I felt a week ago that Joe or no Joe, this might be Trump's Katrina, or 2008 meltdown: A rogue event which will drag him and the GOP into the electoral abyss. I still do.

I honestly don't think anyone is still interested in the debates except the Berners. This thing is over for most others. We're sitting here in the middle of a pandemic and a stock market crash and Bernie's supporters are still trying to negotiate concessions for the fact that they lost. I think the debate is going to be a mess. Since there's no audience, the anticipated applause lines won't take and after last night's pathetic display by Toupee Fiasco people I think most of us are just like, "Can we focus on what matters now?"

It's a win-win for both sets of cultists. They can feel morally superior as Biden can't answer the way they want, and clips can also be thrown on Twitter quickly to show other examples of his cognitive struggles. I wish he wasn't doing it, to be honest.

I do think Bernie knows it's over, even if his followers don't (or can't admit it is because they still need to con people for cash).  He said on Fallon last night that he does think Biden can beat Trump. Many of his followers are upset and want him to take the gloves off. They will continue their foaming at the mouth once he drops out, I'm sure, but he's smart enough to see the exit door. He just wants to leave with dignity and the right payment.

I don't really think Biden's speech will be up to much today, but whatever happens I hope McConnell refusing to support legislation to help fight the virus will show Biden that the days of trusting or working with Republicans are long gone.

The sad thing is so many are so easily swayed that even now, with the stock market crashing again today and more and more sick and dying, Trump still has a heavy amount of support for his lunacy.

Normally, I would be mad at NBC for normalizing this creature.  But, in a way, the Trump administration's very existence has helped to normalize Sarah Palin in ways that will never cease to astound me.

Exactly.  We just aren't in the mood these days even to entertain another woman, POC or WOC running for president (and probably won't be for a very long time).  The past four years, I'm heartbroken to say, have scared us back into "safe mode" -- which, in this case, is another old, white dude.

Technically, Trump's an old white dude, no? I think that type of safety is an illusion.  Especially when people are comparing Trump's clusterf*ck handling of the coronavirus outbreak compared to how Obama handled H1N1 and Ebola.

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders stands in another corner, railing that coronavirus is spreading on account of Wall Street billionaires stealing money, food, medicine and everything else out from us hard-working, tax-paying citizens.

(No, not really.  But, most likely, that's what he's saying right now.)

Apparently Bernie is going to give a coronavirus speech in an hour.

Oh, boy.

God:

Of course the economic stump speech will be woven in. Again.

Why am I not surprised?  That old poop will never pass up an opportunity to cry for his precious "revolution."

I'm not even bothering to watch.  I agree, @Vee, he'll just weave in his usual, tired stump speech.  He is such an intractable s.o.b.

Not sure whether this has been posted (I checked as far back as Sunday morning posts) but ICYMI while focusing on the coronavirus and national news:

Can Lindsey, Ted Cruz, and Matt Gaetz stay quarantined for the next, I don't know, century or so?
