AMC: Possible returns for 40th Anniversary

Since this will probably be their last milestone anniversary (50th won't happen, and am pretty doubtful they'll make it to 45), it would be nice if they were to bring back some legacy actors/characters from the 70s and 80s just for one last time. Characters like Nick Davis, Mark Dalton, and Paul Martin still have ties to the canvass. Francesca James still has an association with the series, as sometime director and friend of JHC, so I could see her putting in an appearance, which could pave the way for some Tylers. Given this regime, I'm not counting on any of this, but again, one last time to see these characters would be cool.

I do have to give the show some props in the "bringing back old favorites for special episodes" category for the last couple of years. Even if you weren't a fan of the 35th anniversary episode, Phoebe's funeral episode, or Myrtle's funeral episode, you have to admit that they did a somewhat decent job in the area of getting some people to come back. I never thought someone like Francesca James would appear on the show again, but lo and behold, she did two episodes this decade.

I would like to see Palmer get a nice farewell. I think it would be great if Nina, Tom, Brooke, Jamie, Chuck, Donna, Benny, Kelly, Linc, Skye, Jeff, Tara and Kelsey all came back for the Anniversary, but I don't think ABC is interested in the shows history prior to Megan McTavish's creations. And at the same time, I would love, just love to see so many flash backs from the show's rich history, but at the same time, just like on Myrtle's funeral episode, all of those flashbacks, it was like they were showing clips from a different show. JHC changed the look of Pine Valley so much.

I don't think there was a purpose in Maria returning, but if Eva was interested, then I'm surprised they turned her down. Aside from the Kelly Ripa gimmick, I wonder if they are going to try to avoid returns, since the show isn't that much about fans now anyway. Pratt probably thinks the show's anniversary is a year since he took over.

:lol::lol: Turrible!

I like Eva/Maria, but I can't think of any justifiable reason for her character's return. Edmund and Julia are dead, Erica could care less about her former in-law, no Brooke to chat with even, uhhh, who else?

      His social media/IMDb doesn't have his age but from some posts he's made, I'm guessing 1989 is his birth year.
    • Here's the timeline, as I recall it being published. The WGA strike was 5/2–9/27/2023 Annalynne McCord was announced as being hired in December 2023, for a one-year contract https://deadline.com/2024/06/days-of-our-lives-when-to-expect-annalynne-mccord-peacock-1235975806/ RonC's first scripts back from the strike began airing May 31, 2024 (around Konstantine & Maggie's wedding) https://www.tvinsider.com/1137709/days-of-our-lives-writers-return-15000th-episode-storylines/ Her first air date was June 19th 2024. The actress has said she was not told who she would be playing until she started taping. RonC 's replacements were announced July 2024, with his scripts airing through April 2025 Side note: DAYS social media team seems to be playing fast and loose with BTS videos, in terms of how far in advance they film content, so we shouldn't assume anyone's current status, versus those who were there nine months ago.
    • April and her husband (Draper) are the "young leads" who tie all the storyline threads together.  They're normally in the center of the action.  In this particular storyline, Draper is the attorney who represents Paige Madison.  (The district attorney, Logan Swift, has given Paige Madison "temporary immunity from prosecution" if she will lead the police to the members of the Tobias Gang who stole the firearms.  But Paige mainly just ducks bullets from various gang members who pop-up to assassinate her.)
    • It's one thing to post about a soap's rumors or gossip, which in point of fact we've all done. It's another to present yourself as the inside source who knows something to be fact that's about to break wide, then backtrack and call it just Twitter speculation. Between those two extreme poles you have to commit to one or the other. If I got something wrong, I'd say it. (Nor would I keep playing insider after what I pulled with Drake Hogestyn, which should've gotten someone permanently banned.) And regardless, you don't open with this 'news' you don't actually want to stand by yet by mocking DRW's extremely valid concerns re: how the Trina character and Tabyana Ali has been marginalized and put out to virtual pasture ever since the day NAC left. Her playing out her current contract in a C-storyline with Kai does not change that.
    • Yeah, I thought it would be more explosive or heated and it was kind of standard.  Both can do more with the material.  I just don't think the writing was there.
    • Daphnée and TMG are on Instagram live (as we speak) and are saying they don’t know why Maurice left.
    • Anita let SilkPress know what time it was!
    • Kat vs. Eva and Anita vs. Leslie were today's highlights.
    • TBF, the majority of Month 2 was them beefing up all the side-stories...mind you Duprees as well as non-Duprees...and it did not seem like people were taking to it as well as they were taking to stories in Month 1. If anything I feel (hope) that May Sweeps is going to shift...while dealing with the aftermath of the Nicole/SilkPress storyline...to the next big story aka Martin's Secret. But that's me hoping that Martin's meltdown over SilkPress jiggles some memories of his out...which I was already hoping would happen. Add on that Bill is involved in both stories now...that might be his way of being sure nothing happens to him now in light of SilkPress's antics.    And...same. I feel they did a better job than expected with Vanessa/Doug with me because I didn't even realize how invested I was until their talk at the hospital and Doug made that subtly blunt comment about their arrangement...making the various online discussions online real. And for me, relevant.
