I loved Bellamy on Scandal. She helped make that show. I wish I could remember her from AW, but I'm sure she was just an extra in a way. Too bad. Maybe her character and John should have hooked up instead of John and Felicia. lol

I had to look it up -- she was the first Courtney Evans, replaced after a few weeks by Stina Nielsen. Based on the synopses Courtney didn't do much while Bellamy was in the rôle and I admit although I remember Stina as Courtney I don't remember Bellamy at all.

I wish Courtney had not had such a grim life and a grim end. I would rather she had had Kelsey's opportunities.

So, a really odd thing happened. I was in a FB Msgr small group chat. The conversation turned to the recent AMC anniversary celebration & then another step to last year's AW anniversary event. I said: Can y'all believe that those of us who bought the video pkg still haven't gotten a video. And this one guy exploded saying WHAT? WAIT! CHECK YOUR MSGS. So I entered the private chat with him.

Turns out he is the guy who did the video for her. What he says is somewhat different from what she said:  No, she didn't sue him. But, according to him, she blew up over things that truly were not important. However when I asked him if he had a copy of the video ... He said he wasn't sure. But he indicated that he wanted to avoid any contact at all with her. He was truly upset that we still don't have the video we ordered & paid for.

This would be an Edit if we only had enough time but we don't so I'm left with the awkward construction of quoting myself.

I made several different suggestions of things that could be done if I could get my hands on a copy of this video, in whatever shape it happened to be in. Labeling it a "bootleg" & posting it. Quietly, passing it around in email & via Google drives or Mega accounts but not posting about it anywhere in public. Variations on that but making it clear it would be on my head, not on his.

He stood firm on the point that she would find out, know that it could only have come from him & how badly he did not want to have to deal with her, ever again.

So, we're stuck.

The first thing I ever saw her in was that remake of The Waltons Homecoming a couple of years ago, and I was not impressed.  Whatever acting style they asked the actors to affect was the strangest choice I've ever seen on TV, and it was not flattering to any of the actors. I don't even know what to call it -- but it was sort of wide-eyed, dopey, and naive, I suppose.  But it made all the characters and the actors appear to be nuts.  I'm assuming this was intentional on the part of the director, but I'll never understand why.   I've since heard that Bellamy is a very good actor on the stage.  So maybe I'll see her in something else sometime.

On YouTube is the 1981-87 opening and closing theme presented in Stereo Sound.  This is crisp and clean.  The first time I’ve heard the opening theme with no voiceover or sponsor tag.

Starting at around 8 minutes into this you get some glimpses of AW's backstage, including Ann Wedgworth and maybe Jordan Charney rehearsing. And a brief, beautiful moment where the camera pans over the cast portraits that lined one of the walls. So powerful to get this short glimpse of the factory of legends. That part of the footage would have to be from 1967 - not sure if the Search material is.

    • I totally agree with this, as most of you seem to. Mary Carney was at least competent and reasonably likable; I just feel like she barely had anything of substance to do before she was abruptly given the hook. And I get the backstory of Kathleen Tolan having done a play with Helen Gallagher, but...at any point did they ever actually READ her before they greenlit her? Because...OOF. First time I saw her on SoapNet was right when this GODAWFUL actress named Charity Rahmer played Belle on Days of Our Lives for all of three weeks before she was mercifully recast; her line readings were straight out of a Charlie Brown special. I remember thinking Kathleen Tolan could have played her mother! In the Frank/Jill/Delia triangle, Delia WAS the one who was cheated on, so I got why she was upset and thought it was perfectly valid in theory at least, but of course it was blown up to Wagnerian proportions including falls involving staircases and tricycles. But with Pat/Faith/Delia I had no sympathy for her...especially because it was mainly with Catherine Hicks's Faith and I really liked her.
    • I was going through those episodes from 1984 and early 1985 before they were taken down. Some of the older characters, like Don and even Tom, looked a little out of place, like they were on the wrong show. But the newer characters were fun. It's too bad they lost the character of Melissa. I guess Jennifer took her long-term place on the canvas.

    • The black and white episodes of the show are very special. An atmosphere the color run loses. Dark Shadows was filmed live-on-tape. They could do a retake but it would be very expensive. I think there was a claim that if actors wanted a retake they would curse. There was also a rumor that at one point Joan Bennett accidentally said "Hollywood" instead of "Collinwood" and that necessitated a retake.

    • It is a shame that more characters didn't go the ATWT-Barbara route and make the ingénue into an antagonist. Sort of like they did with Liza/Hogan/Sunny, less successfully. It is a credit to ATWT's creativity that breathed life in that character for years after she was fighting off bulls in Spain.  But, a character like Liza can only have so many true loves and high jinks on the high seas.  They need another reason to be in the story. Liza's wealth, as well as her acumen to see through fraud, was fertile ground for tons of stories.  But, I feel like the business stories for Liza were always about her being easily overwhelmed, rather than exploring things like her leadership and managerial skills.
    • STFU!! Dante!!! This nonsense of blaming Gio is just ridiculous! Alexis and Lucky are becoming so unlikable. Why are the writers writing these characters so poorly?
    • Keith still comes off younger to me. I thought he wasn't that bad for his first day.
    • To be fair, they were only recently step-siblings.  Their parents married within the past few years.  And, Draper's father Ansel was not coy about the fact that he married Raven's mother, Nadine, for the money. And, Raven's sort of sticking it to April that not only can she have a baby (April has a heart condition that makes it difficult for her to carry a child to term), she could also have April's man, if she wanted him.
