Ok episode today. Liked just about everything except Starr/Cole, and Stacy.

Thursday's episode was total filler to me, no doubt about it.

I'm wondering, would Gigi be so approving of Rex posing as another man to get into the country club, or would she not go along with it? I'm trying to figure this out, bc it seems to me that the writers are trying illustrate that Rex can be his old self (the one that's more of a con and etc.) when around Stacy, but with Gigi he can't in some ways.

I actually think it shows that Stacy's so immature that she's driving Rex to be immature as well. I am thinking back to when Shane had the stomach ache from the junk food and Gigi had to come over and take charge. The scenes today seemed less serious and more about the light humor, but I definitely think the writers are trying to show that Gigi is the one for Rex and Stacy's just bad news. Gigi would never pose to be anyone anywhere - look how hard it was for her to try to put the moves on Kyle. For Stacy, you have Schuyler who always attempts to be a good example even though he's a complete screw-up. I think Stacy likes the adventure and trouble and it brushes off on Rex, because let's face it - four years ago Stacy and Rex would have been a match made in heaven. But I don't think the writers are trying to sell Stacy as the way for Rex to let his hair down. You raised a really interesting point; I never would have thought to analyze that scene, but it's really fascinating to think about the subtext going on.

Todd's good at terrorizing people who don't fight back, but this time I'd rather see Cole put him in a coma. Then Tea will weep at his bedside, offcamera.

I see what you mean, leevo64, about the writing showing Stacy make Rex more immature, but even when he was with Gigi, he was childish. He berated Dorian for not giving him a video game system, called her a b*tch, then showed little gratitude even when she finally gave him one. He's a jerk almost all the time, but I guess only when he's with Stacy is this behavior supposed to be objectionable.

Berating Dorian for zbox was because she had already bought more than one and she knew he really wanted to get one for Shane. When she gave it to him, they both knew they had come to an understanding. I remember Dorian saying something like "this changes NOTHING between us." But yeah, there have been moments where Rex has been really stupid, I just can't remember too many while he was with Gigi. Adriana, on the other hand... I say kill Stacy and bring back Bitchy Bangs for a REAL triangle.

They are playing this off as romantic but Cole's going to jail. I think its selfish of him to ask Starr to marry him as he's about to go to jail. She's too young and its not right for him to basically ask her to put her life on hold for him like that

I cant stand to watch Rex anymore. this stuff is painful. Talk about character assasination. He is the one being manipulated and lied to, so you'd think he'd get some sympathy but I feel nothing for him but disgust. He truly is an idiot and I cant beleive how stupid he has become. Its like a completely new character

He's become a heroine that you want to see some psycho tie up in a chair and terrorize for weeks.

Basically, Lily on Y&R.

I think this is because TPTB are incapable of manipulating the "internal reveal" as masterfully as they used to. Now, it seems many characters they've developed on soaps have become utter dunces and wouldn't know that the sun rises in the east and there are 50 states in the union.

How can you sympathize with an idiot who's just asking to be victimized?

Rex should never have invited Stacy to stay with him. It's sacrificing the character for the sake of plot and it's a shame.

Cole & Starr: still unwatchable. Starr is ten times worse than Y&R's Lily for me.

I love Todd but I am bored with his drama every single day.

Fish is adorable :)

Layla is a goddess. I want to see more of her.

Gigi is prety fun outside Rex and Stacy's orbit.

Nothing interesting in Markko and Langston.

Reminder to TPTB: Viki IS OLTL, don't forget that please.

I agree. At first I didn't like the whole valley girl trying to become an actress thing but as the years past I've gotten use to her and she has grown on me. I like her chemistry with Christian and wish that the show gives her a storyline. If not then get rid of her. This show has to many isolated characters so either work them into the fabric or cut them lose.

    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.

    • I think they’re desperately trying to cover his awful tattoos. But anyway them being unable to style short kings properly has been a major pet peeve of mine for a while now.  I honestly don’t understand what some people expect from actors to even begin considering them for recognition. Let’s be real—awards mostly mean that an actor is respected by their peers and has some level of cultural relevance. Actual judgment on the acting itself? That’s often secondary—highly subjective and shaped by the times. I completely agree on both points. If you’re an actor or a dancer you shouldn’t get any tattoos (sorry not sorry). Tomas’ tattoos are ugly too. And regarding the couples- you’re completely right. These writers are unable to write romance.   Further comments: - Kat cannot be this dumb to keep tampering with evidence over and over again. And I’m officially not a fan of the actress—every time she’s in a scene with Leslie, she doesn’t seem intimidated at all. She plays it like comic relief, which is just too much, especially when paired with Leslie’s histrionics and over-the-top antics. Leslie is older, dangerous, and has literally been portrayed as homicidal—Kat should be at least a little scared. • I also didn’t like Kat playing damsel in distress with the hotel manager. It gave off the same weird energy as Dani with the cop. I would’ve much preferred the version Paul Raven suggested, with her sneaking in through housekeeping. • And yes, Dani again accused Hayley of faking the pregnancy—this time even specifying she might be using a pillow under her shirt. (No fake miscarriage being mentioned) I stand by my take: this is ridiculous writing. No one in the real world—except us, the chronically online soap watchers—would even think of such a conspiracy theory. Haley is no Beyoncé. • What in the world was Chelsea wearing in her hair the other day? And this whole thing with Madison is beyond cringe. Chelsea’s coming off as needy and toxic—basically like every other Dupree. • I’m glad the casino storyline is moving forward, but it’s still boring as hell. Honestly, I’d be so here for a plot twist where Vanessa and Doug take Joey out. • The direction and editing lately have been rough. Abrupt cuts, weird pacing… something just feels off overall. There’s a strange uneasiness to how it’s all coming together. • And finally: Tomas is too much of a saint. Where are the messy sluts when you need them? (Vanessa doesn’t count.)
