December 14, 200916 yr Member I haven't watched Friday's episode yet, but I can't wait for this landfill! It's *so* Passions. It's not even good in a campy way. How can you expect to find undamaged material in a landfill four or five months after the crime? It would be buried by now and scattered all over the place in transit. Not only that, but how would you know where to find it? It's so ridiculous and proof that these writers just don't care. This is what Y&R has finally come to. That dreadful mediocrity that has stricken the other soaps. We must now lower our standards.
December 14, 200916 yr Member Dumb question: this is an allegorical image of today's Y&R? It's a CBS promotional contest. FIND LILY'S HEADSCARF!
December 14, 200916 yr Member It's a CBS promotional contest. FIND LILY'S HEADSCARF! Sure. But also a perfect image of Y&R today. Symbolism is... Indescribable.
December 14, 200916 yr Member Sure. But also a perfect image of Y&R today. Symbolism is... Indescribable. The rest of you more regular viewers do a better job of fleshing that out than I ever could. Unless of course you are merely stating the obvious.
December 14, 200916 yr Member That looks like an eyeball in the middle of the scene. I would say this show is made up as it goes along, but then most of the stories are so confusing and bizarre.
December 14, 200916 yr Member IT wasn't that long ago that Y&R was must see TV. I wish I could pinpoint when things really took a turn for the worse. Was it with Brad's death. I think it was actually Philip's return and how badly that was botched. Since then it's all been down down down.
December 14, 200916 yr Member That's supposed to be a landfill?! LOL. And what the hell are they looking for in there anyway?

I think there were already big problems before Phillip's return -- the Adam story had become a sicko uglyfest and lame attempt at "gothic" horror, Billy/Mac were dead weight, Sharon's mental illness had already become who can she sleep with that day. I think these people just don't know how to sustain soap. It was only a matter of time before their poor writing skills and the lackadaisal production took a toll. I know many have said it was right around the time Kevin was insta-brainwashed into robbing banks.
December 14, 200916 yr Member The town uniting to prop Giggly Heffa? Right Maria. ...Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

December 14, 200916 yr Member That's supposed to be a landfill?! LOL. And what the hell are they looking for in there anyway? Maybe they are looking for the good scripts they threw away. I believe I see some burnt up paper in the bunch.
