Oh my goodness... LOL

Cat, your summary of BH's episode last week just reminds me why this franchise is the best. There is literally something juicy nearly every week! Can't even say that about ATL these days. (Or Jersey)

Well she doesn't own being black but she's owning her role as a villian. She isn't playing victim and act all innocent and naive like her friends. She goes in guns blazing and makes no apologies nor excuses for it. She's a bitch and doesn't try and act like she isn't

I think last season was much better than this one. This season didn't have many memorable moments and it always felt like we were waiting for it to pick up momentum. As much as I enjoyed Kenya, it was obvious she was playing for the cameras, which was annoying. I understand Sheree needed to go, but she went out with a bang IMO, including that fabulous reunion.

She does make excusus for it. She doesn't see herself as out of line or being a bitch. She acts like she is just and doing the right thing. Thats not owning being a bitch. She's delusional. And completely phony and desperate to be a wife. Has it been confirmed she wasn't even invited to the reunion?

Agreed. Well, if you want to consider the fight with Marlo a bang... We need someone to post a couple gifs of their fight with the hand gestures, LOL.

Afterward, she went out like a total punk trying to stir up drama with Black Babygate. In the end at the reunion, the only one saying "but it sounds racist!" was her. Nobody else agreed.

When I say Sheree went out with a bang, I mean that she was still providing unforgettable moments in RHOA history. The fight with Nene that opened the season, the RIDICULOUS Chateau Sheree mess which STILL is spawning parody videos, the epic reunion performance where everybody laid into her, her son sleeping on the air mattress, the fight with Bob, Marlo, etc. Yes she was pathetic, but that stuff was great tv. These season we have all the women on the sidelines treading water. Nene for example has been absolutely useless. The chemistry isn't there with the current cast. As soon as Kim left it went downhill.

Yeah, I'm already starting to see that. I finished the first disc. I'll get more soon. I can already see the start of the Nene/Kim feud. The feud feels kind of fake, so far (with Kim suddenly BFF with Sheree to cause drama), and the friendship seems far more genuine, but clearly this changes.

I like DeShawn's party story, I prefer this slow-builder to endless hysteria and staged screamfests, but I had to skip anything with Eddie Long. That seemed to go on forever in the episode. No interest in seeing him.

I hadn't expected that whole serious story about Nene's father. I couldn't tell how staged the psychic scenes were but that whole story felt very "real" for modern day reality storytelling.

Kim constantly dogging that poor guy who wrote songs for her...bleh. It's interesting to watch her (although the kid party was boring), but she gives off such a skeevy vibe. I guess you could say they all do, but in the first season, they generally don't. Not so far, at least.

Lisa's husband is gorgeous. They make a gorgeous couple. They seem very natural together and for the camera. I was endlessly amused at how their silly little back and forth session between the guys and gals suddenly became about Sheree putting herself in a 1978 Jill Clayburgh film. Sheree is this weird falling star presence, like a more sophisticated Little Edie or Norma Desmond, combined. It's fascinating to watch, because it's all so calculated.

    • The only blonde I see is one of the actual women staring at first & then screaming & running later.  DAYS: Vivian's manservant Ivan is in a long curly red wig.

Y&R: long straight black wig is the actor Peter Barton whose character name I am blanking on.
    • I very much liked office Cleary and the actress who portrayed her (as you say, Mary Peterson).  A shame her turn didn't evolve into a contract role.   BTW, does anyone know the timeframe/years that Betty Rae served as casting director?  If i understand correctly, she not only led the effort for contract roles, but also for shorter 13- and 26-week roles.  IMO, GL had LOTS of very well-casted, limited roles, too. I'm surprised the actors throughout the soap industry, and especially P&G actors, have not assembled a book or something similar, praising Rae.  Each actor could write a few paragraphs or a page of text describing his or her experience.
    • No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.
    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
