Anyway, we heard about the Red Swan each & every day for about a year and a half. There were reasons, justifiable ones, why it went on so long. But, all of us were about ready to scream if they talked about that Da&ned Swan one more single time! Alternately some of us wished just to get our hands on it, for maybe 11 minutes & that would be enough time to destroy that awful thing. Libidizone is the AMC equivalent. It was a chemical that made people lose all their inhibitions. Y&R it's reliquary. Which is something like an ancient article. Every day for a year and a half? Which year was this? So are you saying there is an ACTUAL living creature RED swan in the show? Colour me shocked! Quack! s Edited January 22, 2025Jan 22 by Maxim

The Red Swan was a MacGuffin. In literature -- an object or device that serves as a trigger for the plot. Some soap opera MacGuffins have made for interesting storylines. Sadly, the Red Swan was not one of them. Poorly conceived and poorly written. Probably one of AW's worst major storylines EVER. Edited January 22, 2025Jan 22 by Mona Kane Croft

Anyways - thank you for the clarification! I hope I "disagree" with you when I watch this storyline... And I hope I enjoy it. ❤️ Knowing my taste, probably won't... but we'll see.

She mentioned in her WLS interview how degrading the experience was. https://www.welovesoaps.net/2010/02/catching-up-with-judith-barcroft-part-1.html 5 minutes ago, Maxim said: Nooooo... why does my luck always has to be sooo bad. The worst I could say was I found it somewhat dull. 8 hours ago, TheyStartedOnSoaps said: NBC was thrilled with JFP numbers, but it looked bad on P&G that Another World had higher demos than their jewel in the crown ATWT. It is embarrasing that more women were tuned into Another World than As The World Turns from P&G stand-point. I'm sure they were fine with AW having high ratings, as long as it was always behind ATWT. Given how much P&G had let ATWT rot away in this time period I wonder if they would have been as upset if JFP had not eviscerated so much of the budget. I hope she beats this and pulls through! I have only seen a few clips of her on AW. I know her mostly from Falcon Crest. I wish there was more of her work out there as Lenore. Heartbreaking to hear this - I knew she had had cancer but didn't know her current status. I hope all the best for her.

The Red Swan was probably the first time that Donna Swajeski strayed from Harding Lemay’s bible. Rachel receives the Red Swan as a gift shortly after Mac’s death. The Red Swan was totally her storyline.

But thank you for trying to keep my spirits up. 😊 You all will see my honest reaction when I get to this part. I just hope it's not Margaret DePriest level of cringe dialogue! I slept with men.mp4

Then, Agnes Nixon wrote her a part on All My Children. No one made her take the dayplayer part of the pharmacist on AW in the late 80s. She “degraded” herself, no one at AW was to blame for that.
