I don't think she (VR) ragged on Darius she's just speaking from fans' perspective feedback. Sounds to me like she's saying Darius is a solid actor and she even suggests creating a new role in it's entirety but he is not Shemar. I don't know why she threw the question out there about Y&R being able to afford Shemar but for once Nelson's soap geist was an interesting read

I'd sadly say that TV is in general. And yeah--Ellen Holly is an example of what you just said as well (though she was laid off just cuz Rauch wanted Llanview white not cuz of anything backstage AFAIK )

They have no need to recast her, because they don't have any need for black people anyway. If they ever recast Dru it will probably be to spite VR or spite fans, not for any other reason. Either that or have her as a psycho who is used to make us weep for Lily.

Things got really bad during her last stint.

They kept squeezing Eva Larue into tops that were too small for her boobs. Not in a sexy way either, they looked like they might pop. I thought that was so cheap and lazy on their part. I know she's had similar problems in CSI: Miami. I know Emily Procter refuses to have scenes with David Caruso and it's VERY obvious when you watch. With Larue I heard she had an affair with him. Who knows.

And wasn't John married when he started messing with Eva, and then he (and perhaps she too?) cheated again which led to their breakup? As the old saying goes, the way you get a man/woman is the way you lose a man/woman.

Why won't Procter have scenes with Caruso?

I assume because of sexual harassment of some sort. I watched the first 10 episodes of this season and they never appear together. They work on the same team and are good friends, but always seem to miss each other. When she was in the hospital, he rushed over to see her, but they never showed him in her hospital room. He was outside talking to other visitors. It was strange. Now that Eddie Cibrian is in the cast they've been limiting his role overall.
