I know Melody has control of her wardrobe on the show or at least a great deal more than that other actors, and if you've seen most of Melody's personal style outside of the show - it's VERY tacky. I have a feeling its going to be Jack's though Im not sure if Im feeling Mac's makeover. She comes across too hard with the long hair and dress. I think I prefer the short hair on her Haha, that makes sense now. Wish she had gone for something more tasteful though bc like you said, it came across tacky. The bottom of her dress was huge. A variety of reasons have been reported for phasing them out, one of the Y&R historians here might be able to provide better information as to why Bell did it.
