I loved this episode too! Glee has been very good this season so far - 3 out of 3 that I liked. Kurt singing "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and the flashbacks was so sad. I haven't heard "One of Us" by Joan Osbourne in so long! Love that song. Need to download that. :)

Episode 2.3: "Grilled Cheesus"

Finn: Mr. Shue, I have something to say. Something happened to me and I can’t really get into it but it’s shaken me to my core.

Puck: Oh my God, he’s coming out.

Finn: Why yes. There is a man who sort of recently came into my life….and that man…is Jesus Christ.

Puck: That’s way worse.

Brittany: Whenever I pray, I fall asleep.

Finn: You got a problem with Jesus?

Puck: No, I got no problem with guy. I’m a total Jew-for-Jesus – he’s my number one Heb.

Finn: What up, Grilled Cheesus. I need to ask you for something. I didn’t go to Sunday School so I don’t know if God works the same as a Genie and I only get three wishes. But here’s the thing, dating Rachel’s great but she’s kind of a prude and I’m sort of going crazy. Anyway, her boobs aren’t that great but they’re still girl boobs and I would really like to touch them. So Cheesus, considering that I dedicated a week of my mystical life to you, I hope you can see it in your heart to answer my prayers. Amen.

Brittany: I did a book report on heart-attacks if you want to give it to the doctor. I got knocked down an entire letter grade because it was written in crayon.

Brittany: Is God an evil dwarf?

Figgens: Sue, children should be allowed to profess whatever faith they choose.

Sue: At the B.E.T. Awards, but not at a public school.

Rachel: Both of my dads were people’s slaves once.

Sue: I need to go what’s going on with that Glee Club. Brittany, Jugs-the-Clown, go.

Santana: Mostly everyone’s just very sad for Kurt but no one knows how to help.

Brittany: I read on a card that heart attacks are just from loving too much.

Tina: Last week we were too sexy, this week we’re too religious – we can’t win.

Brittany: Now I know what Miley feels like.

I'm totally in FLOVE with Chord Overstreet. Gorgeous, and his voice is orgasmic. He's like, perfect. And since Quinn is as well. They are perfect SQUARED!

This was the BEST episode of Glee!!! Finally a well balanced show.

Sorry for the immature squeeing, but I just could not and would not contain myself!

I hope Sam isn't actually gay though. I don't want his awesomeness to be wasted on "thinks it's okay to harass whoever he wants" Kurt. At least the show went out of their way to show he was psychotic with Finn.

I thought the episode wasn't that great. LOL It wasn't that funny (so few quotable lines) and I didn't know any of the songs. I do think Sam is a good addition (he has a great voice) to the show and I like him with Quinn. I like Asian/Other Asian's duet the best only because of Other Asian's dancing.

Episode 2.4: "Duets"

Brittany: He must be the dumbest person on this planet, and that’s coming from me.

Brittany: Hi. So I just want you to know that I’m really into you.

Artie: Okay. Sorry, I’m just a little confused – you’ve never made eye contact with me.

Brittany: I know. For a while I thought you were a robot.

Kurt: He’s on team gay. No straight boy does his hair to look like Linda Evangelista circa 1993.

Kurt: I have 3 gifts: my voice, my ability to spot trends in men’s fashion and my ability to know when it comes from a bottle.

Santana: How can you do a duet by yourself? That’s like vocal masturbation or something.

Brittany carrying Artie to the bed was funny.

The pics are hot. They look good. Who cares? People are making way too big a deal about these. They arent on the Disney channel and they didnt do playboy. They really are taken quite a beating over this in the press and I think people need to lighten up.

I know this was apparently Fox's doing, and one thing I can't blame on Ryan Murphy... I can't believe for their probably cringe inducing upcoming Rocky Horror episode--such lyrics as "heavy petting" and even "transvestite" have been forced to be replaced with toned down lyrics (how can you do Rocky Horror and not say transvestite??). Yet, this show loves to call one of its characters "JewFro", has refered to lesbian "scissoring", etc? Is heavy petting even a term that networks are worried about anymore??

I thinkit is hypocritical, and that GQ really should get the blunt of the blame. All three actors are really new to this (where were their agents??), though I know there's been a bit of complaining that Lea already was topless (only partially viewable) on stage in Spring Awakening (John Groff showed his ass there too, but no one seemed to care--and he's not a major actor on Glee anyway)--but of course that wasn't captured on film.

That said--I do think particularly lea's panty shots are in horribly bad taste, and not remotely hot (and don't say that's only cuz I'm not straight :P While I might prefer it, if Cory had been in a jock strap in the pics, I would equally call it in poor taste. Of course he went to my high school and we shared a gym change room a few times--maybe I shoulda taken a picture :P). The issue isn't that they're adults now--the issue is that they were *in character* for the photo spread, as teenagers. (That said accusations of pedophilia or child pornography are surreally ridiculous. Child pornography is a serious, important issue, and I feel to lay labels like that on something like this is completely counter productive).

I think part of it is that some who are commenting on the photos already hate Glee (like the Parents Television groups) and some others just want to be on the bandwagon for morality, but the photo I saw of Lea Michelle was tacky and degrading. The others didn't seem as bad but that one was like a big banner for all that's wrong with how women are presented today. I actually think this was worse than tasteful nude shots (although I guess those aren't around anymore), because of the cheap, assembly line sleaze of the pose. In these panties, legs spread wide open, with a dead look on her face. It made her look like a doll someone had posed. There was no life or sensuality. It just reinforced again how women are commodities today and that the days of women in the media actually being sexy or attractive are tougher and tougher to find.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with Eric,a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he smashed into a mirror, dying of glass wounds. So there was a supernatural element. I wonder if the Brody character in the credits was Eric Brody?
    • AI has it wrong. David was working as an aide at PV Hospital due to failing to save his brother's life and refusing to continue as a doctor. His true profession was revealed later. Edna had divorced him while he was in Vietnam and he had no reason to be in contact with her. He had no idea that he had a daughter.  Ruth was Ruth Martin, she was still married to Joe, not Jeff. He was not deceiving Ruth as he believed that Edna was his ex. The poisoning story happened late in his run and probably introduced when they knew Gleason was leaving. AI's interpretation of him as conniving seems to based on that short lived poisoning story and other misinformation. For most of 76 he was involved in the Ruth/Joe triangle to the point where Ruth was ready to divorce Joe and leave town. Joe had to have surgery, David operated and Ruth suddenly realized she wanted to stay with Joe despite all the problems they'd been happening. David then got involved with Christina with Jeff and then Edna as complications. And he arrived late 75 not 76.
    • Interesting that they started going into a supernatural direction with ghosts - I don't think they really did that before? I wonder if it was a response to getting put so late in the afternoon and I guess trying to appeal to that former Dark Shadows audience?
    • That makes sense then! Is there a place where you can read more Daytime Serial Newsletters? They sound very informative. Thank you
