Chuck Todd has such an awful voice for television. So whiny and weaseling. This man is a failure in every way. Only in our craven media market and on the especially craven NBC would he have a career.

Sadly it seems like Bernie's sycophants already have the pitchforks out for Sherrod Brown because he doesn't want to give out rainbows and fairy promises about Medicare.

Brown is practical and I think if I recall one of the things that was reviewed as part of the ACA was lowering the age for Medicare. I am of the camp by the way who believes we need National Health care but I am also convinced of doing it in a pragmatic way. I think if Brown and Harris frame it correctly it becomes a winning issue and neither has made any hard commitments about specific policy. Notice how I say Brown and Harris and Harris and Brown because to me that is a winning ticket

That would make sense.

I used to think Brown or Russ Feingold would be good nationally but the latter's time has passed (and I think he was too "pure" to ever truly be a strong politician).

I wish I believed we had a fair primary and that those who caused so many problems in 2016 weren't going to do the same again.

Yes, and I agree that starting slowly by lowering the medicare age to 50 or 55 is a good way to go. I would love to see those two be the ticket. I guess we'll see how things shake out.

They did.  But, dammit, we need '80s sitcoms now to remind us how to be a decent human being?  We're really at that point?

Well past it because I doubt most of the people who need to listen will.  I'm really afraid of what the future will bring, but all we can do is keep moving and hoping that no one who matters drops the ball in the next election.

On a different note I'd forgotten how pretty Nell Carter was.  I was just reading her IMDB profile.  What a tragic life she had.  It really amazes me how resilient some people are, although someone reminded me just the other day that just because someone puts on a brave face it doesn't mean they aren't suffering in private. Clearly Nell was, but she still rose to the top.

While I understand the decision to push him out, given what he did and his fumbling response, I am increasingly worried at what will happen the next time the media and the GOP come after a Democrat they hate. When they come for Justin Fairfax, will any of the party fight his corner?

No. This is all about showing the GOP that we're better than them. Superiority is heroin for the left.

And am I reading this correctly, 77 hours spent in policy meetings since the election???

It's the time he uses to watch Fox news.

My God, that is completely unaccounted for blocks of time!

For all we know, he could've been doing sex chats with Putin!

🤣 Nothing would surprise me.  Like I've said before we are in straight up crazy town.

That's exactly what's going on and once again the left is going to screw itself.

I think this article supports your point. I definitely see the value in being pragmatic, although I think the paragraph where titled "Some of our best friends were racist" is pretty sad.  I didn't know that about LBJ.

Thank you for that. I'll be honest. The reaction to this situation has left me hopeless. Not because of Northam but because this is all predicated on adhering to a sanitized version of the 1980s. He's being torn down because of a lie people want to keep telling themselves.

a much more official sounding term for being a "lazy [!@#$%^&*]" as this man is.

I've a feeling "executive time" includes a juice box and cartoons.
