Can we please forget her?

As you keep telling people about the Latham era and this writing regime's faults, "It happened, it's apart of Y&R's DNA forever, nothing anyone says or does can change that!" :lol:

And frankly, given the state of the younger cast and characters at Y&R at the moment, Brittany doesn't even appear to be THAT bad or poorly developed in comparison.

Exactly.

She was treated like a stranger & she did NOT appreciate it.

And Victoria wasn't given a shitty, damaging, and half-assed exit like Victor will be given. Which is why I don't believe that Sony is forcing them to write exits like this. This is the type of show and exits Maria and her henchmen want to write.

In a way, such a loss serves the current writing regime at Y&R right. Their arrogance and thinking they're writing a quality product, when they're not, is being taught a lesson...

I've not watched since Feb/Mar or so, but I agree wholeheartedly.

I regularly google the name to make sure there are no rumors of character/actress coming back.

With JT at odds with Victoria, I'm just worried the b*tch and her stripper pole are headed back to town. :lol:

But come on, in comparison to Abby, Brittany looks damn entertaining...

I'm sure Brittany will pop back up eventually to sex up Billy or steal JT from Mac. I think Mac and JT will probably be paired soon...

But whatever, the writing on Y&R still sucks ass.

If she has to do work arounds due to budget issues than why doesn't she use some of her veteran actors who have been languishing on the backburner for so long to fill in these gaps?

Because when you've got budget issues, the LAST thing you want to do is use the vets. They cost more than the newbies do, so you only want to work them to their guarantees and not more.

Per the newest issue of SAG-AFTRA's memorial list, "Days" actors Trent Dolan and Jeff Eagle died in 2025. Dolan (5/5/38-7/14/25), who played Allen Hamlin for 13 episodes in 1980 and Commissioner Samuels for 3 episodes in 1992, died on July 14, 2025 at the age of 87, while Eagle (4/26/47-11/29/25), who played Will Robbins for 19 episodes from 1984-1985, died on November 29, 2025 at the age of 78.

I think if they had been in that lane from the start it may have helped, but other than Passions and Dark Shadows many soaps struggle when they try this approach. Chances also went this route when Australian soaps had become much more conservative - the last successful Australian soaps to have nudity and raciness ended in the late '70s.
@dc11786 Always appreciate your insights. I'll have to look for more of these as I go through the show. I had never even heard of Jackson's Wharf. That seems to be on Tubi. Other than Shortland Street New Zealand never seemed to have a long running soap.

Why would remotes be needed to write a successful long term romance? A compelling romance can be super popular with limited sets and no remotes. All it really requires is good writing and good acting.
I could say the same about murder mysteries/murder trials. Just good writing and good acting, a few sets, and (of course) a courtroom set. That's all it takes.
