AMC: Damon's father is....

I guess my question would be -- is it worth it? Tad is such a depleted character and I don't think yet another child is going to make a difference. They could have had him bond with Damon even without Damon being his biological son. You don't have to make someone a blood relative to existing characters to get viewers to care about them. Tad wasn't related to anyone on the show when he was thrown out of the car all those years ago.

Well said!

But Zach being the father was/is illogical in and of itself! Not to mention, a major assault on his character, as well as Bianca's, and even Kendall's (and good God, if I'm defending Kendall, then you know the story made no sense).

We keep agreeing alot tonight LOL. Also well said ;)

Frankly, I hate that logic. "

But I use the logic because it was the era you brought up. I think it was a good era for the show; I thought it was good then. But like every era, it had flaws. And for some people, hindsight can be 20/20... They may appreciate it now more than they did then, and that's a valid opinion.

Your opinion of her work is different than my own. That's all there is to it.

It's worth it if they explore the Hillary angle, as opposed to her being a means to an end (as in, Hillary amounting to nothing more than an excuse for Tad having a son). From Carmen Thomas' comments, though MEK and Broderick are lobbying for Hillary's return, it appears that ball is now in someone else's court.

Why does the Hillary angle need explored though? She's not even on the show anymore. Tad just got a long lost daughter a few years ago, does he really need ANOTHER long lost child?

If Hillary returns, even for a few episodes, then that would be worth exploring, yes. It would be nice to see reminders of those years between Liza and Dixie. However, I still think that could have been explored without Damon being Tad's son. But who knows.

I want to see Hillary too. Bobbie Eakes is sh*tting bricks.

There are MANY characters "not even on the show anymore." We could always "not explore" anyone off-the-canvas, but something tells me that would make for a very boring scenario.

The Hillary angle would bring a lot to the table for Tad. But if Tad's not hot on some people's priority list, then this isn't really going to matter to them.

Someone put it so eloquently:

This ranks right up there with Jesse having a 19 year old daughter while on the run for 20 years(and while supposedly being institutionalized)

I have no problem with this as I've stated as long as the timeline makes sense (or as much sense as it can make). Yeah, Tad maybe doesn't need a new child.... but if it is used to delve back into the character's past by reconnecting him and Hillary I am all for it. Like I said the only way this has legs is if Carmen Thomas is in the picture. It would certainly be better than the other alternative: Krystal and FauxLiza fighting over Tad... which is what was set to happen by the way.

I guess I am one of the few who was disappointed that was dropped so fast.... considering the Hubbards have been nothing but wallpaper since.

That COULD have been very compelling.

I'm right there with you. The timing of Natalia's age sucked but the concept was good. I'm still hoping Rebecca faked her death.

Like I said before, we need Hillary back for this story to make sense. Did she leave Mitch? Where is she now? What happened between she and Damon that sent him running.

This also introduces a much need Tyler/English to the fray. She is Langley's daughter, and perhaps married to Donna's little brother.

Well, you're watching the wrong medium if you want things to work on perfectly age-wise or history wise.

If Tad left in 1986 and if Hillary and Tad hooked up off screen after 1986, then Damon is no more than 24 years old. It works.

I think he at least has to be over 21. He was working in a bar and then the casino. So...

I think with Bailey he was just into being with a younger chick.

I guess Tad make a comment today about he and Hillary "reconnected"

Ah, yes, I remember very well when Tad ran into Hillary while he was out of town and had a ONS w/ his first real love. It was so touching. So glad AMC honored history this time. [/sarcasm]
