Flake has surprised no one.  We all knew he is paper tiger.  He'll then go onto work at some cushy private sector job courtesy of a GOP flunkey.

If he honestly believes he has any political future now as a national politician he's a joke.  He's like Rand Paul. He smirks and preens and presents this image of independence and goes lock and step.  Yes he'll go into the private sector and probably get a gig on MSNBC as one of those #nevertrumpers, most of whom actually showed their true colors through this, except for very few.

I'll be honest, more and more I think this ends with violence. Not the Kavanaugh situation in particular but just the dismantling of our democracy. This country can't go on like this. We weren't built for minority rule.

Sadly, I'm beginning to feel that way, too.  Animosities keep festering.  Incidents keep piling on top of incidents.  The centre cannot hold.

IKR?

Susan, girl, stop milking the suspense.  We all know already how you're going to vote.  So, just say it and let us get back to our regularly scheduled disappointment.

Good for him, considering he's in a tight race this year in a state where a man like Kavanaugh likely has a ton of support. He could have easily voted for this hellish man and gotten cover. I'm glad that he and Doug Jones aren't taking the easy way out, even if it costs them.

This is also why the whole idea there's no difference between Republicans and Democrats is BS, when you see Republicans like Flake who have nothing to lose still cowering and buckling.

Just some extra-judicial killings, nbd.  This is the world in which we live now.

From what I've read the vote was supposed to be underway by 1:30pm.  Senators still discussing...whatever they're discussing.

Also, don't know what this is about.

There is some suspense in the room, but these situations can be totally unpredictable. Flake has a visit to New Hampshire scheduled which of course means presidential exploration so he could flip to remain viable but the odds are long of that.

Am I hearing correctly about Flake?  Folks are saying he flipped...wants an investigation.

Yes, he did.  I really hope this is what happens.
