to stick with Miss Pinot....unless she gets it together and stops acting a like a train wreck I think I'm done with her.

So after reading that article about the NY going ons.. why did the show insist on bringing back Luann?!?! She didn't fit in really in season 5 so why bring her back when apparently they had one or two women in the wings if reports are true.

Sonja vs Ramona and Carole vs Aviva sound interesting and why is Heather being chastised for promoting her line when that is the MO for a housewife nowadays? Though I can't wait to see Ramona's reactions to Aviva's attempts to befriend and hug her.. will be entertaining just for Romona's reactions alone.

Ramona took over quite nicely once Bethanny and Jill left so if she wants to believe she's the Joan Collins of the show then who cares.. it isn't hurting anyone.

Let's get real here JackPeyton, Gretchen is a lying liar who lies. Vicki's a piece of work, but Gretchen is no better. The filming date is irrefutable and Heather has no reason to lie about that and make an ass of herself. Gretchen is angry, bitter and sleazy, she's learned from Slade.

Absolutely. Ramona is the star of this show and anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't been paying attention. Bethenny burned herself out and Jill was eclipsed by the ensemble as a whole before imploding in failure. Ramona is a survivor. She is unsinkable. She makes the show.

It'll be interesting to see how Sonja functions. When she's sober and together she can be amazingly effective, like when she laid down the law with Aviva at lunch after their trip to St Bart's...Sonja, sober, is calm, cool, collected and savvy. The problem is she's a mess if she isn't on her A Game. Ramona kept her ass in line.

Sonja is just so tired. BTW, has anybody seen Alex McCord with her new brown hair? She looks gorgeous. It really works for her. I would post a picture, but I'm at work so I'm not able to search for one. I wish OLTL would bring her back either as her old character or a new one. She'd fit on AMC too.

It's gotten to the point where Melissa and her shenanigans don't even get me angry at her anymore I'm just annoyed at myself for continuing to watch and support this garbage. From here on out I'm just going to read recaps and watch whatever catches my interest and come back for the reunion because I really can't anymore with them acting like Tre is the epitome of evilness.

As much I wanna join you I'm hooked on this stupidity. Even though half the cast is just ridiculous and/or boring I still find moments of laughter and happiness whenever Tre and her girls are oh. Even Joe Guidice seems mellowed out more this season and he was cracking me up at that soccer practice Miliania and Gia had

Teresa is looking so flawless in her individual camera interviews....just stunning

NO Jacquiline YOU'RE the one who looked insane during that exchange

Kim D is such a sh****t stirrer and its so ridiculous but I love every second of it cuz she owns it!!!

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned and told her Mark got into a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. If this is the case, perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.

    • This is 100% correct.  It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe.  The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date.  Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona.  It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.

New episode from late 1973 or early 1974!
    • Coronation Street had a very good story where one of the characters befriended a man who she later learned had been involved in her husband's death - when told right it can be very powerful (not like AMC trying to make it a romance). ATWT almost had a big fire in mid-1994, so this seemed to be a "thing" with P&G at the time. I guess it fits the disaster backstage atmosphere.
    •   @jmgaw did not refer to Luke and Laura. Throughout 78 GH's ratings continued to rise as AW's fell. That turnaround was getting a lot of attention in the soap press with Scotty/Laura, Rick/Leslie/Monica etc . So the 90 min decision was a reaction to that. I guess the thinking was that 60 min expansion had worked so starting AW a half hour before might keep viewers from switching to GH at 3pm. I don't think anybody really thought it would work. The most sensible solution would have been to expand The Doctors and hope for a GH like turnaround, but for reasons unknown TD never went to an hour.
