That's not a surprise, they're always good with removing people, but horrible with adding people. I seem to recall both Eileen Davidson and Victoria Rowell being removed fast too, yet even since Eileen's been back, they've had no intention of adding her back.

Y&R has always been HORRIBLE when updating their opening credits though. I love how Michelle Stafford, for example, was never added to the red jazzy porn opening that lasted until 2003. LOL!

I am SO glad that people are calling Nick out on his hypocritical bullshit. The line of the day goes to Michael for this gem: "nicholas Newman may want something but that doesn't mean he's going to get it." Tomorrow's scenes with

look especially delicious. Let him have it!

Yes, completely ridiculous..... Y&R with its budget you would think would be more on the ball. I put great stock in opening credits too so it kind of brings the show down slightly in my book :P:P

Hopefully Paul Rauch and MAB will get on that. I'd love a homage to the theme they had in the late 80's-90's.

Yeah, as I mentioned earlier, you could see then signs today that something is wrong with Sharon, especially in those scenes with Jack about Noah, and when Nick called her. Then when she was in tears at the end, something is really wrong with her.

I don't mind Nick and Sharon being overprotective of Noah, I'd expect nothing less given their experience with Cassie.

Nick was such an ass to Lauren in that scene where he accused her and Michael of leaving their liquor cabinet open for Eden to steal and give to Noah. But that's pretty much in tune with so many parents, they always place the blame someplace else, instead of realizing their kids are flawed people too.

I don't know, I recall an interview with Tonya Lee Williams a few months back where a fan asked her about the opening. She said that the casts jokes about it constantly, and apparently, it costs them money to add people, or something strange like that. But the production people always good with removing people, they just never add anyone.

I don't understand what's so hard about it. B&B seems to be quite ready to adjust their opening whenever someone new is on contract or whenever someone is dropped from contract (which is, of course, a regular occurrence).

Today's episode is really, really good. Jill can really be an unpleasant bitch at times, I swear. I don't see how Esther could stand to live in that house with her.

Kudos to Phyll for choosing to take the high road and be the rational one in this situation. I thought for sure she'd lose her [!@#$%^&*] all over Nick, but she impressed me. Go 'head, girl, show him that he ain't nuthin!

Katherine and Murphy are so great together. When/if Katherine ever gets back home and stays there, Jill is going to be one frigid, rigid b-word to everyone she sees. She needs action, real bad. Victor might could use some wild oat-sowing.

Oh, and I can't be the only one sick and tired of Nick blaming everything Noah does on Eden. A penis does not do ALL of your thinking!

IMO, Phylis should have talked to Michael before she went running to Brad, but so be it. I won't say what I think Drucilla would've been doing weeks ago, but lets just say Sharon wouldn't have had that fancy wardrobe. You don't mess with crazy people, and married men are sometimes married to crazy wives.

Who cares if Nick runs to Sharon at this point? I thought the he said he was in love with both of them?

I'm not that bothered by the opening. It kinda gives me a sense of continuity, and I don't mind that it's not updated that often. Actually, I'm not even looking forward to a new one. I'm afraid it would turn out to be something dreadful like the 'red porn opening' was to some, or Rauch's openings at GL were to me (but compared to Conboy's opening, they were gold).

That's so true. And I speak from experience with my own two sons. You never want to think it's YOUR kid that's the problem. LOL

Sharon Case was great today...she's edging into Sharon's breakdown really well, not going too far too fast. I continue to be impressed with her day in and day out.

I could have gone to art school, learned to draw and gotten my masters in the time it takes Y&R to update their opening. Photoshop has come a long way since they first had the excuse that it was too expensive to update it often. What are they doing, filming it on gold?

Poor Sharon, if she didn't need to find herself, no one would be dead. She's right to go nuts and blame herself for once.

Esther is dumb, dumb, dumb and I hope hers is the next funeral.

    • I like that this episode highlighted the ramifications of what Eva and her rotten mama did. They were so focused on Ted and Nicole, not even realizing that other people would be affected. Eva thought nothing of what she did to Mona bc she was sure no on would hold anything against her but Mona is right in that they ruined her reputation with the Duprees. They dont blame her but they will likely never trust her judgement again. She has to walk by them feeling the guilt and shame that she'll never live down bc she unknowingly played a role in the hell that was unleashed. Not to mention the trauma and trust issues she no has bc she genuinely viewed Leslie as a friend   And poor Laura nearly died when she had that car accident and then had a heart attack and infection bc she was poisond. She's been recuperating for 3 months. She missed her trip to Hawaii and no idea what impact this has done on her relationship and her own plans but no on was thinking about that.   Eva and Leslie need to be made to feel like ish bc this was bigger than just Ted and Nicole

    • Understand your point.  But I usually see Reginald's mustache twirling villainy as ultra campy bordering on comedic (albeit unsuccessfully).  And upon Reginald's exit, most of the overt camp/comedy seemed to cease. And although I'm aware camp and comedy are not exactly the same thing, I tend to throw them together anyway -- especially when discussing soaps.  You are correct, Mary was not played for laughs.  When I used to term "let's play everything for laughs" I didn't mean literally everything or every character was comedic. But TPTB put so much effort into comedy, it did tend to eat the show for a few years (again not literally). I'm just expressing my perspective on the topic, and lots of folks probably disagree.  That's cool. People who like comedy on soaps tend to defend it, and folks who don't like comedy (or think it want too far) tend to criticize it.  Whichever side of the fence one is on, it sure didn't help the ratings on AW.
    • Nope, it was not just you, I had the same issues. Most either disagreed with me, or just ignored my comments. But, I most definitely would have liked for them to take another route, even to add sheer variety in the storytelling. It is what it is, the story is a hit with the fans...
    • You may be a casual watcher, but you got SO much right.
    • I've been eagerly awaiting Kate's first episode under the new writers, and I wasn't disappointed. I started reminiscing about all of Kate's misdeeds when she said how good of a liar she was and how she saw right through Roman's lying. I really buy this matured, but still wise Kate in 2025, and the fact that you know under the right circumstances, the more ruthless side is always there, under the surface. Hopefully, with Roman about to confess, we get the full truth about just what the hell happened with Johnny the night EJ was shot, then all the major suspects will be eliminated, just for the writers to throw in that wrench that's waiting for it's time to shine. Everytime Brady thaws even a little bit towards Kristen I immediately get concerned. I was entertained by their fight, and it was smart to mention Kirsten having no friends, let alone positive female relationships except for Lani in regards to why Rachel is such a loser. As a viewer, do you think Stacy Haiduk as Kristen was at all thinking about her former friendships with Jennifer and Billie in that moment? I wonder if she's even aware that they were, or who Billie even is. Anyway, I do wish Kristen could have also thrown in Brady's face that he's literally the biggest slut in Salem. Rachel seeing and possibly hearing about him going from woman to woman would also negatively affect Rachel's negative ideals about women, and possibly her own self-hatred. I thought Doug's favourite class being English lit was a good through line from how impressed he was with grandpa Doug's poetry book to Julie. Hearing he dropped out because no one at home cared just made me yearn for more information about Charles LeClair as a father and person. Maybe it was this time that Robert LeClair was dying so Charles was distracted and it all fell apart after that? Alex with Kristen today is the most interesting I've seen him written. He was smarmy and cold and for a quick second looked like he was enjoying playing with Kristen clearly throwing herself at him, but when she dropped her facade he became merciful, but still unwilling to budge. He would have fit in well in the more complex 70s era as a cad with a heart underneath his bravado. However, and I can't stress this enough, I absolutely despise whenever he calls Philip, 'Phil.' It just itches my brain in all the wrong ways.
