October 8, 200916 yr Member HD can also help with international sales. Note the big push that Freemantle and AgnesNixon.com are making for international sales of AMC. But not OLTL. Hmmmmmmm. Dear God! FREEmantle has a stake in an American soap opera?! UGH! They can barely respect or market the Goodson/Todman lot without pissing and defacating on everything that made their shows successful. Even the fact that they just want to sell the show in international syndication disgusts me. YUCK!
October 8, 200916 yr Member And I'm sure Nelson Branco is typing up his hissy fit for tommorrow's Suds Report as I write this. I'm actually looking forward to it. I'm loving watching him go to pieces. By the time the hammer finally comes down on OLTL, he'll be on his second round of ECT.
October 9, 200916 yr Member My personal theory is Frons is favoring AMC over OLTL because of Chuck Pratt. I think if someone else was headwriting for AMC, it'd be AMC that was the odd-soap out. NB claims that Frons owes Pratt and Guza his job. http://tvguide.ca/Soaps/Suds/Articles/091002_suds_report_NB.htm TV Guide Canada will no longer be watching AMC or covering the show in Soapgeist. In light of ABC’s rumoured decision to save the worst show in television over the best show on daytime TV, I’m throwing my entire support to One Life. Sometimes, you have to turn off a show to save it because ratings speak is the only language this network understands. There is no logical reason why Brian Frons should cancel One Life over AMC. Well, except for the fact that Fronzie isn't BFFs with One Life’s show runners. No, his bromances star the likes of hacks, AMC’s Pratt and GH’s Bob Guza because they campaigned to get him this job when Frons couldn’t get arrested. Mark my words, friendships will destroy this industry.
October 9, 200916 yr Member Ugh. Who hired Branco? He's like TV Guide's answer to Roger Friedman. Next thing you know, Branco will say OLTL's cancellation was "homophobic."
October 9, 200916 yr Member They shouldn't have announced it till they knew they had the funding My personal theory is Frons is favoring AMC over OLTL because of Chuck Pratt. I think if someone else was headwriting for AMC, it'd be AMC that was the odd-soap out. Yep this is exactly it IMO. And I'm sure Nelson Branco is typing up his hissy fit for tommorrow's Suds Report as I write this. LMAO
October 9, 200916 yr Member So what if Frons is bias towards Guza and Pratt. Branco is bias toward Carlivati and Valentini cause he has the hots for them...LOL. The stories could be dog doo..and Branco would still love them....LOL

The stories could be dog doo..and Branco would still love them....LOL Agreed. Even though I'm a OLTL fan, NB's girlie gushing of it gets on my nerves. His continuous valentines aren't doing the show any favors.

I can't stomach AMC. But Branco isnt helping out with his hideous posts about watching OLTL....totally begging his readers to watch it.... Edited October 9, 200916 yr by Ruxton Hills
October 9, 200916 yr Member They shouldn't have announced it till they knew they had the funding Soon after the announcement, DC claimed that it was not going to happen so it is unlikely that ABC ever intended to take OLTL HD. If they wanted to, they would find the money. So what if Frons is bias towards Guza and Pratt. Branco is bias toward Carlivati and Valentini cause he has the hots for them...LOL. The stories could be dog doo..and Branco would still love them....LOL True dat.
October 9, 200916 yr Member Really? I didn't know DC had said that. Interesting. Makes the OLTL cancellation rumors seem stronger Edited October 9, 200916 yr by Zendall Fan
October 9, 200916 yr Member Next thing you know, Branco will say OLTL's cancellation was "homophobic." He's not doing OLTL any favours with his acting up. Nor is he doing the soap community any favoursby going on about how he and we all shoudl boycott AMC, no matter how bad he finds it.
October 9, 200916 yr Member So what if Frons is bias towards Guza and Pratt. Branco is bias toward Carlivati and Valentini cause he has the hots for them...LOL. The stories could be dog doo..and Branco would still love them....LOL Frons is in charge. Branco isn't. I don't care what Branco blathers about, Frons is the one who makes the decisions, and as always, they seem to have little to do with logic. Anyone who does or does not base their OLTL opinion on Branco is probably not that interested in the show anyway. Edited October 9, 200916 yr by CarlD2
October 9, 200916 yr Member Branco isn't the only person I've heard the scoop on Frons's relationships with Pratt and Guza from. News is news and the ulterior motive is very well-defined. It's a pretty disgusting bit of favoritism/nepotism. While they may be close ratings-wise, the difference between AMC and OLTL is night and day. AMC is weak, doddering, on the verge of death. OLTL is strong, rich, and fun despite some problems. You can smell death on a soap when a certain time comes; I can smell it on AMC and ATWT, not OLTL, not by a longshot. That's why I've always been hesitant to believe this show will go off the air as soon as people want to think. I still don't know what to think. All I know is the idea that OLTL could be cancelled as soon as some project, while AMC continues to croak forward, is utterly unacceptable to me. I think if that does happen, it'll be as Jamey Giddens predicts, an AW/SuBe situation - one goes only to buy the other show exactly five months. Then they'll have lost two soaps for nothing. I prefer to believe OLTL will end up sticking it out til at least 2011. That I can live with. The hint of anything else makes me sick and angry in a way that I have not begun to deal with, and don't want to.

And he will probably have Pratt shipped back to GH as soon as possible.
