I thought that may have something to do with a redemption arc coming up after all this is done.

But he said he almost did something so horrible, so awful, which was heavily alluding to meeting the guy at the diner. Suggesting the two of them meet up at a sports bar. What could that have been?! Coupled with Rafe and Heather going, "Why did he f*ck us both and lie about it?" What else could that have been an allusion too?

The only thing I got from that is this mystery man thanking Adam for something.

There's no ensemble cast: there's just four main actors and the little actors used to prop them up.

characters- Katherine, Victor, Adam, Billy

We know this show has a history of stealing or poaching ideas from the boards or from eager fans willing to write bad fan fiction. Here's a direct excerpt from one of MarkH's posts, alluding to what I believe the show is planning to do:

There is nothing, nothing, nothing (IMO) that exists to stop Adam from getting to a much better place. I do think it is going to be harder for the smirky-Muhney to accomplish it (something Cara Mia said a million times)...but from a writing perspective it is highly possible. For example, (I've said this before--and this is not my original idea), in my backstory, it will turn out that stepfather Cliff was a sexual abuser who took Adam behind the barn and raped him. Because Hope was blind, she didn't realize. Adam eventually caused the tractor accident that killed Cliff, maybe because Cliff seemed to be a threat to Hope. In that moment, he compartmentalized and became a survivor-at-all-costs. Moreover, in that moment, he became open to any kind of sexual activity if it served his ends. (Maybe Cliff said "have sex with me, or I'll kill your mother"...suddenly, going down on Rafe is not such a stretch for him). With that backstory, ultimately premised on Victor's neglect of his son (he was not a compensating force), we can understand and heal Adam.

Fair recognition: First, someone will come in here and lambaste me for writing "spec scripts" and "rationalizing". Someone else will say "Don't write this down, or the writers will steal it". A third will say, "Ah, you people with psychology backgrounds--you can rationalize anything".

I recognize these things, but I still believe there is much hope and potential for Adam.

The man with his son meeting up with Adam was so telling, IMO. Adam didn't want to have sex with the guy because his son would be in the room or potentially be a victim, the way Brokeback Clint victimized him. That's what's in Sharon's letter.

If TPTB were going to do that they could AT LEAST do it from someone who knew what they were talking about.

Maria: But we KNOW what we're talking about. That story idea just *popped.* Best one in twenty years! But of course, we don't let fans dictate story.

Forget Cliff Wilson! Hope left with Kurt Costner in 1997 right? Kurt will turn out to be a child molester who raped Adam. Since it was Ashley who got Kurt to stay in town Adam blames her for bringing Kurt into their lives. Ashley feels so guilty she breaks down but not before apologizing to Adam and forgiving/understanding his actions. How's that for you?

Whatever works, I guess.

Some are speculating that it's either the REAL ADAM or some identical twin.

Remember that scene back when they were hyping Billy as an honorary Newman, not long after Delia was born, when Billy and Victor were talking and Victor trashed Cliff as a father? In the show's actual history, Billy died a year or two, if that, after Adam was born. So them rewriting that just to try to make him look bad does suggest they are waiting to do a real number on him. I always liked Cliff a lot :(

The Real Adam is a British dinner theater extra in Kenosha.
