I agree with you. There was a time I liked Phick, but it's run it's course for me. Their affair was hot and I would have been happy if it ended there. Now, it's just holding Phyllis back. I'd love nothing more for her to cut bait.

I guess "age inappropriate" is in the eye of the beholder. I see nothing wrong with the Nick and Phyllis pairing, heck the way they are going, Nick will catch up with Phyllis, any day I expect him to say, "I can now access my trust fund!

WE as fans should worry less about a character's age and more about the character's behavior, the stories being told, the pacing and the future of soaps in general. As long as they are over the age of 21, it really is all relative!

So freaking true. It is like when I see half naked women running around on my soap and I haven't seen a shirtless guy in months. It makes me wonder who they think are watching these soaps. Why am I interested in watching old as the hills Victor turn on Nikki in favor of these young chicks? Now if Nikki dumped Victor and he was chasing after her that would be another story, but when does that ever happen?

3 pages almost all about Nick and Phyliss...Ugh....LOL. Why not start a thread about them instead of putting it on the weekly thread..which btw no eppy has appeared yet...LOL

We get it...they are hated with Alvin as President of the Club...LOL I dont like them either but time to move on to different topics of the show...LOL

Exactly, they were never compelling in the first place. The only thing interesting about them was their affair, and that was only because it was forbidden.

The best thing to happen to them was Sharon and Nick screwing again. It particularly did wonders for Stafford's acting.

But soon, it's just time for Phyllis to move on from Nick and let him go. Why does she want someone like that? He clearly isn't over his ex and she tolerates it.

Ruxton, I feel you. There's only so much that can be said about Phickron.

Back to P3. Since P3 and Cane were allegedly switched at birth, itt's really strange to think that P3 and Lily could have been a couple!

Here's a crazy thought, especially because I love MG as Daniel, but does anyone think it would actually be great move to kill off the character, assuming this whole art storyline is part of some criminal enterprise? MG's not going to want to stick around Y&R forever and the character doesn't really have a purpose on the show. But Daniel's death would provide a ton of story for Phyllis (and make her desperation to hold onto Nick that much more palpable), Amber, Kevin, Noah, etc. Where else does the character have to go? Amber could return to being sort of bitchy, Kevin would get back some edge and Noah would be haunted by the loss of another sibling and Phyllis would be brought back to her original state. I can't even believe I'm suggesting this because MG is one of the best in daytime, but it just came to me how Daniel's death could transform a slew of characters.

    • Elements of it were silly, but it was a small price to pay to get Zas back. I should say there's a difference between in town and out of town returns. It's understandable for Roger to skulk around town in a bad wig and clown suit when he's in Springfield and running the risk of bumping in to people he knows.  Taking us out of town to find someone always has a short shelf life. Then it usually becomes about another character knowing X is alive but determined to keep them out of Springfield. Like Alan discovering Amish Reva. I don't know how long it went on, but it was probably twice as long as necessary.
    • Elizabeth Dennehy complained on the Locher Room about how ridiculous so much of the writing was for Roger's return. She laughed at so much of Roger's antics and how it was hard for her to take them seriously. Probably another reason she was fired as she didn't play the game.
    • Only thing I enjoyed was Abby / Olivia, etc., and the addiction storyline. Otherwise, I could do without the season.
    • Right? Vanessa had a ball gown for every occasion.
    • Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era.  It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
    • He also gave some of the best episodes, like the episodes surrounding Doug's death. The problem with Days was that Ron had a horrible vision from he top. I don't feel the same for MVJ and nothing that has happened in all these months suggests she doesn't have a handle on the show. Now if it becomes an issue I'll acknowledge it, but I'm not seeing it so far.
    • Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.
    • It wasn't just a GL thing, it was an 80s thing. Opulent party scenes on soaps were very big back then. Even in regular episodes where people are just going to dinner they're dressed up like they're going to see royalty.
    • Just started the May 27 episode and first thing I see is that Willow got an ugly haircut since hte last time i watched   I dont have the context for how everthing went down but I know its all Lulu's fault which make her a bish for what she did to Gio
    • I'm pretty sure he was. But point taken. GL really had a thing for masked and costumed balls/parties in the '80's. Everyone looks fabulous, but those poor costume designers.
