No, I'm pretty sure not. I have sort of vague memories of that first 60-minute episode (like, I remember a location shot -- interior -- where Paul went to meet Carl...like inside a courthouse or something). Victor wasn't a part of that.

Now you have me curious to hunt down exact dates!

ETA: The body language and frozen facial expressions in some of those shots was just amazing. Could Jeanne Cooper and Melody Thomas Scott and Doug Davidson REALLY not have been there?? Since Adrienne Frantz and Doug Davidson both trashed his public contract complaints, I'm not surprised they were there. But Bergman also trashed him...so the shot of those two standing there with a small safe distance is very cool. Joshua Morrow didn't attend either? And of course not TheStafford. Or were these folks there but just not photographed? Inquiring minds want to know....

There's a real awkwardness in a number of them, and in some, I wonder how much alcohol was consumed.

Liz Hendrickson has a "get away from me" vibe in both her photos.

Does Amelia Heinle ever look happy?

How is it that we see more of Tonya Lee Williams in these photos than we have on Y&R in over six months?

Some of these photos seem to be speaking to fans.

MAB: Look at how sedately I'm dressed! This is my All About Eve dress.

Billy Miller: I HAVE BIG TEETH! I'M OWNING IT!

Poor lady who played Sabrina. I never thought she was unattractive, I just thought she looked exotic, but that clown lipstick does her no favors. Does she borrow makeup from Frantz?

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Young_and_the_Restless) says that the first day of 60-minute episodes was February 4, 1980.

Eric Braeden's first day -- according to IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000967/filmoseries#tt0069658)-- was allegedly 2 February, 1980. I did not remember them being that close in time.

But IMDB has to be wrong, because 2/2 was a Saturday! http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/?year=1980 So that doesn't coincide with either a Canadian or a US episode. It will be interesting to see if we can find the real date. Maybe when these pics hit the soap mags, they'll have an actual first date. I also searched Meg Bennett, who debuted on the same day...nothing.

She really does.

No. In her defense, since November 2007, we've seen her with infants that are up all night. In this pic, she's only about 1.5 months post-partum AND she has already been back at work for a few weeks.

It is lovely she's there! She looks happy, and Braeden doesn't look so frozen with her.

Rowell tweeted that she was there (she met Muhney for the first time, and they were a mutual admiration society)...but she didn't make any pictures. So this is partly some CBS publicist's idea of what should be shown.

I wonder if it was at all awkward to have Rowell there...since she lobbied so heavily for her job...and her bad blood with Bergman. The whole affair must have been utterly WEIRD.

It is more than the lipstick. She's shiny, with dark circles under her eyes. This is a woman who clearly profited from the makeup department, and she suffers for the lack of it.

Or Joshua Morrow or Michelle Stafford.

But Melody has been a clear public supporter. She was at his Walk-of-Fame star unveiling. She was at his The Man Who Came Back premiere (the one Morrow and Heinle showed up for, but were turned away because they didn't have tickets). So I wonder if her absence is more of a protest regarding whatever sh!tty contract she's under. (With her lack of appearances, I'm feeling like she "won" having no pay cut, but her guarantee has been cut to zilch. Something is truly odd).

I'm hoping for other pics of the event (on twitter, in the mags, somewhere)...so we can see who else was there.

Well, we're seeing that with both Case and Muhney. And Braeden specifically named them -- and Melody -- as his "supporters" during the contract break. So this is now his "inner circle".

This is why I'm distrusting all those Muhney tweets that make it sound like he's leaving. I think he's under Braeden's protection, and even now, I think that still means something. But maybe I'm wrong...

    • I wish I cared about the homeless lady as much as everyone else seems to. After the nothing burger that was the lawsuit, this just feels like another boring Naomi storyline at Orphy Genes since she has no office.
    • That's great to hear. Thanks. I wish that was more readily available.
    • Just learned that Clifton Davis wrote this song!  I had no idea.

    • I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.
    • Yassss....come on Maurice and Brandon...give us nothing!!! Wow, their need to develop their craft shone like a blinding light this episode. Brandon in his Martin and Smitty scenes sounded like he was reading and the facial expressions were giving Disney Channel. He did much better against Maurice in the Martin v Ted scenes. Now, Teddd-dyy (Dana's voice) was just flat. I watched the episode just now after reading the comment on here that Maurice needs to stop swaying, and now I can't unsee it. Has it really been this bad all along?  Ambyr carries. I don't need to say anymore. I am kind of excited to see this Kat/Tomas/Eva stuff play out.  Bill is such a dick to Dani. Like that's the mother of your children that you cheated on with your daughter's best friend but you look to take those low blows. Lord! When he said that thing about it being obvious he didn't care about Dani anymore since he was the one that walked out...that was cold. I even felt for Dani. Bill definitely is all over the spectrum. You can see a villain possibly surfacing, but you also see this great father. The elder Duprees move a little funny. I'm wondering what that is all about. Are they just overly protective matriarch and patriarch because they think it's what's best for their family, or are they afraid their secrets will come out or there's something more sinister there. Why would Vernon want to keep that information from Martin?  I hope something interesting comes out of this June stuff, but as of right now, I'm not too invested. It's not helping my interest on Naomi or Jacob either. However, tge actress playing Naomi has comes a long way from day one.
    • None of the males are taking their shirts off every week, so we know they have some degree of acting skill.
    • Here's what happened on the sophomore slaughterer, rookie breakout, new hotness, and three soaps that week. Miami Vice - Sons and Lovers (season 2 finale, May 9): Angelyne warns former lover Tubbs of a bounty put on his head by the son of dead drug-kingpin Calderone. Dallas - Hello...Goodbye...Hello (May 9): An enemy stalks J.R.. Aunt Lil testifies for Ray at the adoption hearing. Sue Ellen tells John Ross that she and J.R. are reconciling. • What can I say?  I did my best.
    • Thank you for sharing. I guess Nancy was catatonic most of her time on the show, so I guess the gasps make sense, lol. I had heard Cathy and Dick DeCoit were supposed to be on the show longer, but Trish Stewart leaving changed all that.
    • @Rmodelboy Thanks for posting that On-set pic of June. She looks great, you just might be right about her being Hayley sibling.
