Members Y&RWorldTurner
This stupid Quad has been going on for like 4 years now, there has to be a time where they have to say enough is enough. Jack Smith even said he never intended for this thing to go on for very long. I wish he had stayed a bit longer before he was fired for Latham. This show needs new management, new writers, and new everything desperately. Maria's recycled vision isn't working anymore.
Members lmfan
Well I wouldn't mind her pandering to Lauren and Michael fans once in awhile (maybe we need to be more rabid LOL), but it is absurd the lengths she is going to extend this quad and even those characters are taking a beating in the process. The best thing that could have happened to Phyllis is to get rid of Nick. I have actually been enjoying Phyllis and her snarky attitude towards Nick lately, but if she accepts him back after what he did she will be a character with no self respect. And how can any Phick fan want them back under those terms? In her effort to pander to both fan bases she is angering not only them but those of us who are sick and tired of watching this neverending back and forth. Members detroitpiston
I'm surprised people expected this Rafe & Adam stuff to be anything more than a contrived plot point lol.
Members Bright Eyes
I had accepted the contrivance of it all, but damn it, if I had to deal with something so severely plot driven was it too much to ask to make the scenes sexy as all hell? Members DeeeDee
The Adam/Rafe stuff is fine. The pacing is atrocious.
Members DRW50
I think this got out of proportion when CE's departure became such big news. People probably expected scenes much more risque than what they've shown so far. There was also such trumpeting of this story at places like DC and other sites. For some reason I think people expected a much different story than what Y&R planned to tell.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
They should have spent months building up Rafe's attraction to Adam, but they didn't, so it all falls flat. The times we've usually seen Rafe with Adam, there was no indication that he was sexually attacked to Adam. It;s just bad storytelling. Of course, the rabid gays who just want to see gays and don't care about the actual storytelling, how offensive it is, and how bad it is will eat this sh!t up. Members DRW50
I think the "rabid" fan reaction to stuff like Nuke on ATWT is one of the reasons some fans were looking forward to this story. It was supposed to be very different than Nuke, was supposed to put them to shame, a new, different type of story for gay characters. The problem is there doesn't actually seem to be a story. It's just a plot point and at least as of right now, Rafe has no character to speak of.

Members brimike
Are you ready for this? I TOTALLY AGREE WITH ALVIN ON THE EXECUTION OF THIS RAFE/ADAM STORY! On paper, I think it's fantastic. I've always thought it was fantastic. But we missed the whole build-up to it. Did we ever see a scene where Adam even found out Rafe was gay in the first place? No. Did we ever see a scene where Rafe gave Adam a longing look? No. It's all wrong. Not the story, mind you. I think the story could have been amazing. But I completely agree - we haven't seen enough of Rafe to give a crap that Adam's using him, nor will we care when he gets his heart broken. And I know I'm always the one telling people to wait until the story plays out - and yes, for all I know, the story could totally improve as we get into Adam juggling Heather and Rafe. But as of right now, I am horribly, horribly disappointed. Having said that, I'm actually totally on board with this Summer story. I really like it - I think it gives everybody great scenes to play, and based on the spoilers for the next few weeks, it's the kind of story that's right up my alley. I know I'm in the minority, but I see this as the first time Mary Jane is the one pulling the strings. Up until now, she's been making little moves here and there - but this story is the first time she's pulling the strings of all the major players. She is breaking free from Victor for the first time, and he's about to see the monster he created. I'm all for it. But yeah - I'm just so bummed about the how this Rafe/Adam thing happened, I can't even tell you. Such a great story idea. Gay or straight, doesn't matter. Irrelevant. It's just a great concept, and I totally understand why they went with it. They just forgot to give us a reason to care.
Members alphanguy74
Brimike... here's the thing. We don't yet KNOW if Rafe hs feelings for Adam, or is just going along to get his rocks off, and fool Adam into giving him the evidence he needs to clear his aunt. If Rafe TRULY has feelings for Adam... then I agree that there was little to no buildup, and it was a mistake. But we don't yet know this to be true. Actually, I would love it if Rafe KNEW that Adam was trying to use him, and in the end, it was RAFE who uses Adam. That would have some nice poetic justice. I'm waiting to pass judgement until I see exactly how it plays out.
Members Juliajms
Complete co-sign. The build up could have been so good, but instead I'm very disappointed with how it played out.
Members rhythmchyc
I don't even think people would've remembered Rafe was gay, if CE didn't leave. It was mentioned he was gay one or two episodes very briefly to a shrug of a shoulder from Tammin and mild interest from Victoria and JT. Wouldn't it be hilarious if CE leaving the show was blamed on the gay storyline just because the audience wouldn't even remember that Rafe was gay? Seriously, the knowledge of Rafe's sexuality was as ill-timed as Neil's "frustration" at Newman. And anyone who isn't up in the behind-the-scenes goings-on of Y&R must be like "what the hell?" right now. It's really unfortunate how the pacing on so many storylines are ruining really great concepts. Perhaps if there was more emphasis on the build-up to these fantastical, shocking events, we'd all enjoy them more. Sure, Adam killing Ashley's baby will be outlandish no matter how it's represented, but it may have all been a lot less revolting. IMO anyway.
