I smell a cover-up.

I knew this would happen.  I knew the minute they got the FBI to investigate, the WH and/or Senate would figure out a way to make their task impossible.  It's bad enough they get only one week.  But, now, the FBI will likely uncover nothing, b/c the WH has rigged it that way; and although it's sickeningly unethical, it's also perfectly legal.

What. A. Joke.

Honestly, I'm about as checked out as Ashley Kavanaugh appears to be (yet again) in the above picture.

It's the old adage: "Be careful what you wish for."

People wanted an FBI investigation so badly, but it never occurred to them that the WH, through the counsel's office, could still set the parameters.  I, myself, didn't realize as much, but I knew that if Trump wanted Kavanaugh in SCOTUS so badly, he'd find a way to make this investigation as toothless as possible.

It'll take an act of God (or, yes, Robert Mueller) to stop that man from being confirmed.

Otherwise...?  If he gets in there, and we learn that he's guilty of so much as an unpaid parking ticket, @marceline and one of my FB friends are right: there's going to be violence.

Trump tweeted that the story is a lie and that they can investigate whatever they see fit. Some are saying that’s legally binding since the White House has said his twitter statements are official. Of course I put nothing past them so we will see what happens. Regardless a week simply doesn’t seem enough unless they really get all their offices involved.

I think many had a feeling this could happen, they are just trying to drag out as much as they can in case something else comes out. Kavanaugh being confirmed has always been a lock, unfortunately. It's just about trying to find some hope, however thin the hope is. At the very least fighting back this much gave such a clear picture to America of just how craven the GOP and Kavanaugh is thanks to those hearings.

(I know some have said the whole thing has "galvanized" the right, but those voters were coming to the polls no matter what)

    • Shari Anderson was also head writer for a few months before the strike began.
    • I would agree.  Does anyone ever notice in Jan 1988/even Dec 1987, the show started to refer to characters from the past and mainly the Frame family?   It sounded like Lemay talk.  Jason Frame mentioned his sister Sharlene in early 88 but the ending credits still listed MD has head writer and I think Lemay was about to take over at that point.  The show hired Lemay back I believe to prepare for the 25th anniversary and try to recapture the audience that was lost by bringing the past back up.  Then the writers strike happened and all of a sudden the writing changed except when Sharlene Frame came back and we heard more family chatter again.  Maybe at this time they knew the strike was coming near to an end the producer forced the scab writing team to introduce Sharlene. I suspect even though Lemay was not writing at the time, the intent was he is coming back and the show consulted with him on his future storylines.
    • -- My Laugh of the Day goes to Carly calling the Metro Court a "five-star hotel." -- It's crazy, but what Drew did to Wiley makes Drew come off worse than if he actually murdered someone. -- Cynthia Wattros really needs to lay off the Botox. Because her face doesn't move, she's doing WAY too much with her eyes. -- Josh Kelly is looking so good with the new haircut. -- Rory Gibson continues to impress as nuMichael. Just another reminder that Josh Griffith doesn't know how to write for talent. -- This Lucky goodbye is sad -- in all the wrong ways. It could not be more pathetic. There's no doubt in my mind that Valentini told the writers they had 3 days to write him out and to make it ugly. No one will miss JJ.

      We all have our picks
    • Teach me to post cocky about all these rampant relations! As for the cut, it just made Leo Howard look more stunningly handsome. There are guys I think are hotter, but he's got the prettiest face hands down.
    • Yes Arianna and Sami are blood related through Sami and Theresa. They are also adoptive/honorary related because Arianna's third.parent is Sonny, which makes Arianna and Tate related through Justin and Isabella.
    • I saw more about Biden Old or the staged feud between Elon and Trump or just the usual distractions, but I will admit I don't stomach most of the news anyway.
    • Figured it was something like that. It's just feels weird that Will came back to see John but he's not gonna be at his funeral but

They are blood related. Through Sami and Theresa. I didn't notice it last week, but it looked so fresh today. Like he got cut minutes before they started filming or something lol
    • Bill convinced the Governor to pardon Luna. Steffy was too busy badmouthing Hope & Brooke for most of the Spring to concern herself with such trivial matters.
