The price the public pays for letting money determine the caliber of most of our elected officials. The way to preserve my mental health at this point is probably to ignore Florida, Virginia and whomever else wants to "confess" to their racist fantasies because this is all too much.

IKR?  She looks like she's carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders.  If she becomes ill as a result of this pressure, the media will have themselves only to blame.

 

 

Agree.  There's an entire section of this country that longs for the return of Jim Crow, while the rest is doing everything they can to lurch ahead.  If survival means leaving behind the South and the rest of the MAGAts, then that's what we'll have to do.

I think if the northeast and the west coast were physically connected the U.S. might truly decide to break up.  Giving the enormity of our military industrial complex I can only image what that would look like if it happened. Much like the USSR breaking up I guess, with loose nukes here there and everywhere.

Oh, that won't happen. The reason they are so desperate to stop immigration of any kind, is that they know when the Latino population in Texas gets to critical mass, and the state flips, it's game over. Then of course, they will want the electoral college gone when that happens. Beto O'Rourke got more votes than any other democratic candidate in Texas history.

I'm more tired of the "I knew blackface was wrong in the 80s" people who are using this to make themselves feel superior. We know that Chief Wahoo is a racist but people still wear that logo. I'm amazed at how many people are out here acting brand new.

Knowing McCain over the years and hearing how ignorant his daughter is on TV makes this the least surprising thing I have heard. The worst part of this is how superior she acts after the smear her husband went through at the hands of George W Bush in the 2000 campaign and their crying about that. Those who have claimed not to be racist- showing their colors.

Well, when people suggest that the state motto change to "Virginia is for lovers...of blackface", you know you've got a problem.

I admit, I did giggle at this but the state is...eesh.
