I think that talk of breaking the filibuster has gotten this far is an indication of something else. If it happens once, it will happen again. It won't end here. That's why I'm pleased. McConnell is foolish to force this, but he has only one trick - obstruct, and hope they never touch the filibuster.

Sinema is now in a position where she can do and say whatever she wants as she knows the Beltway can and will make her a martyr because of the bathroom incident. They are clinging to dear life to a narrative that  Manchin and Sinema are the conscience of the party. So yes, I have no real expectation they will do anything but tank bills (especially her) to show how maverick-y they are.

Then there's this, which sounds like the usual from  those  who hide behind Manchin:

The Beltway usually venerates them, but it has been turning up the pressure on Manchin and Sinema in recent weeks and the last month or two with much more pointed questions and confrontations, because they simply have nowhere else to turn and the CPC has held fast. You can tell that's gotten to Manchin. The pressure has changed and is on those two, it's not benefitting them atm. The Beltway has kept casting about for a 'noble centrists' narrative, of course, but at the moment there isn't one to find. When you have Beltway reporters admitting the split in the Dems is only the majority of the party and the president vs. two Senators and a handful of weak-kneed conservative Dems who will side with the party, that's different.

Really folks

1. Quinnipiac? Why on earth are you paying attention to a right wing poll much less any poll

2. Ah Glenn Youngkin. I remember in 2018 how Northam and Gillespie were neck and neck and Northam won by 10 point.

3. Debt Ceiling is a non issue now due to Bidens masterful performance in that meeting with the CEO's and Bankers

4. NBC Claims dems have a registration problem?  Yeah ok. Is this more Dems in Disarray?
