The one thing i find weird is the constantly scrolling "General Hospital" on the bottom. Or at the very least during the front city shot and final title card. Looks tacky as hell. I like it during the character shots but it's still weird.

If they could do that to GH, imagine what they would do to OLTL and AMC.

I love how in the one shot with Spinelli and Monica, the ambulance looks like it's about to plow that poor orderly!

That's because it is! lol. There was a leak of laughing gas in the ambulance which sent the Paramedics (and their patient who incidentally at one point was rumored to be Brenda) into uncontrollable fits of laughter and caused the driver to drive erratically, nearly plowing into the poor orderly.

Its from a scene from the first episode of Nightshift.

After the ambulance was stopped, somebody lit a cigarette and it blew up with the mysterious Jane Doe still inside, but Jason saved her.

So the GH opeining is basically recycled Nightshift shots? Interesting.

Who is that on the rooftop of the hospital with the camera moving away from them? Was that Patrick/Robin?

The rooftop CGI was definitely from the first episode of NightShift, Season 1. Patrick and Robin were on the CGI roof looking at the CGI sun set over their CGI city.

OT but... oh Sri Rao. How I miss you. :(

Nice concept (kind of retro Faces of the Heart plus the billings) but his opening is so cheap and the shots are horrid. Maybe with less awful shots of several people (not to be offensive, but do blind people work at ABC studios' photo department!?) it would be tolerable. Not that the opening is GH's main problem, though... I somehow like Geary's final pose yet again.

No, that's not the same as the night shift episode. When it happened in NIGHTshift it was in a huge parking lot somewhat away from the hospital. I dont think it is the same shot.

Do you mean the ambulance almost knocking down the orderly? Coz that happens on the side street just before the ambulance enters the parking lot.

Take a look from 3:25

Oh hell, you're right! I thought it happened in a different way.

That's funny that they put that in the GH credits...Since it's from NIGHTshift.

So they basically recycled everything from Nightshift for this new main title sequence? Including the SUV that sideswipes Edward and Tracy?

How cheap.

Yeah, the only things that were original in the whole opening sequence are the pans of the original hospital, like behind certain peoples shots, and like th shots of Wyndemere and the Casino in the background.

I think the skyline in the opening shot is originally from nightshift, and the shot of the ambulance and maybe the SUV too...So it's like a mixture.

Hey, I'm not complaining, because at least we get too SEE the hospital in this one.

I ended up watching the first episode of Nightshift and I'm pretty sure the SUV is actually Jason's one from Nightshift, the pan of the hospital behind Alexis and Kristina was definitely used on Nightshift (though was also used earlier in the previous opening), Wyndemere may have been used during the Black and White ball, the skyline shot was from Nightshift's opening. I actually like that they have recycled some of these shots because it does give a sense of consistency.

Heck after watching the first episode of Nightshift I noticed there was even an elevated Freeway located near the hospital which was recycled for when Claudia was gloating to Ric just before she took her fateful CGI drive along Harborview Drive last year.
