Why does he write a script if he is going to mess it up so badly? Especially with factual errors that LP corrected (kindly).

Otherwise, barring the LP freezes that sometimes led to overtalking, I enjoyed the conversation very much. They are both awesome and lovely and are good friends in real life which helps in those double-interviews.
Loved Maree's anecdote on Mary Stuart. I don't know if she intended it that way but it said a lot.

From the way she told the story I think it was actually the first time she met Mary Stuart which makes it even more ... special.
She started by saying she was terrified of Mary Stuart when she started (and later said she was terrified of her all throughout lol).

Then the anecdote: Maree mentioned that the CBS studio was very cold so she liked to wear big fluffly slippers. Their dressing rooms were upstairs and the set downstairs so there would be a lot of climbing the stairs up and down to go to rehearsals and blocking etc.
So she did the trip with curlers still in her hair and her big slippers and when Mary Stuart saw her (and again this seems to be the first time they had met, or shortly after they met), she said: "So THIS is our sex symbol?".
And from Maree's delivery, Stuart didn't say it in a cheeky teasing way but in a condescending manner. I think Maree's face when mimicking Stuart telling her that says everything that needs to be said about the way it was intended.

Thank you for sharing!   Maree has told this story before.  It seems to be the only story she is willing to share about Mary.   Nobody else from SFT will share even that much.   Most of the time, when asked about Mary -- members of the cast respond with vague comments such as "Oh, dear Mary," or "Sweet Mary, what a joy."   Nothing specific whatsoever.    I have heard genuinely positive comments about Mary from members of the Guiding Light cast, but nothing more than vague comments from anyone connected with Search for Tomorrow.

I think on SFT, it seemed like Mary viewed it as her show...and she felt protective of it.

And I'd always figured LP used Vivian Leigh and Elizabeth Taylor as models when molding both Ava and Lila..so I was glad she confirmed it.

And I liked that both women had a lot to say so Alan didn't rail road them either with his pointless babbling.  It seems like SFT was not a show he knew much about...and that's a good thing.

And Maree's tale about Irna Phillips was funny.

    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
    • Nicole is way too smart to not know she was carrying twins - she's a doctor! My guess is that Leslie did abort her baby out of fear, and as payback, stole Ted and Nicole's child (Eva), and stole Kat from another family to replace her in the hospital.
    • Those Soap Central profiles have a lot of incorrect info. According to SOD summaries and the Daytime Newsletter of the time,Tim left town for a new job and Pam reunited with the father of her baby and also departed Springfield. They did not marry.
    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
