I just feel so sad for all the people who are going to suffer now, the poor, the sick, gay and transgender people, the most vulnerable in society. And the irreparable damage a Trump administration will do to the environment.

I won't be affected all that much personally, I'm a white, cis male with no children in a foreign country, but my heart aches for all those who will suffer because of this man and his cronies. It may sound overly dramatic, but I feel like I have lost a little bit of faith in humanity after this.

How the hell are we going to look forward to the midterms when now the Republicans have the chance to implement Project 2025 and we're not only going to have a national abortion ban but gay marriage is also more than likely going to be overturned now and birth control might even get banned now? There is nothing the Democrats can do now; we're basically super screwed at this point. As a matter of fact they are pretty much done as a party. They pushed Joe Biden out of the race and for what? Just to be humiliated by the GOP? What if the new regime passes a series of laws where television shows can't even have POC or gay characters or storylines in movies and T.V. shows anymore? I also won't be surprised if in a few years women won't be allowed to vote or even work outside the home either.

In my birth country... phobists and maniacs are already cheering and saying - Bye bye to the gender this and that and woke this and that. They feel like they've won and that from this moment on they can parade with their homophobia and hatred. And they will. They will. I am not even going to be visiting my birth country from this moment on, maybe only If I have to for some reason. And all my relatives are there... my parents. They will all close their eyes like they always do and not react or if I say something... respond to me how this is USA and it will not affect us. Oh... IT WILL and it already is. They were all waiting for this. These vultures are around the world!

God... just imagine what can happen with the war in Ukraine when Trump gets to power. That's when I start panicking and my heart rate goes up. This has potential to evolve into a catastrophe for humanity.

And... just to remind us all... this is a person who jokes with Global warming like it's not a real thing.

I hope I wake up in couple of hours and all of this is just a dream... and Harris won.

What also really frightens me is that this isn't just happening here. Fascism and authoritarianism is on the rise in many countries around the world. People are losing faith in democracy and embracing extremism. The US can no longer be trusted as leader of the free world and there's no natural successor to step up to the plate. I fear for the lives of people both here and around the world in the coming years.

No. The people who voted for this deserve to suffer for it, the rest of us do not. I feel like it's time to accept that when these people talked about civil war they meant it. They've been at war with us for years. Republicans aren't our opponents, they are our enemy.

There are too many people who cannot vote for a woman as President and that is what the problem is full stop. The economy is going to be a mess in four years and it will be squarely on the shoulders of those who supported this idiot.

Right now the best thing we can do is self-care and taking care of each other as best we can. 2017‐2021 was such on drain on my spirit and I cannot do that again. Unplugging and regrouping slowly how to go because we do have work to do but it has to be done with calmness and mindfulness of our mental states.

There's a reason why Putin paid the likes of Tim Pool to push the civil war line for years.

Trump always, always needs an enemy. He will turn against his own soon enough and we will also be the targets. He lives through fomenting chaos and has an army of morons who are there for him at every turn. A Rittenhouse in every pot.

A part of me does wonder how much worse they would have been if Harris had won, but I can't tell myself they're going to be much better now.

The last time Trump was in office, people literally died. This is not theoretical. It’s not about wonder. It is about fact. People who were in his cabinet have been warning that he will be worse because he will be unbounded by anyone who would have held his worse impulses in check. You can’t put lipstick on a pig.

America voted to throw her arms widen open to facism. Let’s stop thinking otherwise.

    • For any other soap, I think I’d agree, but GH, I don’t know

    • Agreed, that there was some strange choices in the episode, especially at the end, but overall, that was some great drama that opens up the potential for so much future storyline. Kat vs. Eva having the most potential, especially over Tomas. I have mixed feelings about Martin/BC though. I thought he did pretty well in scenes with Smitty/MM, but the scenes of him confronting Leslie and of him throwing the books were bad lol she acted circles around him.  It’s similar to what Harding Lemay said about George Reinholt at AW; he could be brilliant in one scene, but then mediocre in the next.
    • I know some of y'all really like Brooke Kerr, and so I've tried to give her a shot, despite her frequent flat line readings and distracted "did I leave the front door unlocked?" facial expressions. But lord, she is so bad at playing a tough-talking badass that I was actually rooting for Brad today to spill the beans to Drew.
    • Googling does tend to ruin it.  For those of us who were teens in the late 1970s and early 1980s, you can't imagine how much fun it was to watch the show in the afternoons.  (It came on right after school.)  There weren't any "spoilers" at the time.  We would always try to anticipate how each crime and each mystery would be resolved, and we were ALWAYS wrong, because the stories are filled with so many weird twists and turns.   The head writer (Henry Slesar) and his dialogue writer (Steve Lehrman) invariably toss genuine clues directly into your face in the most unlikely ways, but then they provide a host of "red herrings" to completely confuse you and send you off on the wrong path.  Once the story reaches its conclusion, all you can think is Why didn't I figure that out weeks ago?  lol
    • Does the vault have the original scene and not the short flashback?
    • I appreciate that you are using AI with the knowledge of it's limitations. Some posters take everything it produces as fact.
    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
    • @Maxim Great to see your mini-reviews again. There are a number of clips on Youtube of Janice's slow mental breakdown, especially as we go into January 1980. Christine Jones is just superb. She played the hell out of that role. Something which isn't referenced as much later on is how Mitch pushed Janice's doubts and mental instability for his own ends...until suddenly he didn't want to anymore (I guess he caught on with the audience and the show became wary). I don't want to post a bunch of clips, but this one has a very good confrontation between Rachel and Janice.

This has a good scene around 7 minutes in where you can see Janice struggling internally with her need to identify herself so much by the men around her, all of which helps lead to her crackup.
