That was indeed Vanessa rocking a leather skirt! This came at the end of Pam Long's de "fusing," of Van after marrying Billy, where she just sat around in matronly dresses, took care of her baby and said "Oh Billy!" a lot. They finally put her back to work at least, dumb as that was.

So true about Wheeler cutting Jerry loose. At that time he was the Bert Bauer of the show, keeping it centered. One of Wheeler's stupidest moves to cut him and then keep Frankie D and Justin Deas!?!?!? Especially since he was the father of three kids (by the same wife no less) who could be aged into the "hawt," teens. Also, father of Dinah, etc. Just shows how Kriezman and Wheeler's obsession with Gush and the Coopers really did more damage then the budget cuts.

Some fun moments here with Alex and her attitude towards Blake, Harley ("Meals on Wheels waitress"), and her trying to keep Alan in line while looking out for Sonni. Great writing for Alex, and I love Bev's sarcasm and cool looks.

Poor Elizabeth Denehy - did Kids in the Hall get their inspiration for the Chicken Lady from her?

"Phillip grew up watching your....escapades, no wonder he is acting like this!" This is the Alex I love...Marj's Alex doesn't come close. God, Bev would have chewed Ron Raines and spit him back out on a regular basis. I remember not liking Daniel Pilon but I almost thought he was the "Real," Alan for a minute so I can see why they hired him. God I hated Marj's screeching, wimpy Alex....they should have just made her a new character.

Pilon seems to lack charisma, which basically made Alan what he was. I don't think Alan ever had that again after Bernau passed away.

I read on Youtube today that Beverlee tried to get them to hire Daniel Davis (who had played her crazy husband Eliot Carrington on Texas - later to be Niles the butler on The Nanny) as Alan after Bernau passed on. How do you think that would have been?

I saw Pilon from some soft-core Canadian anthology show, Bliss, around 2002, in some episode about swinging couples. He didn't show anything, but it was still kind of odd when I remembered he played Alan and then he was...doing that.

I love this clip. The comedy between Alex and Harley is fine but the best part is when Harley accidentally rips Alex's wedding dress to Eric, and Alex begins to talk about her lost love and how she had never felt that way again. Beverlee played that wistfulness so beautifully. Marj had her moments but generally she either didn't have those chances or didn't use them.

Alan in a soft corn flick...EWWWWW!!!! I do think that Pilon's voice matched CB's...RR..I don't know, he was so "Foghorn Leghorn," that he could never be considered a serious threat.

That clip in pure Alex...a snob, a bitch, funny sarcastic and then vunerable, and even able to apologize to someone. Marj's Alex was just a shrill harpy. Remember when the Spauldings actually had that great set? And remember when Rauch gave it to Carmen of all people???

I liked the GL primetime special although that might have been because I watched when I loved the show so I was more innocent...

That 1980 caricature is very hit and miss...the artist has a fondness for chipmunk cheeks, and also seems to hate Amanda and Eve.

Who didn't hate Amanda and Eve???LOL!

I love those ads, that was at the time that CBS was pushing real hard for GL to be over the top 80s and compete with Dynasty and Dallas. The funny thing was ratings fell from a high of No 1 for GL when it was still a slightly over the top, but still family show!

I love the pic of Larkin Malloy, that was his friggen expression in every scene. I also love the second pic with Reva with a mullet and involving one of my favorite storylines, Sonni/Solita "Isolated one!!!" Man, Annie vs. Reva (which I loved also) held no candle to Sonni and Reva wrestling on a convent floor at Christmas!!! Now THAT's how you do over the top!

The Kyle head thing looked badly Photoshopped (not sure what it was called at the time).

Did you see any of the Lucille Wexler story? All I've ever seen was some of the earlier stuff, when she was just the old woman pretending to be ill. I always wanted to see her try to knife Jennifer/Jane Marie.

Have you seen this? You probably have, but it's always fun to post again:

Yeah, he did. That's all funny, or at least interesting, stuff - I especially love the scene with Bert. It was written by Marsha Clark, AKA Hillary.

Stephen was very handsome. It's too bad he didn't work out on AW. For a while I confused him with the guy who was in the first year of Newhart, Kirk. I'm not sure why.

I think he was GL's first young hunk.

This was written by the woman who played Hillary Bauer and I think they used a GL director and the GL sets and cast. This was done for a Christmas party.

That weird scene with Katie I never understood, until I read that to hide her pregnancy they had had her eat all the time.

The stuff with Sara is pretty fun too.

    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
    • Except she never worked there at all and barely even knew where the Chancellor Industries plant was located  In 1980, Kay attempted to install Derek Thurston (her third husband) in a position at Chancellor Industries.  The show introduced a character named George Packard who'd supposedly been running Chancellor since Phillip's demise in 1975.  (George Packard's storyline in 1980 was attempting to keep Derek Thurston from bankrupting the company.)   We didn't hear much of anything about Chancellor Industries for the next twenty-five years.  Then, at that point, we met Eliot Hampton (?) who'd been running the company for decades and had been embezzling from it.  Jill took it upon her herself to oust Eliot Hampton (?) and take control of the company.  That's when Kay became actively involved in the management of the company.  From 1974 till 2004 Kay Chancellor was strictly a hands-off owner.  It was downright absurd that the last ten years of life, she was written as this formidable businesswoman who'd always been involved in Chancellor Industries.
    • Well, it's going to be something when he finds out the truth.  Agreed.  On that note, I can't until it all comes out. I find Lulu to be ridiculous.
    • I almost posted this because that was my initial reaction too:  this is weird/cringe, to sing around a piano after such a huge family shattering bomb was dropped.  But I got over that and just enjoyed her voice, the song and the montage we saw as everyone's emotions in the aftermath were pouring out.
    • The Equalizer original series was not a big hit yet it became a movie franchise and got a reboot series. The Equalizer reboot lasted 5 seasons, so one season longer than the original series.

His social media/IMDb doesn't have his age but from some posts he's made, I'm guessing 1989 is his birth year.
    • Here's the timeline, as I recall it being published. The WGA strike was 5/2–9/27/2023 Annalynne McCord was announced as being hired in December 2023, for a one-year contract https://deadline.com/2024/06/days-of-our-lives-when-to-expect-annalynne-mccord-peacock-1235975806/ RonC's first scripts back from the strike began airing May 31, 2024 (around Konstantine & Maggie's wedding) https://www.tvinsider.com/1137709/days-of-our-lives-writers-return-15000th-episode-storylines/ Her first air date was June 19th 2024. The actress has said she was not told who she would be playing until she started taping. RonC 's replacements were announced July 2024, with his scripts airing through April 2025 Side note: DAYS social media team seems to be playing fast and loose with BTS videos, in terms of how far in advance they film content (e.g. their April Fools' Joke videos were clearly not filmed on 4/1/25), so we shouldn't assume anyone's current status, versus those who were there nine months ago.
    • April and her husband (Draper) are the "young leads" who tie all the storyline threads together.  They're normally in the center of the action.  In this particular storyline, Draper is the attorney who represents Paige Madison.  (The district attorney, Logan Swift, has given Paige Madison "temporary immunity from prosecution" if she will lead the police to the members of the Tobias Gang who stole the firearms.  But Paige mainly just ducks bullets from various gang members who pop-up to assassinate her.)
    • It's one thing to post about a soap's rumors or gossip, which in point of fact we've all done. It's another to present yourself as the inside source who knows something to be fact that's about to break wide, then backtrack and call it just Twitter speculation. Between those two extreme poles you have to commit to one or the other. If I got something wrong, I'd say it. (Nor would I keep playing insider after what I pulled with Drake Hogestyn, which should've gotten someone permanently banned.) And regardless, you don't open with this 'news' you don't actually want to stand by yet by mocking DRW's extremely valid concerns re: how the Trina character and Tabyana Ali has been marginalized and put out to virtual pasture ever since the day NAC left. Her playing out her current contract in a C-storyline with Kai does not change that.
