Yeah, there was Ashley B. as Mac in like 99. She left and we got Kelly K. as mac (that mac had the wedding to billy). then after the char left and came back it was Ashley B. again and then they fired her and hired Rachel K. as Mac and then she left and Clem F. came on.

Mac as a character has been a disaster ever since her first storyline, IMHO.

Damn! You found me. Just kidding!tongue.gif

Some random thoughts:

1. This writing regime would have redeemed both David Kimble and Matt Clarke. They probably would have gotten quicke redemptions too or dopplegangers for the actors.

2. Ambers concern for Little D came out of nowhere. For 3 years she acted as if he never existed, but now she's worried about him. The anvils they have (Phyllis's "Kids need their mother" or Daniels "I'm a long way off from having kids") are more obvious than if there were actual anvils to fall down from the sky.

3. I thought that the special Billy episode was going to air on Christmas Eve aka Emmy bait for Billy Miller. I'm hoping John slaps him and tells him to quite with his whinning. Here's a promo for the "special" episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROxmWMkz7Wo&feature=player_embedded.

I'm just tired of these gimmicks with Billy. He has been a selfish, unpleasant character since he returned to town, so dressing that up in a sudden turn towards the even more ridiculous, just in time for a Christmas Emmy miracle, it seems very cheap. I hate this Emmy bait stuff. I thought Billy Miller was bad on the Christmas episode, it was all a bad parody of an alcoholic. Why this needs a reward I don't know.

You're probably one of the few people online that thought Miller was bad in that episode. I always read that he's the only reason to watch this show and that he's never had a bad scene and that he killed in his drunk scene.

I think he would be much better if the character wasn't so unpleasant.

I probably am the only one, or one of the few. I also feel like I'm one of the few who usually doesn't get "Chilly" or that he was somehow doing great until Mac returned. I even ended up siding more with Cane and Lily in that awful custody battle story which seemed designed to prop Chilly. I just think he has been extremely forced from the start, has no real chemistry with most of his love interests (except Sharon Case), and I don't believe him in dramatic scenes. I always see him acting. It's common for this show now -- when Colleen died, the only character I really felt was Traci, the others I just saw actors standing around -- but it does get on my nerves. It reminds me a lot of when Tom Pelphrey was at GL and he was always ACTING and this was passed off as being superb. It's like on Big Brother or Survivor, where, if someone says over and over that they are a mastermind, the viewer is more likely to believe them, whether they actually are or not.

I know not all alcoholics are alike but I've never seen any alcoholic like Billy was in that episode. The whole thing was just awful, especially when he would wander around grinning and chugging from his shaker/decanter. It was like a Dean Martin roast gone wrong.

I would like, eventually, to see less ACTING and to finally see the character of Billy again. That's not Billy Miller's fault, because he's never had a character to play, the writing has been awful from the start, but it's so distracting to see the constant mugging and dead space in place of any sort of characterization.

I love the character. I don't think he's the only reason to watch, but he is a huge bright spot for me. I could actually do with him being a jerk for another couple of years before he has an awakening, but this show's pace is so break neck these days. I'm having a hard time adjusting to it.

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.

    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
