AMC's parade of returning faves continues! ABC confirms to Digest that Cady McClain, fresh off her most recent stint as ATWT's Rosanna, will be reprising the role of Dixie, last seen as a ghost in 2008, for a short-term story arc that will reteam her with leading man Michael E. Knight (Tad). The network's lips were sealed on all other details (the timing of her return, the length of her contract, and whether Dixie will appear in angel or human form). Short-term again? They need to bring her back long term if she returns, otherwise it's just hollow from the start and makes people less likely to want to see her again.

The only short term return I want with Dixie is if she's a poltergeist who terrorizes Tad for his horrible parenting.

It'll probably be some ghost story. It looks like Lorraine is trying to write some wrongs from the past writing regimes by giving some respectable closure to Brooke and Dixie.

OMG So excited to see Dixie - I don't care in what form (although I have a preference).... anytime I see Dixie, I love it. She's my girl!

Just no. I like Cady, but I am tired of her bouncing back and forth between AMC and ATWT. One of the few things I enjoy about ATWT going off the air is that we won't have Rosanna randomly popping up in Oakdale every time Dixie dies in Pine Valley.
