That is SO funny because I was listening from the other room, and I heard all this talking from Marty and I could just FEEL the dead air on the other end. Weird.

It was like Easton was sleepwalking through his scenes.

God I can't stand her and Rex. His threatening of Schuyler today was laughable. Someone needs to knock him down a peg or two.

Rex and Schuyler often get compared for their schticky performances, but it's SC who schools JPL in those scenes, he knows when to put it away and get down to business when the scene calls for it.

Spoilerish question:

Do you think Kim's worth recasting? I know they're slashing characters and budget right now, but what a thud of a letdown with Clint and Natalie by losing Kim at this point. AS is so perfect for this role, but I'm trying my darnedest not to fall into that "she's irreplaceable" trap that I criticize others for falling into. And had AS signed on the dotted line, we'd still have Kim anyway (maybe at the expense of another actor?). I don't know, what do you all think?

She was doing everything she could to make the scenes work & Easton just looked at her like an idiot.

He tried to emote at the end when the convo turned all about him & he even screwed THAT up.

John McBain the only character that even gets self involvement wrong.

Word. Rex has a lot of nerve. When he said "once a loser always a loser", what a hypocrite!! He hasn't exactly been a saint. People are supposed to accept that he's changed, but no one else can. Screw you Rex.

That last part was Ronn Moss territory.

When he hugged Susan they looked like two lesbians shopping at Home Depot.

SFK,

I don't think Kim is worth recasting. Most of the drama that could have come out of a Clint/Kim relationship has already been passed by. His family didn't care. Since the family as written are not interested in money or, apparently, anything other than love interests or going back to junior high, they aren't going to be that interested if she tries to take Clint for his money. We already saw how much mileage they got out of a business story -- not a whole lot. So that's out. The idea of Kim screwing around with a younger man while married to Clint is trite and has been done before. The only drama I could see, since the show decided to cut Matthew out of Clint's life and since Viki and his daughters don't care, is if Kim went the Janice Frame route and tried to slowly kill Clint, and I wouldn't want to see that, in part because I wouldn't put it past Frons to have her actually kill Clint.

I think Amanda Setton benefited from a lot of hype and from being compared to Stacy. Kim as a character does little for me, she's just another of the selfish and soulless characters to dominate the canvas, and while I will miss her scenes with Clint, and miss Jerry ver Dorn having a story, something tells me if she had stayed, Clint would not have been interacting with her for too long anyway -- he would either have divorced her or he'd be six feet under.

Carl,

Thanks, very good points. I guess I was looking at it a little too shortsightedly. And it's like what we were talking about yesterday, disappointment was most likely inevitable. :(

I hate how the term "Recovering drug addict" simultaneously means "Practicing drug addict" in Llanview these days.

tell me about it. I wish people would start referring to Rex as that former con artist everytime they see or speak about it. It would only be fair
