Worst rewrite/changing of history

I wanted a son for her, forever. I still want one for (since to me, Josh was never her son). I always pictured her having the kind of relationship with her son that she and Josh had. He would have been her biggest fan, harshest critic, and would have understood her on levels that her daughters never could. Erica with a son should have been a storyline that was wonderful and emotional filled. Instead, they tried to go with sci-fi trash that made Erica into the self bitch who had an abortion and Madden a God among men who "saved" Josh. (I have never seen the Martins' crawl further up someone's ass...at least until they found out what he did to Dixie.) I liked Colin as an actor and had they not screwed over Josh from the start he had the makings of being the perfect son for her.

Haha, sorry...this is a sore subject for me and the reason I no long watch AMC on any kind of basis.

Jessica not being Clint's daughter

The Victor Lord reincarnation and any reincarnation of Mitch Laurence

The repeated rewrites of how/when Niki Smith came into being

Larry Wolek keeping secret that Viki gave birth to Megan Gordon

Turning fair-minded Clint into a homophobe to validate Viki having an affair with Sloane.

ATWT: Brad was the good guy in his marriage to Carly when really he wasn't. The whole Cabot and Jordan are Stenbecks debacle. Tom and Margo apparently knowing all about Adam's misdeeds all along when in reality Casey only went to jail to cover the whole thing up to spare his parents from such information about Adam. The Z Twins.

B&B: Ridge's isn't Eric's son. The wax dummy in the coffin.

Days: Basically the typical "The DiMeras faked it!" excuses. Georgia never died, she is Chelsea! I grew to really like Chelsea, but it was a huge stretch for a stillborn child to turn out to be Chelsea. Not Same with EJ being Elvis, I would had accepted it better if EJ was the son of Tony and Anna.

GL: Maryanne Carruthers twisted everything to hell. The history of Daisy/Susan Lemay being erased for the most part.

That sums it up nicely. Next thing you know is that they'll say Jill killed Phillip in a car accident not a drunk Katherine.

Days - Neil Curtis is Sarah Horton's bio dad,not Evan Whyland.

Neil Curtis is in fact Allen Jackson, despite the fact that his father and nephew/cousin(?)were seen onscreen and had the name Curtis.

Marlena had been married to Alex North and forgot all about it.

Y&R - Carl Williams mysteriously disappeared, causing trauma for his family, and was an amnesiac going by the name Jim Bradley.None of that

played onscreen at the time, until Carl turned up.

Everyone in town knew Patty shot Jack.

Oh, that was one of the worst. Marlena's parents never told her that she had been married before? Did she not remember her youth, or did she somehow just block out that marriage? Why was Alex so intent on remarrying her just to beat the hell out of her again?! None of that fit in anywhere.

Now that I think about it, your right lol. I guess I just thought of it as a rewrite, because B&E were writing for AMC during Kendall's infidelity with Aiden, and then Pratt wrote months later that Zach went to Paris after all that and gave Bianca his sperm.

Either way, I thought it was all HORRIBLE! If Bianca would have come back pregnant, but with an anonymous doners child (or anyone else OTHER than Zach--her sisters husband!)...things would have been so much better, and Zendall wouldn't have had to go through all of that drama after Kendall woke up, and Reese and Zach might have not been so close.

Is this someone you should be dealing with? I got the drama on lock. Leave it to me. You are my sister. You have loved & protected me every moment I've been in this world. It's my turn to stand up for you.

    • I just watched it, it was decent, looking forward to Martin's secret. Glad to get info on why the children were aged up!
    • !!! I felt the same. Martin secret has always been my favorite storyline.  I happen to Andre's wardrobe but it ages him. They have a grandpa vibe.

, Facts! I would like to see something like that in Daytime. Both of y'all can back up off my husband! Tomas couldn't shine his shoes.
    • Brandy was an odd mish-mash of a character. A radical during her college days, then a journalist/romance writer, I believe? But not so much of a radical that she had a problem chasing millionaire Alan, LOL. The actress, JoBeth Williams, went on to have a pretty good movie and prime time career.
    • Bill attempts to use Smitty to send a veiled thread to Martin.

Thought I’d share this video featuring Cathy Carricaburu, now Foxhoven, who played Nancy Becker from 1976-1978.

She talks a little about her acting career starting around the 6 minute mark and briefly mentions Y&R. I’d be interesting to see some of her work on Y&R since it seems to be her most notable role.
    • I believe Henry Slesar intended that the Paige/Nola plot would play out over three to six months and Paige would be the new younger ingenue; but a few things happened. Sharon Gabet didn't renew her contract and the audience didn't like the Paige/Brian romance as it flirted with incest. Kim Hunter revealed in an interview that she as slated for 3 months but Henry asked her to stay on for an additional period. I watched Edge during this period when it originally aired and Margaret Colin was not great in the role. She seemed very green among the vets as was the dude playing Brian. He was poorly cast which was unusual for Edge.  I think Henry started to get pressure from ABC and P&G to jazz up the show given what was exploding under Monty on GH at the time. I loved Kim as Nola and all the stories it generated for others. Miles and Deborah in particular. But the next who dunnit plot in this period was not one of Henry's best (at least for me the culprit and explanation were lame for Henry).
    • Bill and the performer are the strongest male character and actor on this show.  Yeah, how I see it too. you pair your best young female with one of the weakest screams sabotage to me.  I like this idea, it doesn't make things too predictable. I would buy that!
