Members soapfan770
If SFT had stayed on the air and on CBS and had lasted into the 90s what do you guys think the show would have been like?
Members DRW50
For some reason I think they would have, as a PR stunt, had Jo and Stu get married. They may have written it seriously, or they may have just had them marry for some other reason (as a protest, or for insurance). I think Jo would have experienced a certain renaissance after years of downplaying Mary Stuart. I think they would have given Stu some long-lost children. Sunny would have her own talk show. Liza would become the new Patti in terms of recasts.
Members Paul Raven
Interesting how they dodge the topic of minorities - "Lt So and So is black" - some short term part.I don't think SFT ever had a contract black performer.Maybe if they had have added some black characters at some point,it could have helped the show? Members Khan
For one thing, I think SEARCH would have added an African-American family to its canvas. There seemed to be a push on the part of CBS to have greater focus on minorities on all their soaps in the mid- and late-1980's.
Members DRW50
I wonder if they ever would have had any gay characters (Bruce?).
Members Paul Raven
Looking at the cast photos,i had never heard of Joy Franz or seen her in cast lists. So I did a little research and discovered she played Betty Heywood, who I assume was the wife of Ralph,Eric's natural father.

Members soapfan770
Thanks guys, my dream CBS schedule would have to be: 12:30-Y&R(Bell was able to keep his show at 30 min quite successfully) 1:00 SFT 2:00 ATWT 3:00 GL Of course the 1981-82 schedule works as well for me, why the heck the idiots at both CBS(who wanted something more "glamorous") and P&G(who wanted to keep SFT at 12:30) didn't stick with it is beyond me.
