Members LoyaltoAMC
I have a hard time believing that AMC was nearly cancelled 2 years ago to make room for Days. Frons gave an interview around this time, when Days was in that freefall a few months after Hogan had started as HW, that no way would they pick up Days, that it just wasn't economically feasible, or something to that effect. Plus, ABC can cancel AMC anytime it wants and replace it with cheaper programming. Why would its survival have been contingent on Days being renewed or not? If they were intent on cancelling, they wouldn't have canned McT, hired Babs & Jimbo, and spent all that dough on Budig, Williams, and Morgan. None of that makes sense. Members smadleyb
Oh Nelson... Dear Nelson... Let's say his 2 predictions come true - GL is cancelled in April 2009 and when June 2009 comes around he'll make a big story about Kim not re-newing her contract with the soap that's already off the air. Members marceline
OLTL gave him the interview with TSJ. So I guess it's paying off for him. I suspect we'll soon see an ode to OLTL done in iambic pentameter with an accompanying video of interpretive dance.
Members Kubla Khan
I doubt for a second that ABC was considering acquiring Days, because it would have been the ultimate shittiest investment they could possibly do. Yes - cancel the soap that has been on the air for 35+ years, is cheaper to produce, that you own and control, and has the same amount of viewers (if not more), alieniating loyal viewers in the process. Replace that with an overbudgeted, expensive ratings disaster that would not be owned by you. Not only is not owned by you, but it's owned by Ken Corday - who mismanages the show's budget endlessly. ABC, if anything, would have a lot to gain if Days died -- they could steal their talent, and would surely benefit from even less network competition. ABC made a serious effort to acquire Days in 1998, but that was when the show was a ratings hit and just come off of a year nearly dethroning the no. 1 rated daytime soap. Since then, people have this vision in their head that everyone still wants Days, despite the fact that it's dissolved into ratings, financial and creative ruins. ABC is over it. Members EastMA2
He's a little bit late with the news that allegedly, GL has to sustain a 1.8 to remain on the air. That story started circulating at least 4 months ago. I have no idea if it's true or not, I just know that it started making the rounds months ago. Great "scoop" Nelson! Members dragonflies
It wouldn't be cheaper nor feasible for ABC to acquire Days. Uh yeah pay fees to air a show and basically costs them a sh*tload, yet cancel one they OWN, that makes them money. Nelson's smoking some good stuff that's for sure. Members jfung79
I am LMAO that he is so convinced of his GL/P&G/CBS hate that he has to tell himself that even though he likes what he sees of GL on YouTube, those have to be the best bits. Yeah, the Olivia/Natalia stuff is good, but the Alan/Beth/Coop/Buzz/Lillian and Bill/Lizzie stories are on FIRE! I'm excited that Laurence Lau said Brian might be back on ATWT. I think it is the right move for GL to recast Harley, if they decide to do that. Hopefully Beth Ehlers will come back eventually to return to the role as well, when GL is still around in 2012 despite all the gloom and doom predictions. Members Chris B
Michelle Stafford and LML were good friends and she LOVED what was done with Phyllis. However unpopular she defended it and has said that she doesn't want Phyllis going back to her total bad ways and won't have it. If that rumor of Phyllis shooting Brad while trying to kill Sharon is true, I'd see it even more. Honestly, I'd LOVE for that spoiler to become true. It's classic, emotional trigger happy Phyllis and would amazing TV.

Phyllis does not work as a goody two shoes. She is a vixen..... and the character and acting of Stafford suffers when she is written as anything else. Members Sylph
Yeah, she loved Latham because Latham centred a lot of stories around here. She should just be written off by a hilarious death like one of those soap staples: falling off a cliff, hit by a train... And never return. I always detested the character and she more than outstayed her welcome - that was never a leading role and it's time someone sent Michelle "Sh!tty" Stafford to Mars. The revenge of the Bells is upon her.
Members Aback
I agree with Adam: Stafford might have loved being on 1/5, but she phoned it in big time, something she almost never did before - hence she wasn't impressed by LML's storylines. Y&R has invested so much in the Phyllis character that I can't see them getting rid of her. That being said, as much as I instantly loved her when she came back in 2001, the character definitely needs some rest after these years of over-exposure. Members Adam
Sometime in a mental institution would suffice. I've never bought a sane Phyllis....
Members Heyou
Phyllis does seem to be losing everything these days from Nick to Daniel, if the rumors of MG leaving are true. I'd love to see her do some time in a padded cell.
Members y&r_fan
Phyllis isn't going anywhere. She's the most popular female character. Letting her go would be suicide. I like Phyllis the way she is right now. I don't want her to be a one-note psycho like she was in the 90s, or Martha Stewart like she was a year ago.
