Y&R: Week of March 9, 2009

But IMO, River was useless, as are both Tyra and Ana.

They're good characters.

It's the writing & acting that sucks.

She's too good for that.

She should have 2 or 3.

But Y&R has always been unfairly snubbed by the Emmys.

The new rules really allow Y&R to unfairly snub their own and submit some very suspect contenders. I hope that JC does get another. It shocked me to find out that last years was her first, she has lead this show for decades!!

If only Adrianne Leon were still playing Colleen. Then Braeden would be BEGGING the writers for the opportunity to share a scene with her. Because after all, everyone knows that 'fans' want her back.
Grow up already; my previous post was a joke!! Can no one utter TS' name without you getting all defensive?

If that was supposed to be Devon in the last Tyra/Neil scene, it was lit TERRIBLY. I could barely make him out, and I've got a pretty big TV.
It was him and spoilers indicate that

Devon is really pissed with Neil and doesn't want him and Karen to adopt little Ana.

It's true. They use them rarely, but when they finally do it's quite bad. No, scratch that, it's really bad. Ever since Tyra and Ana returned to Genoa City six months ago we're still on the same storyline with tiny details added.
I haven't been interested in anything Winters' related since Dru left and I wasn't a huge fan of the character towards the end; just another thing that LML ruined.

But that's basically it. When they were created, they got their names and ever since then the writing has been bad and the acting didn't help it one bit.

The idea might have been good but the execution ruined it.

Amen.

She deserves it.

She's been absolutely flawless.

ITA. :)

I don't get why the writers are forcing the Neil/Tyra pairing. They have not established why Neil would be attracted to Tyra beyond the obvious physical attraction of her being young and beautiful. The problem is Neil has never been that superficial before. It's like the show is forcing this triangle and it is also being written in spurts. On one week, off another week.

The show obviously likes Eva Marcille. It is certainly not because she is a decent actress because she is pretty bad. Maybe the network is pushing her, but it ruins Neil in the process.

Neil likes being the knight in shining armor. Tyra is impulsive and downtrodden, and she interests him. Olivia claimed that Tyra reminds her fo Dru and that Neil could have more passion with Tyra than with Karen.

Anyway, I think that Kristoff and Eva have really good sexual chemistry. Eva's good at playing kissing and sex scenes, and that's kind of important on soaps.

It's important for those two to three scenes but what about other scenes where she has to play different types of emotion?

I wish I could get more into this storyline, but it ain't happening.

Why doesn't dipshit

jump in when they are stripping each other down? Or did Auntie's boobies give him a hard on and he has to go whack off before he can confront Neil?

Exactly! He should have stopped them and confronted them immediately. That would be something different.

That's a nono I wouldn't stop them either. There is a classy way to do this from my POV so I agree with Devon turning around. Why confront them and he is not directly affected it will only make it worse because the point is the want to sleep with one another

And really, who wants to look at their father figure and aunt half naked? Yuck.

Thankfully, we probably won't see Neil and Tyra for another two weeks...

He could have yelled out "stop it" or something and mentioned Karen's name.

This way, it just becomes way too easy to hate Neil.

But, at least Peeples will get a chance to expand her "memorable" scenes on the show.

Look who that family is headed by - boring old Neil. That character has never been remotely interesting in the first place, he's one of those straight characters that often comes off as one huge hypocrite.

I don't care to see Neil's personal life without Dru, keep him in business stories at Newman, which they don't seem to focus on anymore.

The Winters seemingly serve no purpuse on this show anymore, sadly, I don't think I would care if they were written out. It's obvious that they don't know what the hell to do with them.

Yes, Neil was introduced FOR Drucilla. He was the straight anchor to her mail-cart crashing self even then. He was the naysayer who tried to squash her modeling career. You're right...Neil was ALWAYS a supporting player...and he is lost as the lead.

Neil is a dull as dishwater character, he really needs a women of the same age group that's feisty and takes no prisoners, which Tyra will never be.

The Winters have always been sort of lost without Dru, for all her tumultuous tendencies, she was a very stable factor for that family and grounded them in a unique way. But we know too many bridges have been burnt for Rowell to return.

I agree. Dru really was the force that made us interested in all the rest. Although Dru's final months on the show were kind of ruinous, even then--she is what made us care.

So, I'm reconsidering what someone else said upthread, "They're good characters". Maybe they're not! Without Malcolm and Dru and -- heck -- even Nathan and Olivia to make us care, we just....don't.

Is it OUT OF THE QUESTION that Rowell comes back? IMPOSSIBLE? How could it be accomplished?

Really and I agree that it does make it easier to hate Neil! Hell, I still have a hard time looking at Devon after LML had him lusting after Lily. Hopefully, he's done with the lusting after his relatives.

Agreed!
