September 14, 200916 yr Member It was a great tribute. I enjoyed all the classic clips. I almost forgot to watch it. I did miss like the first 2 minutes of it. I wish I had recorded it too. Edited September 14, 200916 yr by Ruxton Hills
September 14, 200916 yr Member Was Colleen Zenk-Pinter ever on GL? In one of the clips they showed it looked just like her Edited September 14, 200916 yr by Zendall Fan
September 14, 200916 yr Member Wow Tina Sloan said that something her character did 20 years ago, fans still haven't forgiven her for, her character was the cause of someone driving off a snowy cliff. Did anyone watch that storyline? Was it good? Maureen's death made for riveting short-term drama but ultimately it "broke" the show. For a lot of people, that was the day GL was canceled.
September 14, 200916 yr Member For anyone who missed it, it is now posted on the 60 Minutes site. http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/60minutes/main3415.shtml Edited September 14, 200916 yr by KSlater

September 14, 200916 yr Member Thanks. I was never a regular viewer of Guiding Light, but it is sad whenever we lose another show. 60 Minutes did a well deserved and very nice tribute. Much better than the emmys.
September 14, 200916 yr Member Was Colleen Zenk-Pinter ever on GL? In one of the clips they showed it looked just like her I think that might have been Maeve Kinkead (Vanessa Chamberlain Lewis) that you might have seen. I don't believe CZP was ever on GL.
September 14, 200916 yr Member That segment on 60 minutes was amazing. Although I have not followed GL in a couple of years, it's nice to see that CBS and 60 minutes captures what the Emmy's didn't do correctly. Many kudos to CBS and 60 Minutes.
September 14, 200916 yr Member Weren't there rumors that GL planned to pair Ed/Lillian after Maureen's death and only fan backlash stopped them?
September 14, 200916 yr Member Weren't there rumors that GL planned to pair Ed/Lillian after Maureen's death and only fan backlash stopped them? I think so. I also think she was dropped to recurring status after that.
September 14, 200916 yr Member This is a great set of the shows surrounding Maureen's Death. I watched it again a few months ago, and was mesmerized. My link I'm not sure how to post links so if that doesn't work, maybe this will Edited September 14, 200916 yr by phamie56
September 14, 200916 yr Member I've never liked Lillian, and never will. I'm sure Tina Sloan's a very nice lady, but Lillian has always come off overly cloying and saccharine to me, masking a fucked-up personality which enabled her daughter's abuse and bad choices and later, of course, the death of Maureen. As crazy as Beth is, Lillian is the progenitor and enabler of that. I never bought this Buzz/Lillian thing, or really, Lillian taking any kind of cornerstone role at all. She weirds me out.
September 14, 200916 yr Member I've seen both the 60 Minutes and Sunday Morning GL segments. They were pretty well done, and maybe because they had classy journalists handling the segments, but I was a bit surprised that they didn't make a mockery of the show or daytime in general. All the crying in the 60 Minutes bit ... one couldn't help but get a little misty eyed themself. Thanks CBS News.
